2225408 For the sake of the argument, say Nostradamus wasn't full of bull shit and he really did identify 3 anti-Christs; why do people postulate that Hitler is one based on his murderous atrocities but Chairman Mao Zedong is never thrown into the debate? Is it that Hitler's ideology was more detrimental to society as a whole? But I might only be coming to that conclusion because I'm from the West.

The ones on the shelves have more of a Siberian-style winter coat of dust rather than a jacket :0)
But I have run out of shelf room so I have piles all over the house. About once a month the piles start to wobble because they are too high or there are too many small books at the bottom so I rearrange them, dusting them in the process and figuring out what I must read next.
If a book on a shelf takes my fancy it is removed, dusted thoroughly with a damp cloth and placed on one of the piles.
I hate dusting but I love fondling books :0)

2558548 Now that I noticed, Eric Bana played in the movie Troy. I liked that movie.

message 10802: by Queen (new)

2558548 I can find them but not sure if anyone snagged a few. looool @ Fiona: Which is better to dream kisses or cookies?

message 10801: by Fiona (new)

1356469 As long as you can find them again Queen!

I had a dream that I got to kiss Eric Bana last night. I was very pleased! :D

message 10800: by Queen (new)

2558548 is it usual to dream about the peanut butter cookies you hid from everyone?

I don't mind laundry. I find something soothing about sorting it into piles. I hate ironing so I just don't buy stuff that needs ironing. I haven't ironed for a couple of years.
I also hate dusting so I don't so that either.

Nophoto-u-25x33 I like laundry. I also like ironing. it lets you have an excuse for not doing 5th grade homework. I also like cookies.

Everywhere seems quiet when I'm on holiday that's why my nickname has always been chatterbox :0)

We went with only 49kg of our 80kg (4*20kg) allowance so we managed to bring all our purchases home with us except the crabbing net whose handle was too long :0(

message 10792: by Esther (new)

141331 Hi everyone!
I'm back from my fortnight in England.
Yes people gave me books, my mother bought me books, I bought me books and I bought my children books.
Unfortunately we were too busy sightseeing to get much reading done.
And of course I missed you all

message 10791: by (G)Emma (new)

611251 Oh my god, I haven't been here for ages. Hi?

message 10790: by Fiona (new)

1356469 Oh dear, will you be smack in the middle? Hope you won't be too badly effected by it.

message 10789: by Petra X (new)

1237196 Tropical depression Ana tomorrow and maybe Hurricane Bill at the end of the week. Current gets turned off when the winds reach 50 mph. That means No Internet.

message 10788: by Emilee (new)

934927 P that is so funny about your need for internet. I think I would do the same thing....

If you lived in a rainforest on a tiny island two and a half thousand miles away from the nearest mainland, you might go batty without internet too! There's only so many times a girl wants to sit on the beach under a coconut tree sipping a pina colada - unless she has internet on her laptop.

message 10786: by Fiona (new)

1356469 I think Petra, you are pretty much worse then me. I think you are in need of therapy!

I may be nearing that... it's just the whole sense of being disconnected and when you read or see something and want to find out about it you can't.

And the people and friends you know on the net, and GR...

message 10785: by Ann from S.C. (new)

1272254 Haha...The things we do for the internet!

message 10784: by Petra X (new)

1237196 OK, I have a confession. You have to take this as if this were a meeting of Internet Addicts Anonymous, its that serious.

I had to go to hospital for a procedure and there had just been a hurricane, so no current. I checked into a hotel in the marina the day before the op, had the procedure and spent the next 5 days in the hotel until the area got current back. I told my husband that the clinic said I had to have access to a nurse (the manager's wife was a nurse which was why I used the excuse) simply so I could be somewhere with internet. I left the kid with the husband and I didn't feel guilty at all and I didn't think it was a waste of money either.

message 10783: by Lisa Julianna (new)

1540288 LOL @ Petra...I'm not any better.... I would go nuts without the internet for a day.

It is hurricane season now and I dread it. I have tinned food, I have a cistern, my house is safe, I have a cell phone, I can recharge my laptop through my truck, but without current I can't get internet. If the wires blow down, I live in the LAST area of the island that will be fixed: no-one worries about rainforest villages with only 20 or so houses strung out over a mile or so. What will I do? Will I emigrate to another island or will I put a mattress on the floor of my shop in town and sleep there. I think you can guess what the answer is!!!

Lol, I think Petra you are in definite need of rehab, but so am I as I think I'd panic now if I had to go more then a day without.

1237196 Emilee wrote: "Wow it seems like forever since I have been on in this group. I didn't have internet for two weeks. exceedlingly depressing. But I am back."

I would have found that hard to live with. I have to do two flights to get to the UK and that is a whole day without internet and I feel deprived. Flying back I come via Miami and there is a three hour layover so I pay $9.95 just to sit in the lounge on the internet. Do you think I am addicted?

message 10779: by Lisa Julianna (new)

1540288 Glad you are back Emilee....so now that we are all talking in here again does that mean we have to go to rehab again? LOL

message 10778: by rebecca j (new)

1413603 My neice got one of those for her baby- and we all had to play with it! We (my sister and I) used to watch Smurf cartoons with the kids. Now our kids have kids!

message 10777: by Emilee (new)

934927 I got the cutest smurf today. It talks. I am such a geek. It looks just like my avitar.

message 10776: by Emilee (new)

934927 Wow it seems like forever since I have been on in this group. I didn't have internet for two weeks. exceedlingly depressing. But I am back.

2203681 It must have worked! It was very nice today! I have about 50 coupons in my purse that have far passed their expiration dates.

message 10767: by rebecca j (new)

1413603 Has anyone else been to see the new Terminator movie? I loved it! I've been a terminator fan for years, and the new younger faces in this one didn't hurt it at all. Just what I like, sci-fi, action, and hot men!

message 10766: by Emilee (new)

934927 Sorry Sherry. I should have posted sooner.

I let coupons expire all the time. I guess sometimes i don't need anything.

message 10765: by Sherry (new)

2097186 Shit! I had a coupon to use by today....totally free $15 from office Depot for rewards...they're closed and it expires today :(

didn't realize until i saw your post, emilee, what day it was *sigh*

message 10764: by Emilee (new)

934927 It is so hard to believe that tomorrow is June 1st! Wow the year has flow by!

message 10763: by Emilee (new)

934927 so many threads so little time!!!!

message 10762: by Emilee (new)

934927 We actually have had two days of Sun! A pure miracle.

I will send it your way Grace!!!!

message 10761: by Grace (new)

2203681 If it does send some of that sunshine my way, would you!

message 10760: by Emilee (new)

934927 I am so hoping that it doesn't rain today. I feel like mother nature is soaking us in wetness this spring.

The plus is that the grass and trees are very beautifully green but when am I going to mow my 10" long grass if it keeps raining? When is my son ever going to be able to have his ball games?

Rain please give me a little break!!! PLEASE>>>>>>

message 10759: by Emilee (new)

934927 I hoard books too Allison. But I did get rid of clockwork orange. I did not like that one.

message 10758: by Grace (new)

2203681 Lol, same here. Swaptree and Bookmooch have really gotten me too thin out my library somewhat because I get new books to replace them.

message 10757: by Allison (new)

1637878 I would tell you to DUMP IT!!!! no matter what, if you don't like it. lol.

I used to be a major hoarder, but I finally realized I don't have room to own every book in the world (wish I did!) so I have been really good lately about getting rid of books I'm not overly fond of.

message 10756: by Grace (new)

2203681 Scratch that. I just realized that the copy that I have was printed in 1949 so I'll keep it just because it is fairly old.
