My car guy suggested Daniel Silva to me last spring as I was sitting in the waiting room reading a mystery. I started in--Silva has written 8 with the central Gabriel Allon character. Allon has 2 jobs, one as a renowned art restorer and one as an agent of Israel. He began his career as part of the Wrath of God, the ones Golda Meir sent out to avenge the hostage killing at the Munich Olympics.
Not bad for summer reading. I have learned a lot of information about the Palestine/Israeli conflict. There's a nice connection to the European Art World, and settings I'm not used to: Venice, Zurich, Berlin, as well as Israel
