I am planning on taking the same approach with Night Keepers. I am a diabetic, but I am not planning on a triple hot fudge sundae on December 21, 2012. On the other hand if Andersen can create an original imaginative story with the 2012 scenario, kudos to her.

I'm on page 192 of Playing With Fire, Tales of an Exordinary Girl, Book 1. It is this month's first book of the month selection and it just looked too good to wait its place in line. Therefore, I bumped it up before three other books of the month that are in my to-be-read pile.

It is the story of a less than extraordinary young woman who suddenly finds herself with super powers. Adjusting to her new abilities and a hunky superhero are only a few of her problems. Easy read, humorous, fast-paced--so far, it's a keeper.

I'm on page 160 of Covet by J. R. Ward. Pace is still sort of slow--which is not true in her BDB books. This may be because this is a new series and Ward has all sorts of background to establish. Hope that it picks up soon.

I have started reading "Merle's Door" Lessons from a freethinking Dog, by Ted Kerasote. The first chapter is a little strange.

I am now only two months behind on our Books of the Month and am currently reading Covet by J.R. Ward.

I have finished "Kitty and the Midnight Hour" I have read "Reason to Believe" and now I am reading "Believe in Me" I have been busy LOL

Started re-reading Twilight over the weekend. It's even better the second time around.

I have finished "In the Company of the Courtesan" I am now reading "Kitty and teh Midnight Hour" by Carrie Vaughn. This is a good quick book. I need this so I can start on November's reading. LOL

Started and finished The Return by Sharon Sala. Not bad ... wasn't one of her best, IMHO, but pretty good.

I'm only a couple of chapters in of Nice Girls Don't Have Fangs. Had me smirk and chuckle in a couple of places already. Wondering how the rest of the book is going to go.

I finished "Sunshine" Then I read "Now You See Her" by Linda Howard I loved it, I finished it in one day. Now I am reading "In The Company of the Courtesan" I am not sure what I think about it yet.

"The Whiches of Estwick" is on my list of books to read before I die. Maybe I will put it to the end of the list. ;)

I'm reading Seduced By Shadows by Jessa Slade and listening to Mine Till Midnight by Lisa Kleypas.

I'm going to start reading Christmas Jars by Jason F. Wright today on my lunch and I started listening to Ten Big Ones by Janet Evanovich this morning.

Maybe the book was too scene intensive for me. It just seemed that Updike spent too much time on describing scenery and how it affected the character. He just went over board with it. There was more description then dialouge between the characters. I know it was all about setting the mood and tone, but after awhile I wanted to hear what the charater/s were saying.

I haven't read the book, but had high hopes for the series "Eastwick" with Paul Gross (Darryl Van Horn) in it. He can be a very good actor, as well as fine lookin', but they didn't give him much of a palette of colors to work with... Also, unfortunately, I thought, the women were written and acted as typical empty-headed tv women...

I'm now reading Lullaby for Morons a novel about the first murder of a teacher in the US in 1914 in Upstate New York.

The one book that I am or was reading was "The Witches of Eastwick" by John Updike. I saw the movie version from way back and I loved it. I had always meant to read the book after that. When ABC television network came up with the series I watched a couple of episodes of it. I decided that I had better get the book because I felt that I was missing something.

Well, guess what? I wasn't missing a thing. ABC has already canceled the show and so am I with the book. Now I can concentrate on a Terry Brooks book that I am reading and really enjoying. After that or before I'm finished the Brooks book, I have a A Rhys Bowen murder mystery on hold and a Jennifer Chiaverini Elm Creeks Quilts book on hold also.

I have too many books on my shelf at home to mention but other to say that I'm set for my fall and winter reads.

I have read, but need to post my review of Nice Girls Don't Have Fangs - Molly Harper (November '09 BotM). Wonderful book with an average Jane earthy sort of humor.

Host of personal and professional issues have drastically reduced my reading time. Things are starting to settle down and I hope to return to reading and reviewing in a more timely manner very shortly.

Warlock and 1984. Both very good so far...my preference being 1984 though I think, it's just drawn me in!

Started listening to City of Bones in my car. So far I'm really enjoying it.

I have finished "The end of overeating, Taking Control of the Insatibale American Appetite" I am now reading "Sunshine" by Robin McKinley. It is just alright.

I'm listening to Little Women by Louisa May Alcott and reading The Gift by Nora Roberts.

I have finished "The 7th Victim" I am now reading "The end of overeating, Taking Control of the Insatiable American Appetite" by David A. Kessler. I think it is so funny the copy I am reading is a library book and I keep finding cookie crumbs in all the pages. LOL

I have finished Julie and Julia I am no reading "The 7th Victim" by Alan Jacobson. If I had read this book when I was younger I would have wanted to be a profiler.

I really enjoyed Shiver, I gave it 4 star rating. Looking forward to the second book in this series, which is 'Linger" which comes out in July 2010.

I have finished "My Lord and Spy Master" I am now on page 188 of Julie & Julia by Julie Powell. Yes it is just as bad as the movie. There is less of Julia Childs and more of Julie Powell. What could be worse? LOL

My daughter (8yo) saw it when I was adding the book to my shelves. Then she saw I had the book in my hands. She tilted her head as she looked at it, then out loud said: "Ewww! Why would he put a candy cane there? That's not right!"

And I sat there with a stupid grin on my face, thinking I wouldn't mind licking where that candy cane is... and a few other places. Yum-yum! I think she'll get it when she's older, LMAO!

Sam, I will borrow "Can you keep a secret?" from the library. Most of Kinsella's books are great stress reducers.

I am on page 253 of "My Lord and Spymaster" I like this book much more than I liked the first in the series.

Colleen: Have you read Kinsella's "Can you keep a secret?". When I was reading that I had a work start time of 7am and wakeup time of 5:30 but was up to 3am giggling to myself thru the whole book. I have to admit I'm not a Shopaholic fan but I love almost all of Kinsella's other work.

I'm borrowing it from my sister-in-law next month. She's got the series, LOL!
