1484882 Hello!
Thanks Alethea! None of my 'real' friends read the sort of books I do; it's like I speak a completely different language than they do. So this group of Snyder fans all together is pretty awesome. . . XD I'm relatively new to Goodreads, but so far it seems pretty cool! :)

~Sarah

2105894 Hi Everyone,

My name is Ashley. I am new and am quite lost. I have never joined a group before, but since I loved Maria V. Synder's books I couldn't resist:-)

1561940 Welcome Ashley! Glad to meet a fellow MVS fan!! Don't worry about being lost- it takes a while to get used to things. I recommend just going to the group home page and scrolling down until you see a discussion you find fascinating. Then you can read what other people wrote and write what you have to say at the bottom of the page. I hope that helps! If you have any other questions feel free to ask!

1069643 If you look at the home page for the group, under the description are a few of the discussions you might be interested in if you're new. I have to say Poison Stories is my favorite ^_^

You can always start your own conversation, too!

2205093 Hi, I've been lurking... Thanks for the invite to the group!

2327207 Hi, im new to this but i thought i would give it a try.

Firstly the Study books were the best books i have ever read and im totaly in love with Valek!
Secondly Storm Glass was amazing, i couldn't put it down.
Thirdly Maria is so nice, i hope everyone has been to her website as it's full of wonderful things - contests and short stories.

I am now a fan for life and can't wait for Sea Glass.

Thanks for this wonderful site who ever maintains it!

message 108: by Angela (new)

1373071 I agree with Reema! I feel like I'm part of the special book club. Maria is definitely my favorite author and I found these books completely by accident but I'm hooked and can't wait for Sea Glass now!

1346897 some of the best books are found by mistake i think, i found the poison series at random

message 110: by Harlequin (new)

1378457 I love when I find an incredible book/author on a random book choice. Nothing better in life. :)

message 111: by Keelin (new)

1346897 yea if its rndom u go into reading it without knowing what others fink of it

message 112: by Reema (new)

2327207 I found them as they were on the recommended shelf at Borders. I bought them all together and read them one after the other. Best thing i ever did!

Cool! I wonder how they got there (other than being awesome, of course) -- if it was a publisher thing or if a staff member was all ^_^ *heart* Poison Study... just idle bookseller curiosity on my part.

I think it's a staff recommended wall. Theres also another wall where they have the Richard and Judy top 'however many' books. They are two TV show hosts who do season read things!!!

message 115: by Keelin (new)

1346897 non of the books they ever recomend are any good in my opinion. der all too adult for people my age.

message 116: by Reema (new)

2327207 How old are you?
The ones on the main shelf normally don't interest me but in the shop near me they have another shelf in the fiction area with some good books. That's how i found the Study eries and Graceling and a load of other good books.

message 117: by Keelin (new)

1346897 16 this septmeber. i found the study series on a self in asda.

message 118: by Reema (new)

2327207 You're a lot younger than me so i could see why you wouldn't want to read them just yet. Wow about asda, i'll have to check out the asda book section more often.
You should try reading Trudi Canavan(all of her's are great) and Karen Miller's first 2 books (Kingmaker, Kingbreaker is the name of the seies) I wouldn't recommend her trilogy - they were ok but were really slow reading. I'm quite late to reading,i really hated it at school, so i like easy reads, nothing that makes me need to think too hard!

message 119: by Keelin (new)

1346897 nope im the opposite. i need da hrder books otherwise i finish dem in a day r so. the harder the better cuz i fnd myself re-reading the book about a week later. i love reading but finding the boks i like is actuslly quite hard but i keep trying. :L:L:L:L:L:L:L

Nophoto-f-25x33 New to the group not to MVS. She has been recommended by the library where I work since Poison first came out! I have hooked my daughter (13) and my sister-in-law (over in Turkey). The books make great gifts.

Oh noes, now I want to go back and try to find every single newbie I didn't personally say Hi to, since I know that's not true! ^_^ Not for lack of trying, though.

Hi Penny! Hi Angela! ... (goes to member list, hits sort by "date joined" aieeeeee! when did we almost hit 300 members?!?)

message 126: by Reema (new)

2327207 Sorry maybe i shouldn't have said anything!!!!
Are there really 300 members? Wow
Can you see where the members are from? How many from the UK?

message 127: by Alethea (new)

1069643 Um, we're at 299!

message 128: by ~♡Katie♡~ (new)

message 131: by Alethea (new)

1069643 We turn 1 year old on 9/18!

Oh, that sounds like a good contest date, too... hehehe.

message 132: by Reema (new)

2327207 I think you guys should do something special! You could set up a new link for ideas....

message 133: by Kimberly (new)

1295268 How about a contest that starts on 09/09/09 and the winner is decided on 9/18? I think that would be funny.

message 134: by Reema (new)

2327207 What about a skype confrence call (its free) where Maria could read a chapter of the new book?

message 135: by Alethea (new)

1069643 oooh! I'll have to run that by her. She has such a cool voice. If you've never heard her, I just found a video someone shot at CapClave: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dGwb_02H9...

message 136: by Reema (new)

2327207 I've already seen it, she does have a great voice to listen to.

1968260 Hello, my name is Laurie but I go by TimeStandStill. I was told about your group during a chat with Maria with TwilightMoms and MundieMoms, both groups I'm very proud to be a participator of. Books are my OCD passion and these books are some of my most valued. I am sort of the literary reference in my department at work and these books are always at the top of my list to recommend.
