712966 straight from the site itself no less!
http://www.mariavsnyder.com/cover_galler...

its pretty! and very different from the Study series, do you think Mira was doing that on purpose or just how they chose to lay it out?

1069643 Yay! I have librarian status, so I updated the cover. Storm Glass (Glass, Book 1) You'll now see the cover on your GoodReads! I may have to start a listopia list for "Most Anticipated Books of 2009"... There's a list here where you can vote for the most anticipated books of 2009. The release date is 4/28/2009 in the US, unless Mira moves it again.

Maria will be at Harlequin HQ this week, so wish her luck esp. you Angelenos who want to see her in person next Spring!

Lexie and all you guys in or near the PA area who are already close by, you lucky ducks! If you get to see her, I want pictures ^_^

712966 wait wait what Alethea? where's Harlequin HQ? And hopefully my friend and I will be making it to her Delaware presentation (we be wanting to drive the hour and half or so to get to it--good excuse to run away from the boys XD ).

yeah for new covers!

1069643 Harlequin's main office is in Toronto, Canada. *fingers crossed* she's trying to get them to officially send her to L.A. for a book launch party at my store! If I could fly her here myself, I would. In fact, if they say no, I may undertake some serious fundraising. Just a thought.

1480438 Awesome... just awesome cover. New one for the best of.

message 6: by Lexie (new)

712966 oh phew Alethea you had me thinking the HQ was near me in PA! I was about to go storm Pensy to find it and not borrow ARCs from authors I love...I would have returned them...after sharing them...I swear...

I have a photo from meeting Maria before Fire Study came out, if anyone would like to see it (and Maria is okay with me posting it here of course).

also I was gonna try to ninja pictures from next week's speaking engagement--with her permission, I'm a courteous ninja after all--and give a quick write up about it if anyone was interested.

message 7: by Alethea (new)

1069643 Definitely interested!

message 8: by Maria V. (new)

1629797 I hope to see you in DE Lexie!

I would settle for being able to actually make an outfit that would be appropriate LOL

message 17: by Kristen (new)

327471 I could maybe buy an outfit.. I couldn't make one.. no way no how... literally. I have no sewing machine and no skill other than sewing buttons.

message 18: by Gisela (new)

1587017 At least you can sew buttons!

message 19: by Meme (new)

1605775 I can barley do that but I can do it so I guess that is something hahaha

You could buy an outfit and change the buttons!

message 21: by Kristen (new)

327471 I can sew buttons on a balloon and make them go pop!

I think I can match you on that one maybe add some sparkle paint and we are in business LOL

message 23: by Kristen (new)

327471 That's what I say whenever my fiance says "So..." in that annoying way. He thought it was cute the first few times.. not so much anymore. But.. now he doesn't say "So" as much.

1651174 Is Inside Out the third book of the Glass Series or is it the first book of a new series?

message 29: by Kristen (new)

327471 Storm Glass is the first in the Glass series. Fire Study is the third book in the Study series. Inside Out is not a familiar title.

message 30: by Thu (new)

1651174 Will the Glass series have three books or just two because it seems like Inside Out is a new series

message 31: by Kristen (new)

327471 No clue... hm. I know it's going to be a series.. not sure how many.

message 32: by Thu (new)

1651174 I thought I read somewhere that MVS was writing three books for the Glass series...but i'm not really sure

message 33: by Meme (new)

1605775 Thu wrote: "Is Inside Out the third book of the Glass Series or is it the first book of a new series?"

I think it is a short story but don't hold me to that I just cant really remember, if its not a short story then its a story to itself.

1605775 Thu wrote: "Will the Glass series have three books or just two because it seems like Inside Out is a new series"
The Glass series will have at least 3 books I don't know if there will be any more.

message 35: by Thu (new)

1651174 ok and i think Inside Out is just MVS' first YA novel so I don't think its related to the Glass series

message 36: by Gisela (last edited Feb 16, 2009 06:29PM) (new)

1587017 I just realized that in the cover, the girl is holding the glass ball on her back!

message 37: by Meme (new)

1605775 Gisela wrote: "I just realized that in the cover the girl is holding the glass ball on her back! "

I didn't realize that I thought she was holding it in front of her LOL

message 38: by Gisela (new)

1587017 I thought so too, but in
http://www.mariavsnyder.com/cover_galler...

you can see it's behind her back.

message 39: by Jane (last edited Feb 18, 2009 02:30PM) (new)

1480438 I like the new cover. I think it looks cleaner. And now I can tell she's holding the orb behind her back.

Can someone with librarian status add the new cover on GR? (I know, Alethea! I haven't "applied" for status yet. Too lazy.)

message 40: by Alli (new)

1783911 Interesting, I wonder what framing they are going to use? The zoomed out one or the more tightly cropped one? I guess we'll see soon enough!

message 41: by Alethea (new)

1069643 Oooh! Check out the UK cover:

Maria V Snyder,Storm Glass

Again, I am biased toward covers that let you conjure up the character's face in your own mind, but what the hey. I like.

message 42: by Reema (new)

2327207 I like the other cover better!!!

message 43: by Reema (new)

2327207 Oh, went to the book shop, they have the release date in the uk for 17th July.

message 44: by Alethea (new)

1069643 Good info! Thanks, Reema!

I have to say, as the cover models go, the one they got for Opal looks pretty hot ^_^ although that was not how I imagined her at all!

message 45: by Jane (new)

1480438 I like how it matches the Study series and that it says it's an Opal Cowan novel. Someone who's unfamiliar with the books will see that and probably figure out it's part of a series.

message 46: by Reema (new)

2327207 The lady in the pic is what i imagined Iris would look like, that is so weird!
