Hi I just decided to join this challenge. Thanks for hosting it. I posted my introduction in the topic 75 book challenge. Probably the wrong place. Feel free to move my mistakes around. Now Im not sure how to post my books. Il have to ask my 10 yr old for a tutorial!!

I agree with you. Goodreads is very encouraging. I love seeing what everyone else is reading. And I love to see their comments about the book. I have to admit, I'm not very good at writing comments when I finish a book.
I have a rather large selection of audiobooks (especially considering that almost all of them I have in both audio and print versions because they are 'particular favorites') and love to use the sleep timer to let my iPod 'read me' a bed-time story. Apparently, you never outgrow those :) (um... just don't play anything by Stephen King just before bed, LOL)
Yes... I just bought my first ipod and joined audible.com. I've started listening on the way to work too, although my commute is only about 20 minutes. I like to listen when I'm waiting on doctor appointments too.
I bought the recordings for Twilight, Hunger Games and Dream of Me. All have been very good. :) The goodreads site is really encouraging me read/listen a lot more, and I'm loving it.

I'm so sorry you don't get to read as often as you'd like either. Do you listen to audio books? That's the way I squeeze in more books. I feel my commute to work and back is a waste time that I could be reading, so I listen instead. I think it also keeps me calmer. If I get stuck in traffic and am going to be late, I just think, oh well, more listening time.
This sounds like fun! For me reading is like breathing- things get very unpleasant if I don't get to do it! And this seems like the perfect excuse to indulge in one of my favorite activities. I have to read... I've been challenged! :) I've never actually kept a list of all the books I've read in a single year so I think it will be interesting to see just how much it all adds up to.

