669573 The Tempting SEALs and Elite Ops run together. Some of the backstory for the Elite Ops characters can be found in the Tempting SEALs series. For optimum enjoyment, I recommend reading Tempting SEALs series first (in order), then Elite Ops (in order):

Tempting SEALs:

1Honk If You Love Real Men Four Tales of Erotic Romance (Includes Tempting SEALs, #1)2Dangerous Games (Tempting SEALs, #2)3Real Men Do It Better (Includes Tempting SEALs, #3)4Hidden Agendas (Tempting SEALs, #4)5Killer Secrets (Tempting SEALs, #5)6Rescue Me (Includes T-FLAC, #12; Tempting SEALs, #6)

Elite Ops:

1Wild Card (Elite Ops, #1)2Night Hawk (Elite Ops, #2)3Maverick (Elite Ops, #3)4Real Men Last All Night Four Steamy Novellas5Heat Seeker (Elite Ops, #4)

886675 No, Kathrynn. "Wild Card" is Nathan Malone, the SEAL that was captured (and thought dead) by drug-lord Diego Fuentes and tortured with this powerful aphrodisiac-like drug. He was mentioned in a lot of the previous 'Tempting SEALs' books, and now he has a book of his own. "Wild Card" is the first book that's a spin-off of the 'Tempting SEALs' series, I believe.:)

Who's the programmer you mentioned? It must be a different guy with the same nickname? Now I'm confused! She has too many series going! lol!

message 3: by Kathrynn (new)

669573 Geeze, now I'm thinking the character (Wild Card) was a name in another book by another author. Maybe an Amy Fetzer or Lori Foster??? He was in a series (romantic suspense) and was guarding a female from a previous books roommate...does that ring any bells?

Now I'm going to mull this over...DRAT!

So, Auntee, would you NOT consider "Wild Card" (the book, LOL) part of the Tempting SEALs? Is it the beginning of a new series? What series name? Her Site doesn't appear to have the info on this one yet. But, sometimes I don't look hard enough for data.

message 4: by Auntee (new)

886675 Kathrynn, the only other character named Wild Card that I recall is Kenny "Wildcard" Karmody (sp?) from Suzanne Brockmann's Troubleshooters series. Is that who you're thinking of?

Okay, this book--"Wild Card"--is the first of a new series called "Elite Ops", I believe. I was just at her site this afternoon and all the info is there. Now I feel like I hallucinated it! LOL!
Ian and Kira from the last 'Tempting SEALs' book are in it (was that "Killer Secrets"?) and of course Nathan was in that book when they finally rescued him, and now he's the hero of this book. So this book is a spin-off from that series, because she ran out of SEALs to write about. There's a bunch of new guys in this one, all part of this clandestine, elite special-ops unit, and I'm sure all of them will get their own story one day.:D
Hope that clears it up!:)

message 5: by Kathrynn (new)

669573 Thank you! That's it.

message 6: by Kathrynn (new)

669573 Alrightythen, I finished "Killer Secrets" Book #5 in the Tempting SEALS series and I did not care for it. I didn't like the plot (the whole drug cartel world in Aruba, crime lords, etc just blows my mind) and, most importantly, I did not like Ian's character. Kira was okay. Ian was too much. The constant arguing between the two. EGADS.

My own fault, I know many of this author's books have the hero/heroine bickering through 90% of the book and screwing their brains out between fights.

Time to read something more uplifting and ROMANTIC, I think.

message 7: by Pamela (new)

884792 I liked Killer Secrets. Not as much as Hidden Agenda. I'm reading Wild Card now and I think its my fave so far. I didn't care for Dangerous Games much. Have not read any of the anthologies of the series.

message 8: by Kathrynn (new)

669573 I'm reading "Wild Card" now. Wow! So far, so good. I've been so looking forward to Nathan's story. Wild Card

message 9: by Kathrynn (last edited Oct 05, 2008 11:50AM) (new)

669573 Well now...check out this video of Wild Card's Nathan and Bella on Lora Leigh's website. Be sure to click on the Wild Card video...

:-)

message 10: by Kathrynn (new)

669573 Finished "Wild Card" this morning and LOVED IT. Intense. Emotional. Erotic. I could not put it down!

It had the same intensity as "Dawn's Awakening" for me. Two books that will stay with me for awhile.

Can't wait for the next one. March 2009. Good grief! Does anyone know who Maverick is? I just popped to her website and browsed around and the synopsis is still listed as "coming soon."

