Hahaha, so I've heard! I know the plot details and thought that to myself.

2047735 I felt that the last book just didn't have enough of the story built up, it felt like it only started AFTER her baby. Otherwise, I personally really liked the series and hate it when people bash on it when they hav'nt even read it.

So excited for the new movie!

message 60: by ♥ Brigid ♥ (new)

886144 i agree, i hate when ppl just hate popular books because they think it makes them "different" or something. lol.

aaahhh can't wait for "new moon" movie ;D

message 61: by Angie, YA lovin mod!! (new)

86285 Yea I agree about after the baby. Before that it seemed more like a romance novel.

2047735 Oh wow I hadn't seen that yet, thanks Angie!

message 64: by ♥ Brigid ♥ (new)

886144 ohmigod *dies* i've watched it a zillion times. it looks so awesome. :) lol. i love jasper attacking bella in slo-mo ... and jacob <3 hehehe ^_^

message 65: by Angie, YA lovin mod!! (new)

86285 Did anyone watch the MTV movie awards? Twilight won a lot of awards and you get to see a lot of the actors. Kristen even swings her award across the stage by accident.

message 66: by ♥ Brigid ♥ (new)

886144 haha niiice XD

message 67: by Nicole (new)

2047735 I didn't actually watch it, but I heard about it!

She is supposed to be clumsy so..."

hahaha, this made me laugh. I like your points.

message 69: by Haley (new)

1552833 lol i love twilight, but honestly, Bella is a flake.

message 70: by Nicole (new)

2047735 Well, I liked the story, but the writing style is pretty bad, and in no way would Bella have been my choice for a heroin.

1958329 Sara wrote: Personally, I hated the series. Hahaha- okay well that is not fair. I liked the first book. Despised the second...and could not even bring myself to finish the rest. It's quite rare that I do not finish a series but I feel as though she plugged the other books, just because she felt like it- not because there was anything left to say. Alas, Im sure many would disagree with me :P
Not me. I actually agree with you. I liked the first book when I read it, I told myself I liked #2 and #3, but whenever I'd try to re-read 2 or 3, I just couldn't get into it. Too boring. I got sick of Bella/Edward because it was basically the same thing over and over and over in each book. There was too much emphasis on B/E and not enough use of other characters. I read Breaking Dawn when it came out because I wanted to finish the series and see exactly what Meyer was going to do with it. I hated BD. It was awful.
*SPOILERS*
I hated that Bella got a baby after all, I hated that Meyer wrote the weird twist with the baby and Jacob, I didn't like how Bella got the most perfect of perfect endings, with no real sacrifice. She got to keep everything we were told she'd have to give up. I didn't like how all the characters were so out of character, and most of them under used. I hated that there was such build up for a Volturi battle and it fizzled with talk that bored me to tears...literally.
*END SPOILERS*

After BD, not even Twilight felt the same. It was all just ruined for me. I think one of the problems with the Twilight books, is that they are very repetitive. You could cut a 1/3 to almost a 1/2 of each book and they wouldn't be losing anything important. Meyer just went overboard on the lovey dovey fluff and Bella was just too much of a Mary Sue. She's a terrible heroine, IMO. But what I really disliked about the books, is when I read them, I felt like perfection and beauty were just too important, as it was mentioned quite a bit throughout the books. It just came off as very shallow.

2222361 I have to say at first i was in love with twilight (all of the books actually) and read them all very quickly. i was a "twi-hard" but then the books got around the school and its all anybody would talk about! twilight this twilight that "ooo this is just like when this happend in twilight" there was no end!!! and just as fast as i fell in love with the books i ended up completly annoyed with them. now i would say my twilight days are over... (haha!) and i cant stand anything to do with it... they are talked about too much and thats what ruined it for me... i have to say the movie was HORRIABLE!!! i might see new moon to see if its as bad but not because i am some wacko fan... so there you have it... my twilight story ... haha :)

message 73: by London (new)

2222361 also so many people think they can relate to bella but as i see it she is just a character and cannot be related to at all... in any way shape or form

message 74: by Angie, YA lovin mod!! (new)

86285 Looks like now there is a Twilight: The Official Guide.

Hear hear! Yeah, I felt like The Host was just another romance novel masked as a sci-fi book. I haven't read the Twilight series though, and I don't plan on it.

message 76: by Colleen (new)

2323636 I am fascinated that so many people love these books. I read Twilight and was not impressed. 400 pages were back and forth about Edward and Bella and it got old. Fast. I read about half of New Moon and couldn't take any more of the mediocre writing and flat characters. It was utterly dull. Utterly boring. And I've read what happens in Breaking Dawn and I couldn't picture making myself read that load of crap.

Okay so everyone knows im a teenage girl that LOVES romance. I found the series good. But thats just me. I'm 15 and haven't had a serious boyfriend yet. So is this me just being a 15 year old girl or has my reading taste gotten as bad as my friends imply?

message 78: by Nicole (new)

2047735 Everyone has their different opinions... personally I didn't like the series that much, but if you like them, don't just hate them because other people do. Don't listen to what other people say about a series, read what YOU like to read.

message 79: by London (new)

2222361 agreed!!

message 80: by Colleen (new)

2323636 Life is too short to worry about what other people think about what you read. Who cares? You preferences are just that. YOURS. :)

message 81: by London (new)

2222361 ya. you shouldnt let other people tell you what is good and what isnt. then you really arent pleasing yourself! and you are all that matters.

message 82: by Angie, YA lovin mod!! (new)

86285 I really like the first couple of books but I liked them for what they are. The writing is not fantastic but it's a quick love story read. I don't think anything is wrong with liking Twilight books and it is great to have different opinions!

message 83: by Brenda (new)

2424743 When I read Twilight, I could see why the teenage girls would love them. I actually liked Meyer's writing style and attributed it to the romance novels I use to read when I was a young girl. I am with everyone who says the Bella character was a little too prima donna. So, I like to introduce my twilight readers to another series along the same vine (human girl falls in love with a vampire) called Vampire Kisses. In this series, the main character is a goth girl who lets no one tell her what to do and is a very strong female character. The books are very short (only about 100-200 pages each) but there is no reputation either.

message 84: by Colleen (new)

2323636 I have all the Vampire Kisses books to read, but I just haven't started on them yet. I am glad they are good!

message 85: by Jo (new)

2457455 i liked breaking dawn i thought is was really good but the ending was a little cheesy. i would have liked her to have left it a bit open even if she wasnt going to write another book to keep people guessing but it was a happily ever after moment that was a bit of a cheesy thing to do after all the drama that happened in the 4 books. Im glad they stayed together though cos i would have been disappointed if one of them died

86285 I've always wanted to get a I love Edward tee-shirt since my husband's name is Edward but I don't know if that's corney!

Who cares if it is corny. I think it is funny. I want a "I love Judge Bob" t-shirt from "I Survived a Japanese Game Show" but I don't even know if they exist. Now that is corny, and I'm proud of it!
