45237 Hi I'm Anne Whitfield.
I've been writing for over eleven years and been a reader for a lot longer.
A love of historical fiction started at an early age and soon the stories in my head demanded to be heard. While researching for my hobby, genealogy, I began to write my first novel and, the stories that had been company for years, suddenly became real on the page.

Having written ten novels and several short stories, I'm also active within the writing and reader community. I'm a member of Romance Writers Australia, Romance Novelists Association UK and Historical Novel Society.

I write historical sagas and modern romance.

1371674 Hi Shelagh and other members of the PA group,
My name is Chelle (pronounced Shelley) and I am happy to say that I became a Vanilla Heart Publishing author just this past year. I have Bartlett's Rule and Forgotten already out and two more books already in the queue, Within the Law & the re-release of Courage of the Heart.

I know that you will all understand... isn't it just the coolest to look at a book with your name on the spine! I think it is the most exciting thing to think of how many people read my words, it really goes to my head (LOL).

Thanks for welcoming me into this group.

Glad to be on Goodreads.

839763 Did I ever introduce myself? I've been running around in circles what with conditional contracts and editing and raveling and such...so if I didn't, I'll do so now, and if I did--just excuse the repitition, please!
My name is Toni V. Sweeney. Under my own name, I write sf/fantasy adventures, as Icy Snow Blacktone, I write romances, some with a paranormal touch. I published my first book in 1989 and have had 7 others published since then with two scheduled for this year and four tentatively scheduled for 2009. On 9/24, The Wild Rose Press will release "Love, Vampire Style" a short story for download; "Demon in Blue Jeans" another short story will be available on 10/29, and THREE MOON STATION a novel will be an e-book in December, out in print in March, 2009. My short story "Well Met by Moonlight" will be coming out in WOLFSONGS (anthology) in December. Next year, Lyrical Press has scheduled JERICHO ROAD, EARTHMAN'S BRIDE and WHEN THE CONDOR RETURNED, and BLOOD SIN is tentatively contracted by Leucrota Press. I'm presently editing BLOOD SIN.

I also have a website www.tonivsweeney.com, a myspace page and a video on YouTube.

1516718 Hi
I am a first time author published in May this year by Vanguard Press an Imprint of Pegasus Elliott McKenzie. My novel has a distinct modern day mafia appeal to it and the inspiration came from watching all the cult mafia movies as I grew up. The book spans across the lives and loves of two Italian brothers, who eager to escape their murky past relocate to London where they open a prestigious nightclub. It’s not long before their past comes back to haunt them and present day enemies begin crawling out of the woodwork. With mafia style rivalry, jealousy, extortion, corruption and murder to contend with the plot will leave you on the edge of your seat! Check out http://pegasuspublishers.com/product_inf...
I would love to see my novel as a movie and if anyone has any advice on how to make this happen please let me know.
I have since wrote another novel and am now looking for an agent - any recommendations please. All comments/advice gratefully received.
J Lou

1391890 Hello everyone

I am also a member of the group. I am Philip Spires and there's lots of info about me and my books on my ewbsite at
http://www.philipspires.co.uk

I have two published novels, A Fool's Knot and Mission, both of which are set in 1970s Kenya. I am in the process of finishing (in the next 24 hours) a set of stories set around an idea of travel, Voyagers, and a third novel is already under way. It's called A Search For Donald Cottee and is a parody of Quijote (I hope!)

Best wishes to everyone

message 22: by Ann (new)

1228967 Hi All,
I'm Ann Wilkes. Author of Awesome Lavratt and numerous sf stories. I actually did slip in a non-sf one to an anthology this month. ;)

I write mostly SF, but have also been known to write other quirky or poignant stuff. I have two blogs,(Actually way more but two that I keep up faithfully.)a website, and I'm on tons of networking groups. I guess I better add this one, too, huh? Anyway, if anyone's curious about the inner workings of a sf writer, you can jump on over to my bio at annwilkes.com. The list of networks is there as well. LinkedIn is the one that's really hoppin' right now. Anyone linkedIn here?

I'm off to hawk my book at a local book fair in a week and then to read from my memoir that is in an anthology the following week. Next month, it's off to a SF convention for same in OR, USA. Finally lining up some gigs again after a slow summer.

I really should be reading. I think I'm still in a funk over the death (yesterday) of my cat. All the more reason to be writing, and reading, eh?

Oh, one of my blogs has an invite to participate in an agent's survey for published writers that might be of interest to some of you.

And of course, let's not forget what today is (for those in the States). :(

I have a new release coming out on Halloween called A Twilight Abduction, which is the third in a series. After that I'll be working on yet another paranormal story, but not in the series.

To find out more, check out my website at http://www.christiesilvers.com

985231 Hi, I'm Tara S. Nichols (The "S" is to discern me from the other Tara Nichols, the porn star, (like that's the only thing that separates us! LOL) sorry, off topic.

I see quite a few familiar friend's names here at this group which is always exciting.

I'm a published author with my first two releases available through Cobblestone-press. Oasis of my heart and Secrets of Summer are contemporary romance (edging toward erotica) e books.

I also have two more contracts signed. One is Criminal Caress a raunchy erotic novella about three thieves in a department store that will be coming out with Forbidden Publications and another erotic novel titled Gamble's Game coming through Siren Publishers sometime in January of 2009.

I really enjoy writing erotica and have made it my focus as of late. My next projects are an erotic contemporary masquerade/cult story that I hope to see in print in the coming year as well as a few erotic paranormal novellas.

On the side I moonlight under another pen name to write YA but thats another story.

Feel free to visit my two main blog sites at www.tarasnichols.blogspot.com and www.myspace.com/tarasnichols

1545259 Hello all. WolfPointe is my first published novel (Twilight Times Books) and I have been so very unproductive since. Seems like all the work just drained the creativity out of me..... But I figure it will come back. Two projects. A sequel to WolfPointe and the publication of the very first novel I wrote (Starshot). But for now I am just talking about it.

1505061 Hi Tara,

1514628 Hi Jessica,
you are in a great place to write about the civil war. My hometown is York, PA., and have visited Gettysburg often.
Review of my book,To Beirut and Back,ISBN: 1-4241-3853-1, was done by the York Daily Record. My website has that story: http://www.freewebs.com/abemarch.

I'm retired and living in Germany but I visit York to see my relatives. On my last visit I drove through Gettysburg. Perhaps our paths will cross someday.
