Robin Allen | 27 comments I liked this book. It was well-written and well-paced, and the mystery was good. Lots of good suspects with valid reasons for killing. Toward the end of the book, I was pretty sure who the killer was, but that's a hazard of being a mystery author.

I also liked that there wasn't too much "theme" (knitting) fluff. I am weary, however, of the sleuth/policeman romance angle that is so prevalent in amateur sleuth/cozy mysteries (not in my books, but in most). Kruger handled it well, though, and I like how she used the cop to explain the knitting stuff in a natural way.

All in all, a good book, and I would read another by this author.

(view spoiler)[I thought the pattern publishing angle was good and liked how Kruger tied the murder victim to that. It was a little too obvious, though, which is what helped me figure out the killer.

It seemed more than a little farfetched that Ari would be so ignorant of the internet at her young age. Not just that her store wasn't online, but that she didn't understand anything about how an online store worked. Surely she's at least on Ravelry. :-) (hide spoiler)]

Joanne (woolfwomyn) | 21 comments Hi, I'm a little late to the game...is there a book for October, or are y'all extending the September book to October? If this discussion will continue, I'll go ahead and read Died in the Wool. Otherwise, I'll to go ahead and get started on the next book. Let me know the best way to join the conversation!

Robin Allen | 27 comments Hey Joanne:

I've been heading this up, but hardly anyone read or responded to September's read, so I figured there wasn't any interest.

I'll try again with an October read and see how it does.

Joanne (woolfwomyn) | 21 comments Thanks for the October read, Robin. I'll order it today!

Gayle (gaylebn) | 5 comments Oh, gosh, I can't believe Sept. is gone. I did read this book and then promptly forgot all about it. Moving on to October, now. ;-)

Barb (Indigo13) | 3 comments Reading it now and am almost finished... It's good! When I finish, I'm going to read the other one in the series..

Sara | 11 comments I just joined the group and read this selection very quickly. The only version I could find was a LARGE PRINT edition. I think when I read books in large print, it changes the mood or tone of the book. I never like books that I've read in this typeface! I thought this ended abruptly, and was OK up until the end. Not my favorite, that's for sure. Can't wait to start the next book!
