Speak was one of my top books of the year. I thought it was amazing.

I went to the library yesterday, and as usual, made a stunning display of my complete lack of self-control. I always go in thinking I should get just 3 or 4 books so that I still have time to read some of the books that I have on my shelves at home. I never seem to keep to that resolution. Yesterday being a prime example, I ended up 7 books.

They are:
Eon Dragoneye Reborn by Alison Goodman
Fire by Kristin Cashore
The Servants' Quarters by Lynn Freed
Wintergirls by Laurie Halse Anderson
The Everafter by Amy Huntley
A Long Way Down by Nick Hornby
Lament The Faerie Queen's Deception by Maggie Stiefvater

Now I get the task of figuring out which to read first. Lament and Eon: Dragoneye Reborn are both high in the running so far, but I haven't looked at Fire yet either... :D

so last night i ended up venturing to the library and came home with 5 books. yeah!!!

i started The Fixer Upper from Mary Kay Andrews, and i'm nearly finished with it. this was exactly what i needed, something light-hearted but with a good story to it. i should finish it up tonight, i don't have much more to go.

I loved Rebecca. It was one of my all time favorites. I also enjoyed Mrs. DeWinter as a follow up. It was not as good as Rebecca but it was interesting.

I enjoyed them, especially The Sugar Queen. I put a request in for her next book at the library. It's not out until March, I think.

I just started Rebecca by Daphne Du Maurier and am loving it! I love the writing and am already feeling a connection to the characters! I'll also be reading Wuthering Heights in January.

I just love Montalbano novels. It's like a slice of life with a nice mystery on the side. My favourite character by far is Catarella. Love him to pieces.

I love this trilogy. Be patient, City of Glass the book is fantastic and the third, could not put it down.

yikes! it's been ages since i've been on here due to the holiday. finally time to relax a bit! i was planning on making a library run tonight to pick up a stack of books, but it's been snowing all day and the commute home was awful, so i'm not sure. i do have a handful of books here at home to read, but i was hoping for some new stuff. i also got a B&N giftcard that's burning the proverbial hole in my pocket, i need to make a list for shopping soon!

Just finished The Tale of Genji by Murasaki Shikibu and restarted Beauty The Invisible EmbraceJohn O'Donohue since it had been too long since I had read the first couple of chapters. Genji was a fascinating novel and I'm taking my time with Beauty to let it more or less seep in. Excellent reading.

I read One Thousand White Women The Journals of May Dodd with my in person book group and the discussion was very interesting. It is still a favorite book of the group.

Lisa, I got both "Garden Spells" and "The Sugar Queen" for my daughter for Christmas. I'm sure she'll love them, I did.

I'm almost finished with The Sugar Queen by Sarah Addison Allen. I'm enjoying this one much more than her first, Garden Spells.

Up next is a non-fiction Hidden Power Presidential Marriages That Shaped Our History. I've been looking forward to this one, and it was finally available at my library.

I am still reading One Thousand White Women by Jim Fergus. Very interesting premise and although I am not quite half way through, I am becoming more entranced with it as I read. First day without company or need to go anywhere and it is flurrying --- back to reading!

The Shawshank Redemption is one of my favorite movies. I do not read Stephen King anymore. His books were to weird for me. There are a few that were good for me.

I finished Norwegian Wood by Haruki Murakami and just started reading Shawshank Redemption by S. King

I just finishes The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo and will now read the fourth Percy Jackson book, Battle of the Labyrinth before reading The Girl Who Played with Fire