946249 Did anyone else get the free Lora Leigh short story "Nighthawk"? It's part of the Elite Ops/Tempting SEALS series. I haven't had a chance to read it yet, but I plan to soon.

message 12: by Stephanie (last edited Feb 05, 2009 12:43PM) (new)

1768864 Yes, I got it yesterday. I it part of the Elite Op's story. Maverick is due to be released end of February

message 13: by Auntee (new)

886675 Got it too. But I didn't want to start it while I was in the middle of another book.:) Soon, I hope.

message 14: by Isis FG (new)

946249 Curious...I noticed there is an upcoming LL release on GR...Heat Seeker, I think. And it's labeled Elite Ops 4. Maverick is EO 2...so what happened to 3?

message 15: by Auntee (new)

886675 Good question...

message 16: by Cameron (last edited Feb 06, 2009 08:43PM) (new)

Nophoto-f-25x33 I am about half way thru this book and I am loving it.
This is one good book with a somewhat different plot, the only thing that puts me off is I know there is some backdoor in it,I wouldn`t have read it had I known that, but now I know to just jump over it,and glad I didn`t miss such a good story.
It looks like this part of a series-are they all this good and do I need to jump anything in them?

message 17: by Elaine (new)

1301782 I liked Wildcard though not as much as Killer Secrets from the Tempting SEALs series. Thanks for the heads-up on the next EO book. I'll be looking out for Micah Sloane's story.

message 18: by Auntee (new)

886675 Isis, checking LL's website, she has the Elite Ops series listed like this:
1. Wildcard
2. Free story "Night Hawk"--St. Martin's Website
3. Maverick (3/09)
4. Heat Seeker (TBA)
5. Anthology (Hannah's Luck) June 23, 2009

Where did you find that? The page I looked at just had Wildcard and Maverick listed.

EDIT: nevermind...I found it on the printable book list. Now I've got to go edit like four lists over at the RSL group...

message 21: by Isis FG (new)

946249 Guess what I just got at Wal-Mart...

message 22: by Auntee (new)

886675 Darn, mine didn't have it.:(

946249 Auntee wrote: "Darn, mine didn't have it.:("

Well poo on them! I was really surprised to find it. My Wal-mart is horrible at keeping books current. I think they only change their shelves every 2 weeks unless there is a Big Name Author release (Patterson, etc) coming out. Plus, it seemed like this was going to be one of those stick to the release date books.

But hey, I'm not complaining! I'm currently debating starting this one right away and setting aside the one I'm currently reading.

message 24: by Kathrynn (new)

669573 Dang, I went to B&N and they won't release Maverick until March 3rd. Went to Hastings Bookstore and they said they can't sell it until March 31st. Went to three walmarts (shopping for produce) and target (organic food) and no luck.

Ya'll enjoy!

Grrrr!

message 25: by Auntee (new)

886675 Wow, they're real sticklers down there, aren't they?

message 26: by Kathrynn (new)

669573 They sure have been getting that way, Auntee. Doing themselves a disservice though. I'll pick it up at Walmart when I see it.

message 27: by Auntee (new)

886675 Should be there on Tuesday...

message 28: by Kathrynn (new)

669573 What publishing date does yours indicate, Auntee.

Hastings said: March 31st

B&N said, March 3rd.

I've lost my patience with Hastings. Their employee's seem put out about books and what is it with bookstores hiring people that don't read books? They hire these young kids that don't act like they give a rat's ass about a book.

Today, at B&N, in the small "new release" section, they still had books from several months ago! Yet the "new" new releases were filed in fiction or romance. I never know where to find a blasted book anymore and they don't either.

One word: Internet

All these businesses are closing and blaming the lack of shoppers, but that's a load of crap. There are plenty of shoppers out there. It's the business or employee's that are the problem. Put products out there that we want instead of what a business or some idiot behind a desk and out of touch with consumers wants us to buy.

Just chaps my ass. (obviously)

message 29: by Auntee (new)

886675 Both B&N and Amazon list it as March 3rd. Sometimes, my local B&N (and Borders) will put out the new releases the weekend before the Tuesday release date. Who knows, maybe they do that because they have more employees working on the weekend?:)

My local B&N keeps making the romance section smaller and smaller though. I don't think they'll be happy until it's out the door...

message 30: by Kathrynn (new)

669573 The girl at Hastings rolled her eyes when she found out it was a romance...

message 31: by Auntee (new)

886675 Shoot, I wouldn't give them my business. I hate romance 'snobs'.

message 32: by Isis FG (new)

946249 Kathrynn, release date is March 3rd (today)...just got an email from the publisher (because I got that Night Hawk short story) saying it was in stores today.

