Hello Sherri,
I still need to introduce myself on this thread, but I wanted to write and recommend my PR agent Laura Solop. She specializes in social media PR and works with major houses and individual clients. If you visit www.juliefast.com you can see how she and my amazing webmaster set up a social media heavy site for any potential tv and radio spots. It also gets me speaking gigs.
Laura uses Twitter, Facebook, blogs, goodreads, and anything else that works. I have to admit I was a bit reticent at first as I am not a social media fan, but she helps me sell at least 50% of my total book sales.
Here is her information.

She is especially savvy with newsletter marketing- we are running two campaigns with my mailing list in the next few weeks.
Hope this helps! Julie
Hey!I'm Sherry Jones, author of The Jewel of Medina and, most recently, The Sword of Medina A Novel, both historical novels about the remarkable A'isha bint Abi Bakr, the Prophet Muhammad's favorite wife and the most famous and influential woman in Islam.
I have a very cool website with lots of goodies, created by smartauthorsites.com. Here's the link: www.authorsherryjones.com.
Because my publisher, Beaufort Books, is small, I'm doing much of the marketing and publicity myself while working on my next book. It's exhausting but lots of fun!
Next I plan to hire a publicist specializing in social media and internet marketing to produce a book trailer for me. I'm considering Book Candy Studios. If you've had experience with them, I'd love to hear about it.

Hello! I’m the author of Soliloquy, a time-travel romance that will be released on January 15, 2010. In addition to preparing for Soliloquy’s release, I’m hard at work on a science fiction manuscript that also incorporates time-travel, although I’ve been studying worm holes for the new one. Never thought I’d be studying physics again!
I have a web site dedicated to my writing: www.janetfogg.com. Visiting blogs and writing my own are newer interests, with both devouring writing time, as does my current fascination with book trailers!
When I asked Matt (www.improbabilityproductions.com), a friend with graphics and film experience if he would create my trailer, he suggested doing two, a short teaser and then a full version (62 seconds versus 95 seconds). I launched the “Teaser Trailer” on October 31, 2009 and plan to launch the full version in a few weeks, as well as a third video – an Author Spotlight – another one of Matt’s ideas.
Since Matt did the heavy lifting as far as graphics, my biggest challenge was writing the text for the trailers and it took me quite some time to complete that particular task. For the Author Spotlight, Matt filmed my responses to a series of questions. I suspect that was good practice as I prepare for signings, and hopefully an article or two in our local papers!
My Teaser Trailer is at: www.youtube.com/watch?v=EoJicvdOOco
I read across most genres but my favorite would be science fiction, followed closely by fantasy. I’ve also developed a fascination with anything to do with World War II and have been focused on it the last few years.
Best regards!
Janet Fogg
Hello everyone,I'm relatively new to the world of writing, and certainly can use all the tips, tricks and feedback I can get!
My first novel, Strength of Will, was just released as an e-book last week, and my second, Shinobi, is in the final stages of presubmission editing (arggh).
I do, indeed, have a website up and running dedicated to my writing, both original fiction and fanfiction.

Thanks, it's good to be here,

Glad you liked the trailer for THE PLAN. I'll be interested in seeing yours for TORN when it's ready.
Hi Joan,
I watched your book trailer. It sounds like a very interesting book! I signed up for youtube and voted on your book. I gave it 5 stars. :)

Dear Dee, thanks for creating this group!Hi everyone,
my name is Wendy Gillissen, author of Curse of the Tahiéra which was released in May this year.
Currently I'm working on a sequel, 'The Search for Tzanáta'.
I love to wander across the net searching for inspiration for my website. Playing the Celtic harp on my Youtube Channel even brought me in contact with a harp friend who turned out to be an illustrator; she made a gorgeous illustration for 'The Search of Tzanáta' and we might even collaborate on a children's book in the future! Isn't it wonderful how the internet opens up the world?
I created my own website from scratch and I would be happy to hear what you think of it! You can visit it here: Curse of the Tahiéra.
Happy writing!

FLAHERTY'S CROSSING
Hi Joan:
Thank you for those kind words. I have been trying to let people know about my TRUE STORY and my TBI has changed my life forever. I SIMPLY HOPE AND PRAY that someone will help me in the future in letting others know about it. I have to tell you for the people that have purchased and read it, THIS BOOK IS CHANGING THEIR LIVES FOR THE BETTER. That is making me very happy, to know that I am changing lives!!! Well, take care! Rodney
Kaylin is right, Rodney. Few of us know anyone high up on the ladder, unless it's the good Lord. Just continue to network with people as you've been doing, and let your incredible story be known, and you just never know what can can evolve in the future.
Good luck.
Joan

