1684155 I LOVE Roses For Mama, also, It's SOooooo good

but A Gown Of Spanish Lace, and Love Comes Softly, and A Bride For Donnigan are also VERY amazing...

I'd have to say that I like almost all of them!

Nophoto-f-25x33 Does anyone know where I can find the movie "Love Finds A Home" For free without downloading or registering online?

2311947 The Tender YearsI would have to say this is my most favorite book by Janette Oke.

message 19: by MiJo (new)

656969 No, I couldn't find a good one of her.

1357277 About the picture for the group. Do you have one of Jannette Oke?

message 17: by MiJo (new)

656969 I just started the Songs of Acadia series and haven't been too glued to it, like I was with the other two (GOSL & Too Long A Stranger), but it is getting more interesting as I go along. :)

861743 Yes, writing is fun, though I have to be in the mood for it (I know true writers just make themselves write even if they aren't in the mood, but...).

I forgot about my other favorites, "Another Homecoming" and "Tomorrow's Dream." They are in a more modern time-period, but they made me cry and were very good.

I also loved The Canadian West Series (though I've only read the first two so far) and the Song of Acadia Series.

656969 My mom doesn't want to have us all starry eyed after reading books. That shouldn't be their purpose so she is very strict on what novels we read with romance.

Yes, writing a novel, Melissa... been working on it a lot lately. Need to weed out some of my own romance and then have my mother edited it so we can publish it. I love writing. So much fun, and I enjoy it more than reading, although it does give you an example of good writing. :D

I haven't read that one yet BlueJane, but I'm planning on reading them all....

660281 I would have to say that my favorite Janette Oke book would be A Bride for Donnigan.
I LOVE that one!
I also like the Love Comes Softly, and the Canadian West a lot, but I think A Bride for Donnigan is my very favorite.

861743 Oops, I meant I've hardly ever finished any of the novels I've started. *rolls eyes*

message 12: by Melissa (new)

861743 MiJo--you're writing a novel? Cool! I love to write, too, and I'm writing a novel, too. (I've hardly ever started any of the novels I've started, and I've started many over the years, but I hope I can finish the one I'm currently working on and perhaps publish it.)

861743 I really like "A Gown of Spanish Lace." Not sure it's my favorite, though. I really liked the "Seasons of the Heart" series. Oh, and "A Woman Named Damaris." :)
I also think Wick focuses too much on romance, at least in the one I read by her (The Princess). I really like Beverly Lewis's books, though, even though they do include a lot of romance. Her's are not heavy with kissing and stuff, so I like them.

message 10: by MiJo (new)

656969 LOL! I love the way she writes. I'm working on getting my novel edited so we can get it published... Oke's books were the inspiration for it, although I'm not sure if I write like her. I love the way she really paints the story in your head, without stifling your imagintion.

MiJo

656969 The thing that I like about Janette Oke is that she doesn't really focus on romance. Actually if there was any more romance in them my Momma wouldn't let me read them. I think that's what about Wick and Lewis I don't like. The Gown of S-Lace might be a good one to start with, but I'm biased. :D

1223448 I actually have only read a few Janette Okes, but I love reading Christian Romances! I've read more of Lori Wick and really love her! What Janette Oke's would you recommend for a beginner? I have the first 5 Love Comes Softly movies and I think I read the first book, but I can't really remember it.

794814 My favorites are Roses for Mama and A Gown of Spanish Lace. :)

437132 I loved "A gown of Spanish lace" ! After that it would probably be "The Bluebird and the Sparrow " I have read a few of the" Love comes softly as well" , And I think they are infinitely superior to the movies .lol :-)

message 4: by MiJo (new)

656969 No, I haven't read any of Lori Wick. I'm not sure I like her or Beverly Lewis (I think it is).

message 3: by Eyebright (new)

651428 I haven't read all of them either, but my favorite of her series that I have read is the Candadian West Series. I love that series. I also adore the Love Comes Softly series.

Also, have any of you read any Lori Wick books? Just curious.

Miss Eyebright

665981 I love that one, but I think the Love Comes Softly Series is my favorite! Actually they may tie! :P
