2649761 I am reading Snow Flower and the Secret Fan for a local book group. I only have about 100 pages to go. This is different than my normal reads, but I am really enjoying it. I like to learn about different cultures. It makes me grateful for the life I live and the time I live it in.

369169 Dang Jessica, you are flying through books lately! I am gald you liked Eating Animals. I am only still in the very beginning.. where he talks about the fish... I am so scared he is going to warp my head...

2607921 I just finished Unwind by Neal Shusterman. This book was AMAZING! If you like dystopian novels, I would strongly suggest this one!

Very interesting topics brought up, but it's an easy and FUN read.

Next up, The Awakening by Kelley Armstrong. I can't wait to see what happens in this series! :)

Also going to read Go Ask Alice by Anonymous. I have never read it and want to see what the hype is all about.

2799970 I am almost done with the fourth and final book in the Luxe series, Splendor, by Anna Godbersen. The series is actually geared towards teens but I am a bit older than the intended age group. But who cares, right? I am not ready for the series to be over. I do not want to finish Splendor because then I would lose the Luxe books as my companions.

If you like historical fiction and want a fast, easy read, check it out.

1733683 I just finished Fast Food Nation last night and really enjoyed it. It starts out with a history of the Fast Food Chains, moves on to the process with the animals, including an eye-opening account of meat packing, then onto how the restaurants are run and how the employees are treated, then the global expansion of fast food and then onto health issues and how things could possibly be changed or looked at differently. Lots of facts and names but very interesting.
I started The Last Chinese Chef this morning and it started really well. I think I'm going to enjoy this one a lot.

1439853 I just finished Her Fearful Symmetry, which I gave 5 stars. I really enjoyed it!
I also just finished The Angel's Game on audio. I liked it, but it was kind of confusing at times!

Now, I'm onto Dead and Alive and going to listen to Rasputin's Daughter. I started listening to Dismantled A Novel which seems promising, but have to put it on hold so I can work on the Fall Reading Challenge tasks.

1841531 Finished the two related Margaret Atwood's which I loved:

Oryx and Crake
The Year of the Flood

And a really funny Mil Millington:

Things My Girlfriend and I Have Argued About A Novel

The general plot was a little thin but the scenes with his girlfriend were laugh out loud funny.

I really liked the first two - they were audio reads for me. It's been a while, but I remember that I really enjoyed them when I listened to them. I think it will be great for you to read them all three together. They're quick reads too, as Koontz usually is. For me though, nothing has topped Odd Thomas :)
