I have to say this is a great idea for a group. Many thanks to those who started it.

I've been going through the American poetry section of my local library, as well as picking up poetry at used bookstores. So the books I review will only rarely be new releases. Here are the books I've read in full thus far in 2011:

1. The Little that is All by John Ciardi--reviewed
2. Driving to Biloxi by Edgar Simmons--reviewed
3. Now and Then by Robert Penn Warren--reviewed
4. Under Milkwood by Dylan Thomas--reviewed
5. Devil's Wine by Sue Scalf--reviewed
6. Boaz by Thomas Wilkerson--reviewed
7. Banish Misfortune by R.T. Smith--reviewed
8. Spoon River Anthology by Edgar Lee Masters--reviewed

When I've got reviews up, I'll post them in the review section. Some of them I'll have to reread in order to give a worthwhile review.

Hi Jen -
Thanks for joining. I've learned of a lot of good poets in this group. Like most people here I read a lot of poetry but think the reviewing process helps me think about what I liked and didn't and why.
welcome

(Hi Rob! - is this the beginning of your list? You'll want your own string. Let me know if you need help.)

Rob the Obscure | 11 comments No, S. I was actually in a sarcastic mood and posted a "list" with three of the worst collections of poetry I've ever read.

Sorry - tongue-in-cheek.

laUGH - ok, just looked at the titles.

It is really a pleasure reading your reviews, Jen. I look forward to next year, too.

Jen (jppoetryreader) | 965 comments Mod
Thanks, Sarah. I wish I had more time to read the reviews of others. And the books they review! This is a great idea for a group and I'm extremely glad I found it.

27. The Last Magician by Stephen Corey (c. 1987)

I seem to have more time for than I expected and a few slim books of poetry that were waiting to be read.

Alrighty--I think this really is my last book of poetry for 2011.

28. My Wicked Wicked Ways by Sandra Cisneros
