The Wordy Shipmates by Sarah VowellA little slow to begin with but it picks up as you go along. I'm not sure if its wordy Winthrop quotes or references to Abu Ghraib that make it drag initially. Treatment of the Pequot War and Anne Hutchinson are quintessential Vowell.
