1530422 Hello!
I've recently become affliated with www.Sonar4ezine.com as their science fiction reviewer & instead of reviewing the same old books that already get a lot of play & promo I'd like to review the science fiction of authors from here and hopefully get you guys (us) a little more exposure. So what I propose is the review of your book I write for Sonar4 I'll also post here on Goodreads & Amazon. All I need is a copy of your book either a hardcopy or an electronic version. Please feel free to contact me for more information.

1202225 Are you looking for strict science fiction, or is fantasy acceptable?

1314249 Hello Jim,

I would love to send you my just-out first novel, "The Infinite Instant", for review. The book is published by Lachesis Publishing, a Canadian publisher based in Nova Scotia. See www.lachesispublishing.com; also available on Amazon, Fictionwise, Ereader, and other sites.

First novels have a hard time finding reviewers, especially if they are from a small press. Your offer is much appreciated.

I'll be happy to send you either an electronic or print version for review. Just send me your contact information. My email is danielle_parker@hotmail.com.

Thanks,
Danielle (author of "The Infinite Instant")

1331447 www.Sonar4ezine.com looks to be for sci-fi and horror only, but if you are also reviewing Fantasy, I could send you a pdf for my Fantasy novel, FireDrakes.

I am also trying to get the word out about my 'Be a Character in my Next Novel' contest. The deadline is December 5th.

1530422 Good Morning!

Good to see a lot of fantasy authors out there! But unfortunately the editor of Sonar4 wants me to stick with science-fiction or horror reviews.

All the best!

67156 Are you against reviewing anthologies? I've got a story or two in two different anthologies from DAW that skate closer to fantasy but there's a lot of sci-fi stories in them as well.

Fellowship Fantastic & The Dimension Next Door (released in January and July this year).

Just wish I had some extra copies to shoot your way....

1675373 Hi Jim. I would love it if you reviewed my book called "Kill the Messenger: Gemini"
www.killthemessengergemini.synthasite.co... or you can read the first chapter on Amazon.com. Give me your address and I can send you a copy. Thanks

941876 I have a speculative-fiction title which isn't fantasy (no magic), but doesn't have advanced technology either - the "speculative" part is a societal difference rather than a technological one, and the setting is early Renaissance.

If that falls within the parameters, you can pick up a .pdf at http://city-of-masks.blogspot.com, or contact me (there's an email address there) and I can mail you a physical copy.

1604185 Hi Jim,

My name is Rai Aren, co-author of a mystery/speculative sci-fi novel about ancient Egypt, entitled Secret of the Sands. Our story has a double storyline where the past & present intertwine, and the book has been an Amazon Bestseller in a number of categories. Here is a short blurb about the story:

In the shadow of the Great Sphinx of Giza, two young archaeologists unearth extremely unusual artifacts over 12,000 years old, but the find is wrong - very wrong. The artifacts shouldn’t be there…they shouldn’t exist at all. The greatest discovery in human history may turn out to be the deadliest…

I would be happy to send you a copy of the book if you are interested in reviewing it.

Thanks for your time! Whether you are interested in reviewing Secret of the Sands or not, I think what you are doing here is great!

Rai Aren, co-author of Secret of the Sands
www.secretofthesands.com

"A deep probing mystery riddled with prophecy and danger, Secret of the Sands uses Egypt and her mythology as a backdrop to delve into the meanings of life and religion." -McNally Robinson

"Rai Aren and Tavius E. have crafted a fast-paced, exciting novel overflowing with mystery and intrigue. The tension is constant. The characters fully developed. And the plot gripping. Ancient history and present day relevance are so expertly intertwined, that you might forget you are reading a work of fiction."-- Thomas Phillips, author of The Molech Prophecy

954295 I would love to review Secret of the Sands, archeology has always fascinated me!

Any one that is looking for an honest review. I will read nearly anything and love new authors. You can send me a message here if you're interested or to l booth 1 @ gmail.com (no spaces). I spend too much time tied to a desk, so I prefer hard copies, but if PDF is all you have, or want to send, I'll go with it.

1640267 Hi Jim,

My 'Martian Symbiont' series is science fiction with a humorous twist. I'm under a deadline for sending in revisions to the third title in the series at the end of this month, but could send you either the first novel, 'Been Blued' (snailmail) or the manuscript for the third novel as an email attachment after the start of December. My website is www.ScifiAliens.com and you might want to check it out first. There's also a contact page, or you can email me at t_phyllis@hotmail.com.

Thank you for your consideration.

1530422 Hello Everybody!
I just want to thank you all for your replies, I really appreciate the interest. I've read and replied to everyone, and I'm sorry about the few I can't review because of the parameters the editor of Sonar4 has given me. But everybody's books and stories were interesting, & there's a lot of talent out here.

I've lined up reviews through June of 09 so I'm asking to hold off on any more recommendations. I don't want to get too far ahead of myself. Thank you for the opportunity to read your books.

If you have a science ficiton or horror story please check the submission guidelines at www.sonar4ezine.com, she is also looking for columnists in those genres.

Thank you again for your replies!

All the best!
Jim Cherry

1314249 Um... folks, you might want to check out a sample of Jim's reviews before you consider sending a book for review.

Jim just reviewed one I sent him at his sonar4 magazine. I guess that's all I'll say.

I didn't follow my own advice and check out previous reviews, but you can end up hurting yourself more than helping, if your book is not to the reviewer's taste. Just a thought.

Good reviews and bad reviews will happen to you, if you're an author, and I've given plenty of bad reviews myself (I review for Bewildering Stories). Reading is a matter of taste to a great extent. So they'll happen. The first one does hurt, of course. It can't help but.

So I'm not particularly upset, but I wanted to give a word of caution to all the new authors who, like me, are looking for a review.

So, now sadder but wiser--check out previous reviews by any reviewer you submit a book to (especially if you are paying for the review book copy).