Is there any other author out there that writes books with this type of story line ex:Elite ops, Seals) I can not get enough of this kind of book. LOVE love lora leigh and just got and finished Maverick. Thought it was a wonderful story. Micah was a great character and the stories just keep getting better.

message 34: by Auntee (new)

886675 Suzanne Brockmann and Marliss Melton write about SEALs, and so does Gennita Low and Christina Skye. Catherine Mann and Cat Johnson have good series about military heroes; Cherry Adair has a good series about counter-terrorist operatives, and Cindy Gerard has a new Black-Ops series. I could recommend all these authors.:)

message 35: by Kathrynn (new)

669573 I second those recommendations! Love 'em. Add Roxanne St. Claire to the mix. She has former military that are bodyguards...Love Cherry Adair's T-FLAC series, Cindy Gerard's and Marliss Melton's books are very good.

Cat Johnson's books don't have the heat or suspense like Leigh, Adair, Gerard and Melton. Cat's are modern romance books involving a military person.

message 36: by Ac (new)

Nophoto-u-25x33 Thanks! Just read the first book in Cindy Gerads Black -Ops series. Still love my Lora Leigh but this series is good as well. Thanks for the other authors.

message 37: by Kathrynn (new)

669573 AC,

I enjoyed Cindy Gerard's Bodyguard series...

message 38: by Cameron (new)

Nophoto-f-25x33 Wild Card-Loved it
Maverick-I loved, loved, loved it,even more than Wild Card. What a great series this can be,I hope it goes on forever

message 39: by Kathrynn (new)

669573 I just finished "Maverick" and I enjoyed it, too. Right now, Micah is my favorite--including the Tempting SEALs characters....:-)

He was so neat!

message 40: by Cameron (new)

Nophoto-f-25x33 I just got the tempting seals today,I didn`t know I should have read them first.
I`m about a quarter through Dangerous Games and was not happy to see the DEA,I am burned out on fighting this never ending drug war,I hope all 3 Seals are not DEA

message 41: by Stephanie (new)

1768864 Dangerous Games was my least fav. The books after are better. If I remember they all have to do with this drug, but the stories are better.

message 42: by Amar (new)

245880 Per everyone's recommendation here, I just started Maverick...like Micah a lot but am not crazy about Risa's woe-is-me character...I mean sure, she has reason but it just doesn't make her an appealing heroine for me. I am going to continue for Micah though.

message 43: by Kathrynn (last edited Sep 28, 2009 02:55AM) (new)

669573 I'm almost finished with "Nauti Intentions" and felt it and the rest of the Nauti series should be included in this group. The series is suspenseful and very hot, so not for the faint of heart. Here's the reading order:

1Nauti Boy (Nauti Series, #1)2Nauti Nights (Nauti, #2)3Nauti Dreams (Nauti, #3)4Nauti Intentions (Nauti, #4)5Nauti Deceptions (Nauti, #5)

message 44: by Auntee (new)

886675 Yep, I think you're right--they are definitely erotic romantic suspense.

1113032 I'm hoping someone can help me here.

I love Lora Leigh's books and have seen the Bound Hearts series. Has anyone read them? Are they over-the-top sexual? And, I can't figure out what order to read them in.

On her site she says **Note** Books II and III are available in print in the book Submission/Seduction. Books IV and V are available in print in the book Wicked Sacrifice. Books VI and VII are available in print in the book Shameless Embraces. Please click each cover for information on the books.

But when I click the cover, it lists only 1 story.

Can anyone help me out here and tell me what order/which books/ etc?

Also, do they need to be read in order?

And which book is book 1? LOL So many questions, so little time!

Thank you in advance!

message 46: by Isis FG (new)

946249 There's a list here with all the books.

They are very, very sexual, especially they early ones. And all involve menage scenes, 2 have menage HEAs. There's also some BDSM.

1113032 Thank you, so much! Do you know if they can be read out of order?

message 48: by Auntee (new)

886675 Do yourself a favor, Uniquely Moi, and read them in order--much less confusion that way.:)

The later books in the series have a little more 'story' to them.

1113032 Thanks, Auntee! I am working on getting my hands on them. Seems like eBook is the way to go even if I have to order them separately.

message 50: by Kathrynn (new)

669573 News! Lucked out and found "Heat Seeker" (Elite Ops, #5) at Walmart today. Spreading the word...