FLAHERTY'S CROSSING
Champagne Books, February 2010
Wow Kaylin:
I am very happy to hear about your life! God works in mysterious ways, and allows everything in life turn-out for the better. Life is a gift! Good luck with your present and future!
I was thinking because I don't have any connections with anyone that is high up on the latter to success, do you think you might be able to help me promote my book to a higher source? I need to find somone who can help me get my book into the hands that can help me get my book out there for people to read. It's all about living through a TBI, from loving sports to not being able to move one part of my body, to using a fork, to relearning how to speak, talk, and be a normal person. "MY MIRACLE" IS A SOURCE OF HOPE, ITS INSPIRING, EDUCATIONAL, AND ALLOWS PEOPLE TO READ, SEE PHOTOS, AND LEARN FOR SOMEONE WHO WENT THROUGH IT ALL.
THANK YOU FOR EMAILING BACK. PLEASE TAKE CARE AND GOOD LUCK WITH YOUR LIFE AND THE PEOPLE AROUND YOU!
Wonderful! I started writing FLAHERTY'S CROSSING as personal therapy after losing my beloved father to colon cancer. You might say I was angry at him, at God, at the world in general. However, after writing this story I had the opportunity to really look into my heart and consider the fact that so many other sons and daughters have had to deal with similar circumstances. Rather than a memoir, my novel evolved into a fictional journey which brought about the resolution I needed to find. I never expected this exercise in writing to go to press or win so many awards. But as a result, I have arranged for all my proceeds to go to the Providence Medical Foundation's colon cancer research department. I've now come to the conclusion good things can grow from some of the worst times in our lives.Kaylin :D
Hi Kaylin,
How are you doing? Yes, it has been VERY AMAZING! I cannot believe all of this happened to me... But, I have realized the purpose in my life, now. That is why I had to write this book, "MY MIRACLE." I simply had to share my life with other people. People that might be going through what I had to go through or some kind of life struggle, this book can be a great source of comfort. Several people have emailed me and said how much my book has changed their life (for the better). THAT IS SO AWESOME because I love hearing from people all over the world. You can read some of these people's remarks on http://SharingMiracles.net.
Take care and God bless :)

Gary Val Tenuta at Night Owl Productions did my own book trailer, Jen,www.joanhallhovey.com and he's very reasonable. $99 for a short video. Some of the bigger companies charge hundreds. I'm sure he could do an excellent trailer for your memoir. Tell him I sent you. -:) Let me know how you make out.
I'm glad you came through your terrible accident with worthy goals and a new appreciation of life. They say what doesn't kill us makes us stronger, and I believe that's true. I wish you great success with your book~
We are each of us, in our own way, miracles~
Hi everyone, my name is Rodney. Eighteen years ago I had a very bad accident and just published a book about my whole life. The book is called, "MY MIRACLE." It is based on a true story about an aimless youth experiences a major Traumatic Brain Injury/Surgery, coma, and eventually has to relearn everything over at 21 that resets his priorites and get him on the right path to discover the educational system, life, and God. While waiting for the book to be completely published, I built a website, http://SharingMiracles.net so people can purchase this wonderful, inspiring, educational book, but also join in or share their own life experiences or miracles. Please visit the website and share your experiences with others. If you would love to learn about life, Traumatic Brain Injuries, life before and after the accident, and how life can become much different years later please read "My Miracle."
AND, if you would LOVE to help my MINISTRY please visit http://SharingMiraclesToSave.net. It has over 1000 Major Retail Stores that we love and trust. By doing this, you will be allowing my Ministry to help other people who are in need with home projects, items, food, and any other need.
I have been given a second chance at life! Please join me and give to others who are not fortunate as you and I...
Thank you and have a wonderful day! Rodney
Lovely website, Jen. Your book sounds very interesting. Mental illness is devastating when it strikes a family. Most of us have family members and friends who have suffered with this debilitating illness. I'm glad you are back on track and have a busy and industrious life. My best wishes to you. Laurel

Hello, everyone. Thank you for this group. I am an author, who just published her first book, a memoir entitled Musical Chairs. My book does, in fact, have a website: http://www.musicalchairsbook.com
and a trailer, although I did this trailer on a very low budget (none) so I'd be thrilled to get any suggestions on the matter. Moreover, how does one go about creating a trailer for a memoir?
I suppose these are the sort of questions many new authors have.
I would be thrilled to hear any feedback about my book or site. Thank you all.
Warmly,
Jen
I actually worked with an artist friend of mine, Richard Ferguson. He lives in Gresham, Oregon and is incredibly talented.
Hi Dee:I recently found out the importance of shorter videos. After posting my 4 minute video, I got 280 hits; but when I posted my 2 minute video on YouTube, I got 1500 hits. Check it out: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Idl7XJijK...
I also discovered the effectiveness of updating your website regularly and am presently adding some interactive games.

FLAHERTY'S CROSSING
Champagen Books, February 2010
Hi, fellow writers/readers. I'm a multi-published author who writes paranormal romantic suspense/comedy with psychic abilities and strange happenings. I absolutely love writing and do so full time as my job.
I'm in the process of working on trailers now. I'd love any great tips on how to do so low cost and easily as my first release (out of 19) will come December 10,09 called Small Packages-A Christmas Story, by Franny Armstrong, from Red Rose Publishing.
I have many favorite genres but I think Paranormal is the best for me and Christine Feehan is my favorite author.
Do you visit author's web sites? Absolutely, everyday I am visiting sites and soaking up excellent information about writing and marketing etc...
Do you watch book trailers? Yes, I do. Some are awesome, some...so so. I watched Christine Feehan's first one, and her latest yesterday. What a difference! It sure made me think about the progress one can make when one is informed.
I look forward to meeting you all.
Hugs
