I think if it were like 4, 5 or less then fine, but with these Virgin River books there are just too many to name. I can think of...almost 20 characters who had main or supporting roles in this book.
IMHO I think just the 2 main characters. In the VR books adding the previous characters could get overwhelming. Unless maybe if there is an important secondary "romance" going on.
Noticed some people including more than the main characters in the character line for books. Question:
What do ya'll think about adding the other characters to the VR books?
I'm on the fence.
One hand, maybe should be only the main characters, but on the other, knowing who else played a major role could help in searching for what book they first appeared in.
Thoughts?
I just finished "Second Chance..." It was wonderful. Another for my favorites shelf. I hope to get to Shady Brady, too. I peaked at the next one in the back of "Second Chance..." and it looks like new stuff.Since this once came out a tad early, maybe, just maybe the next two will, too. :-)
I agree, Kathrynn, it definitely tugs at you. I had teary eyes more than once while reading! Now I'm dying for the next book. And more so for the third (seventh) one. I'm hoping that "Shady Brady" is one of the main characters. I'm sooo curious about him!
Just finished a book, so starting "Second Pass..." now. Oh, so excited. Glad you are enjoying it, Isis. Can't wait to dive in.
A little bird whispered in my ear that "Second Chance Pass" was at my local B&N and I ran up there and got it. Woo-Hoo! And I get to read it this weekend. (I'm dancing here.)Tweet Tweet, little bird! ;-)
Looks like GRs is having "a moment." None of the links to the new books are working. Usually, this fixes itself via an overnight update...Great job adding those covers and info, Isis! I've thought this many times, but I'll say it right here: It is their loss if you are not hired by a business. You have demonstrated excellent organizational skills and thoroughness!
I was wrinkling my nose at the 3.5 idea, but I see your point. Now that I've mulled it over, I realize it may be the best decision. Though, I lean toward just calling it #4 and leaving it at that. KISS (ya know?) ;-)
Whatever the majority wants, I'm good with.
No, they don't seem to be labeled on her site - plus you have to dig a little to find the info on the new books.
With the way Virgin River Christmas is set up, it seems more like #3.5 than #4...it occurs during #3 and all that. But it works either way.
BTW...I added an entry for the 3rd book in the new trilogy plus added summaries and covers for all 3 :)
Here's a question for you gyus...I was going to add series label to the new books here on GR, but I wasn't sure what to label Virgin River Christmas. Should it be book #4? I was thinking #3.5 might be more fitting since it's kind of an intermediate story. Then label the new trilogy 4-6.What do you guys think?
I read Auntee's comment and saw that Ms Carr indicates this book starts in the middle of "Whispering Rock." That's book #3 in the Virgin River series. Neat! She also indicates 3 more Virgin River books coming out:
1. Second Chance Pass (Feb 2009)
2. Temptation Ridge (March 2009)
3. Paradise Valley (April 2009)
Oh boy!
Created a Robyn Carr topic because some of her books have a dash of suspense in them and there isn't an active group, right now, for this type of book. First came Grace Valley trilogy:
(Some characters from this trilogy do appear in the Virgin River series, i.e., John Stone the OB/GYN)
1.
2.
3.
Then came the Virgin River series, in order:
1.
2.
3.
4.
5.
6.
7.
Some of her stand alones:
Blue Skies
House on Olive Street
