message 2: by Ginger (new)

Ginger | 834 comments I'm currently reading Eleven on Top by Janet Evanovich. I'll probably have it finished by this afternoon. I wanted to read something light since I've been reading alot of murder/mayhem lately.

Ginger | 834 comments I'm starting Night Road by Kristin Hannah.

Magpie67 | 1019 comments I just added that book to my 2BR pile. Actually I'm going to take to my Harlan lunch book club and see if they want to read it.

message 5: by Ginger (new)

Ginger | 834 comments I've heard such great things about it. It' supposed to be an emotional, "get the tissues ready", compelling story. I can't wait to start it! Hope your book club decides to read it!

Magpie67 | 1019 comments WhoooHoooo!!! I have a whole list to take to the next meeting. We are reading The Book Thief now and I have already read it, but I will skim through it again before the meeting cause I loved it!

message 7: by Ginger (new)

Ginger | 834 comments The Book Thief is one I sorta want to read but don't know if I'll be able to get into it. I may try it at some point.

Magpie67 | 1019 comments It's really really really good. Death is the narrator and it shows you a whole other side of what the Germans had to go through during WWII and Hilter.

Poorer Germans were treated badly and had to endure much.

Ginger | 834 comments I'm starting The Girl Who Chased the Moon by Sarah Addison Allen. This book was recommended to me by Dena! Thanks Dena! Your selections always ROCK & I'm sure I won't be disappointed.

message 11: by Ginger (new)

Ginger | 834 comments I'm reading another recommendation by Dena (who never steers me wrong!)....The Story of Edgar Sawtelle by David Wroblewski.

message 13: by Ginger (new)

Ginger | 834 comments The Women of Tenacity by Shanna Hatfield. Thought this would be a fun, quick read for this chilly, dreary afternoon. This was also a freebie for the Kindle awhile back.

message 14: by Ginger (new)

Ginger | 834 comments Caught by Harlan Coben. New author for me so I'm excited! :)

message 16: by Ginger (new)

Ginger | 834 comments Open Season by C.J. Box. I'm about 10% into it, but really enjoying it so far. The main character, Joe Pickett, is great so far! I think I'm really going to enjoy this series.

message 17: by Ginger (new)

Ginger | 834 comments I'm currently reading Savage Run by C.J. Box. This is the 2nd book in his Joe Pickett series.

message 27: by Ginger (new)

Ginger | 834 comments Still Missing by Chevy Stevens~~hoping to start this one tomorrow.

Magpie67 | 1019 comments These Things Hidden by Heather Gudenkauf

Ginger next week Brian Bogdanoff is coming to the Avoca Library to give his presentation on his book. Yippee!!! Going to ask my other book club tomorrow if they would like to have him come out too.

Magpie67 | 1019 comments Well if you love it like I did..... I raced through that title. I can't wait to read another title by her in 2012.

The Distant Hours is the one I have my eye on next.

Magpie67 | 1019 comments I just finished: Maybe This Time and The Overlook so I will be going back to Bel-Air Dead

Ginger | 834 comments I owe you a super-duper long email. Things have been nuts around here! I think of you often & luv ya twin!

Magpie67 | 1019 comments Trust me..... things are just as busy and nuts here in Iowa. Especially with Christmas knocking at the door! But I have and will continue to find time to read.... It's the only way I can hold onto my sanity!

Ginger | 834 comments Today I started The Silver Boat: A Novel by Luanne Rice. I haven't read anything by her in over a year!

message 47: by Magpie67 (last edited 2 de Ene 13:23) (new)

Magpie67 | 1019 comments Hmmmm to begin the search for the next title that is the question???? Well, for sure, it will be one of my library books so I will check back later with the title.

:o)

message 48: by Sandy (new)

Sandy | 375 comments I just started to read Water for Elephants by Sara Gruen and it is so good. I really didn't think it would be this good- come on, it's a circus (?!?). The drama and her writing style is fantastic. To think people paid to watch the show in the bleachers, they should have paid to see what was happening behind the scenes (ha). Great book!!

Sandy, This was one of my fav books last year! I even bought the movie & have watched it twice (tho it is a bit different than the book) & my hubby enjoyed the movie. I just loved loved & loved the book! Hope you continue to enjoy it!

Magpie67 | 1019 comments One of my goals is to read that book this year that I have owned for a while... Water for Elephants and then read The Night Circus

I've picked this book to begin sinking my teeth into, Judgment in Death by J.D. Robb
