Fingers crossed that I have many good little forgotten horror novels coming my way in a few days to read in 2012. My family never knows what books to buy for me, so I put a giant list of titles together on Amazon, all of them old out of print mid-list titles from the 70s and 80s, and emailed to them. According to my little brother, who is living at my parents house, dozens of boxes keep arriving from Amazon. I think that's a good sign.

Jason, no, I didn't think so. He could have very well ended it on an even more sentimental note, but he chose not to, which was the right decision. I don't think you'll be disappointed by anything in the book. I enjoyed the romance and even the politics didn't get in the way.

Anyone else besides me, enjoying their reading picks for this year?? I have only had a few stinkers, but for the most part I feel quite satisfied so far. :)
I've read some fantastic books this year, Alondra. Very few stinkers for me, too. However, if I see a book veering off into stinkerland, I stop reading. So that may be why I read so few bad books; I don't give them a chance.

After last year having to toil through Les Miserables; i promised to never push through when a book is irritating me like that.
Yes, I'm too old and life is too short and my time is too precious to chug on through a book I didn't like in the first few paragraphs. That way I save myself a lot of heartache by only reading great books. It works for me! :-D

Now I see it as 'So many books, so little time', and I give a book only so long to 'bring me in', and that's it. Aynone who's been an avid reader all their lives knows if they like a book pretty darn fast. :O)

I used to feel the same as you Glenda. I had to finish a book I hated not matter what. The last few years, though, I've realized that there's way too many books I want to read. So, there's no time, really, to torture myself with a book I am not enjoying.
I used to be that way as well. Until I got my Kindle and got turned on to so many books by this group and a a few others to which I belong.

So glad that I got over the whole 'quitter' thing. I used to feel like one if I didn't finish.
