Oh, I almost forgot the classic, The Picture of Dorian Gray by Oscar Wilde, Where the picture is tied into the man's youth.
The Man Who Stole the Mona Lisa by Robert Noah
Novel based on the true story of the theft of the Mona Lisa.
I'll vote for The Da Vinci Code That is probably my best along that lines. It seems to me there was also a good biography of Vincent Van Gogh.

Another one that comes to mind is the classic, Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man by James Joyce.Another, is Girl With the Pearl Earring by Tracy Chevalier, which is a historical novel inspired by the Dutch artist, Vermeer.
What is your favorite book that uses art or artists as an integral part of the plotline?
The first one that comes to mind is The Da Vinci Code by Dan Brown.
