1976057 Coree - what are your thoughts on The Sweetness at the Bottom of the Pie? I bought it recently on a whim because the cover was so cute! Looks like an interesting read.

message 737: by Coree (new)

Nophoto-f-25x33 I didn't buy anything but I picked the following up at the library / checked out on my sony ereader this week:

The Children's Book
The Sweetness at the Bottom of the Pie
Baking Cakes in Kigali
The Help
Treasure of the Golden Cheetah

I've finished the Sweetness, Baking Cakes, and Golden Cheetah already and started The Children's Book although I am having a bit of trouble getting into it. The weather is crummy here and I have a bit of a cold so perhaps tomorrow.

2391692 My books from Amazon came yesterday :o)

The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society
The Physick Book of Deliverance Dane
The Help
The Unlikely Lavender Queen A Memoir of Unexpected Blossoming
Sense and Sensibility and Sea Monsters

Since it was just my jar of change that paid for those books, it feels so wonderfully guilt-free!

I also found these for $2 each at the library bookstore:
A Mercy
Three Junes

Yay!!!

2439273 OK - well - I picked up Jean Plaidy's The Captive of Kensington along with a Time out city guide for Berlin as I'm going there for a long weekend in April.

I also picked up a copy of A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens.

my next purchases will probably be either The Scarlet Letter, Anna Karenina or Lady Auderly's Secret. - I must get my head into Victorian literature1 - I think I'm going to have gto leave behind the modern reads for a while.

2486657 I don't buy too many books, usually head to the library. I did however have to pick up the latest Patricia Cornwell but gave it to my mom while I try to make it through the stack of books I already have on the night stand. I love to go into Barnes and Noble and wander around looking for different authors and books I want to add to my "to read" list.
