1109068 Yup. Aka Little Mac, of whom Lincoln asked if he could borrow the army, as McClellan evidently wasn't using it!

Your go, Marco.

686685 Of coures, that's silly. Because you say 380 years later. So that would put the inital event in the 16th century. I give up. This is giving me agita.

686685 Frankly, Manuel. I think that more people would particiapte in this game were the answers easier. To give more people a chance to chime in. As it is, we've spent, what? a week on this one? Historical events don't have to be so obscure that no one knows them (whether or not they'd make a great movie).

22 the 16th century event and the 20th century event, took place in the same location. they were both major events of their century, both events share the SAME name.

message 2499: by Ted (new)

686685 Well, you said I was warm but off by a few years when I said "The Siege of Vienna in 1529." So, I assume that this was an East-West conflict involving the Ottoman empire which in the 16th century had a strong fleet which wreaked havoc in the Mediterranean. But that doesn't jibe with the modern reoccurrence or the commander being shot by a sniper or the city named after the hero. I just don't know ..
