1259216 Yes, Nina, that's definitely an international family.

Thank you for asking about my poems.
I've posted some of them here at Goodreads.
Below is the link if you'd like to see them: ====>

1043278 Joy,

I wish you would post one of your poems. I am in the mood for "light" and would love the subject matter; boating. I would like to add that although I mentioned that three of my grandchildren were born in France I neglected to tell you about the birthplaces of some of the others. One was born in Hamburg, Germany. When she was six weeks old I visited her in Berlin before the wall was taken down. Another was born IN Nicaragua, another in The Dominican Replublic, Three were born in Mexico and two in Venezula and I have two step grandchildren from Honduras. Except for the last two they are all Americans and the two are going to be citizens soon. I guess we have an international family. Would you say? I love them all. nina

I would be afraid of tornadoes too, Alice.

Yes, my voice quality has gotten worse over the years. Actually, my voice is OK, but I have less range. When I go out of my range, I find it hard to stay on key.

Years ago I sang in six annual Sweet Adeline Chorus competitions. One of them was at the Waldorf Astoria in NYC. Great fun! I also did the usual singing in church and also in the Champlain Chorale in Ticonderoga for a while. Yes, singing Christmas carols is one of the best parts of the holiday, as is playing Christmas music on the piano.

Yes, the pic of the lake and gazebo is lovely. Is this the same lake and gazebo below? ====>

I was brave and posted it on my page which I rarely do as my husband had his identity stolen years ago and its something you never get over. I live in the small mountain village above Colorado Springs called Green Mountain Falls. You can see it at a link a friend created for me of our little lake and the Gazebo, very famous in this area.

I used to have a guest book but yahoo somehow took it away. I did a painting of it called Mauve Sunset and sold it at the also famous little local restaurant called The Pantry. Maybe you are familiar with it?
Lots of people don't know where Green Mountain Falls is but they know Woodland Park just up the highway.

1758987 Alice-where in CO do you live? You may have already said but I missed it....we have family in a few areas of CO....

Yes, Colorado is very windy. In fact I read that the tornadoes that form are because they bounce off the Rocky Mountains. A few years ago I was coming home from the library and saw a huge black cloud which I ignored as I had heard there are no tornadoes actually in the mountains. Well, this was a tornado and fortunately all it blew down was thousands of trees! So they can happen up here too but mostly they go out into the plains area. I am terrifed of them.

I sang with my sister in choir in high school but my sister is the one who can sing not me. What little voice I had is gone with the years and it was never good. My son says I screech like a screech owl so I don't sing anymore or attempt to sing. I did sing Christmas carols in church on Christmas Eve. I love them.

1259216 The snow is coming down here in Glens Falls today.

I've heard that CO is a windy state. Is that true?

As for the music, if I hear a song I like, sometimes I enjoy singing it for my own amusement.
I love to sing! I only wish I had more talent as a singer. If I did, I swear I'd go out and perform in night clubs! (g)

Do you like to sing?

Well, sometimes I am but I can also scare myself silly! I must have had sweet dreams as I woke up with "Heavenly Sunlight" playing in my head. I often have music playing in my head, do you? The wind is gusting here and blowing sparkling snow off the roof, it looks like diamond dust.
Hope you had a good night too?

1259216 You're lucky to have a good imagination, Alice.
Sweet dreams now.

That is wonderful to get recognition like that. Will try to search for them tomorrow but guess I have to try for some sleep now. I have too much imagination but can't write. Mom used to say my imagination was working overtime! LOL

1259216 I can write but I have no imagination for stories.
I also lack that nebulous quality called "flair". (g)
I won a city-wide short story contest when I was in high school. It was for Brotherhood Week. I had a flair for writing poetry when I was younger... mostly light poetry. My poems have appeared in a few small publications, nothing of note. I recently posted a few of my old poems at my poetry page on Goodreads. I really should post more of them there. I wrote a whole series of light poems related to boating. Most of them were humorous.

I have been a bookworm most all my life. My mother read to me lots when I was very little. I only wish I could write.

1259216 You're welcome, Alice.
You've done a lot of reading!