Thanks. It's because of you that I'm here. Thanks a million!!!
I didn't make it to 100 last year so I thought this one might be more realistic for me. I don't get the opportunity to read as often as I'd like to. Here goes nothing! Thanks for having me.
Hello to Andrea and Mike - it's nice to meet you!!! I hope you'll feel at home . . . there are just some absolutely terrific folks who share what they're reading here.
Hi.
Ah, my newfound love for reading is something I want to share with Goodreads. I have high ambitions for this year, and I am not afraid to pursue them.
See you.
Hi Randi, Susan and Andrea. I'm anxious to see what you all read. That's the best part of Goodreads, finding out about so many good books. If I only had time to read them all. :D If you'd like a friend please invite me to your friends list.
Happy Reading!!
Hi everyone, my name is Andrea and I live in historic Plymouth MA. I currently work full time in a busy doctors office and I’m taking classes online to finish my BS in healthcare administration. Balancing all of this with family and a boyfriend keeps me very busy, but never too busy to read! Last year I managed to read 52 books, my best year ever I was in the high 80's and my worst year was a piddle 14. So far this year I’m at 7 and on a roll! I have a competitive side and often find I enjoy pushing myself to new heights. I hope to get to know all of you over the next 11 months!
Happy Reading, Andrea
Thanks Kay! I'm joining a little late but I'm just starting to get involved in this site. Like most here, I'm a little leery of committing to 100 but would like to do more than 50. From here I am heading to post what I have read so far!
Susan
Randi, thanks for the introduction. The A-Z challenge sounds like a great idea. I should take a look at my "To Read" list and see how many blanks I'd have to fill in to do something like that. But for authors starting with "x" - are there any?Randy, welcome to you! There's a great group of readers here, and we're glad to have you aboard.
Hi all - I'm Randy (with a "y") and I've averaged 70 books a year since 1982. (Think I'm a bit retentive to even know that? :) This group looks like wonderful fun. 75 will be a great goal for 2009... I'm enjoying all the comments and suggestions for new reads. What a blast!
Hi! I'm Randi. I don't think that I have introduced myself to this group. I have started an A-Z title and author list for this year. That will take up a lot of the books I need for this group. I will post it later.
Hello! I just jooined this group. Actually I am new to Goodreads. I am not sure how all this works, withthe posting. Giving it a try. I am currently reading the Sookie Stackhouse series. So far I like them. Hope to get to know you all soon!
I finished 83 books last year. I've only recorded the number of books I've read for the last 5 years. The highest I ever got in a year was 88. I'd love to reach 100 books in a year (and joined the 100 book challenge group anyway) but realistically I'm not sure if I can make it. 75 is a more realistic goal for me.
Greetings! My name is Adriana and like Alyssa I have never been a participant in a book challenge. So far I've read two books and am working on a third. I am currently a student so making time for a leisurely read is not always easy. That being said I look forward to the challenge. Good luck to everyone.
Hi I am Lynne and hail from Dorset UK, I managed 104 books last year so want to aim for at least that many again so this is my incentive.
I am off to a good start as I have read 6 and have 4 on the go.
Alyssa, welcome! Sounds like you are off to a great pace for 2009. I'm so glad you decided to join us.
Hello everyone! I joined a few days ago and I'm excited to be a part of this group! I made reading 75 books in '09 one of my New Year's Resolutions. I've never done a book challenge before, but I'm a constant reader so 50 just seemed too easy to me.So far I've finished two and I'm halfway through my third. I have a pretty sizable list of books I want to read this year. I'm looking forward to sharing my thoughts on them and getting more recommendations from this group!
Tosca, the beauty of it is it's YOUR challenge! Last year, I took part in the 100 book challenge but I found myself over-emphasizing YA books so that I could hit the number. For this challenge of 75, I've decided not to count YA. But the choice is for each one to make. I personally have no problem with "a book is a book". Hey, even reading 75 children's books can be a challenge for a busy mom or dad!So, my advice would be to do what works for you. List them all, or not. We're very broad-minded here!
Just a quick query: is there an emphasis on quality reading? Or a book is a book is a book is a book? The reason I ask is because I work for a public and edit a few e-newsletters that cover romance, pop culture and bio/memoir so my reading ranges from Mills & Boon to Elvis, and just want to make sure first.
Hello all. I'm excited to start this challenge. I read 62 books in 2008 from April when I started tracking, so I think 75 is a good pace for 2009.
L, welcome! 60 is a great pace - congrats on reaching that in 2008. And thanks for joining this challenge for 2009.
I did the 100 book challenge last year and reached 60. So with my baby a little older and hopefully more time to read I can get this challenge accomplished this year.
Welcome Katie! One of the thing I love about these challenges is seeing what others are reading. Can't wait until we can start our new lists for 2009.
Hello everyone! I joined this group to meet the goal of 75 books in 2009. Since I began tracking my books in August, I have read 38 books so I think I could make it!

merri - Glad to see you here. Hope you have time to reach your goal this year.
I am in awe, Mitabird! I'd love to be able to get through 160 books in a year . . . I like your twist on the 75-book goal. Good luck to you!
I just joined this group, though I usually read more than 75 books a year. I'm currently at 160, but that's 50 less than last year though. My main goal for 2009 is to read at least 75 books that I've had since 2007 and earlier.
Vicki, welcome! It will be great to see what you read this year - I've got an 8-year old who is all too quickly approaching those tween years.
Hello, I'm pretty new to Goodreads and just learning all the fun things it offers. This challenge sounds great!! I'm a librarian for middle grades, so I read a lot of YA/Tween books and some of my own adult books. I'm looking forward to seeing what all of you are reading. Happy New Year!
Hi! For those of you who don't know me I am 48 years old- live on Long Island and love to read. Working full time and currently fixing up a new house while trying to sell the old one has put a real cramp in my reading time! I usually average 50 books a year- so this really is a challenge for me- but I will give it my best shot.Kay- thanks for inviting me!
I want to welcome all the new members
I have been busy and haven't posted much but am looking forward to 2009 and going for the goal of 75 books.
HI everyone, I just joined and am looking forward to trying to read 75 books in 2009! Looking forward to getting to know everyone and have some great book discussions.
