It was important in that Goodreads was a year younger then and those who had fallen for it wanted to promote it above the other sites in the poll -- this whole thread is old aside from a few tail end posts.
Go to those books' pages, and you'll be able to see the discussions. Here's the page for the first one you mentioned. I only see one discussion (and it's not only about that book), but it has over 1300 ratings and over 200 reviews.Have fun!
Thanks for posting that Rachael. Wouldn't have thought to go back and check. It's well deserved. Hopefully, some new members will find the site from the win.
I just noticed and figured others might like the update: GoodReads won!http://bookroomreviews.wordpress.com/200...
I voted for Goodreads too! I tell everyone about this site & have the link for it on my myspace.com & facebook.com profiles. :)
Barbara,Thank you very much indeed for posting that link. Yes, one can vote for only one or two categories. Rivka is correct. Actually, the rules say so. Moreover, I backtested it by logging out (after I'd emailed the link to myself) and going back.
I was able to vote in the categories I'd left blank, the Goodreads category was hidden (since I'd voted).
Now, thanks to Barbara, I have a list of the best book blogs to visit and two sites I'd never heard of to join!
:-)
Yes, I voted too, but I voted in just one other category and I'm not sure whether that will make me vote seem as legitimate as a flled ballot.
On the My Friend Amy booksite, they are voting for best blogs and booksites. goodreads is nominated for best community book site. You can vote on the following page, just scroll down toward the bottom for the book community vote:
