424383 Fair O'Nelli lives in Cloven Grave and she knows three things: She has spent the last nine years of her life living in a cellar with her dog, Sauveren. Her father and brother are missing...or dead. She is about to be freed.

You'll discover the Impissh Nissen, the Woolly, Gibber Will, nasty Harrold King, Fair's dog Sauveren, and a deep, dark secret that the parent's of Cloven Grave know nothing about.

Look for the audiobook version narrated by Simon Vance. (He narrated the Dune series, Master and Commander. He was awarded the 2008 Voice to be Heard Award by Booklist this year at the ALA convention.)

424383 Thanks! I'm thinking of posting the glossary of terms and list of characters...thoughts anyone? (There wouldn't be any 'spoilers' to give away the story...)

619166 That would really help, but don't give away any info in the glossary or terms!

180349 Sounds like just my kind of book! I am looking forward to reading it...A glossary of terms and characters would be great...a sneak peak into the realm, as it were. Thanks form making all of this available!

622853 That would be fun but don't give anything away....as others have said. ;)

424383 I'll be really careful not to give anything away. I'll leave out terms or places that might spell too much out.

Karey, I have to say that I am loving it so far! I am really enjoying the "Wizard of Oz" like feel to it. Maybe thats only me, and maybe that will change as I go on. So much fun! I can't put it down! Thanks!

681853 Thank you, Karey! I just finished it and have to say that I absolutely loved it! A lot of time while reading a book, I can kind of tell where it is all leading to....but not in this case. I thoroughly enjoyed it! You kept me on the edge of my seat the whole time. I loved the "Wizard of Oz" feel to it, and it even reminded me a bit of Lord of the Rings and The Chronicles of Narnia. I don't want to say too much here and give anything away, but I will say this: I am even looking forward to rereading it when I get the actual book. Thanks!

424383 How fun for me to see that you're all enjoying reading Secret Speakers! I appreciate you for taking time to write such kind words. Thank you. I feel like a bit of a nitwit, Kathy because you're the third person to mention the Lord of the Rings comparison to me. I've never read Tolkien except for The Hobbit, back in college!

I tried to brave the trilogy this year so I could read it at the same time as my 14 year-old son, and I didn't make it past the first chapter. My three children have read the trilogy several times through, so maybe I absorbed something by osmosis over dinnertime conversations...You've definitely brought a smile to my face.

My favorite writer of all time is George MacDonald, a contemporary of C.S. Lewis and Tolkien. I believe his writing influenced me more than any other author.
