1130679 Psych on USA. Anyone watch it? This show cracks me up! I love all the kid of the 70s/80s references!

I LOVE psych

325271 One of my very favorites. I love hearing Gus say "Shut up, Sean." I wait for it every episode. I love how Sean is always introducing Gus with the names of famous people or tv characters. This is one of the few shows that I watch the reruns. This show is also unique because every single character is great to watch.

Loved the High School reunion where Sean made all of his movie references. And changed his photo nametag!

45128 THe reunion episode was hysterical! And all those John Hughes movies references! I loved it

1130679 Anyone else disappointed by Cybil Shepard? Don't get me wrong, I dig Cyb but it just sounds like she's acting. I've been waiting for the whole Shawn's mom thing to be filled in so I am totally disappointed.

message 10: by Melissa (new)

325271 I don't like her in this role either. It was a big let down. She's playing the part well I think it's just that it doesn't do her justice. I can't explain it. It just doesn't seem like the right fit.

message 11: by Roxy (new)

1130679 that part is just so blahn. i was hoping Shawn's mom would show use where some of his Shawn-ness comes from.

message 12: by Melissa (new)

325271 Right! She was there while he was in high school. It's not like she wasn't around while he was growing up. I was sort of thinking the same thing - where is the influence on his personality. Guess we'll see if that ever comes up.

1223448 Hey! I'm new to this group, but I saw that you all were talking about Psych and I had to check it out! I LOVE Psych! I think it's one of the best TV shows I've seen! I don't like Shawn's mom. I also don't always get all of Shawn's movie references, but I still love it when he makes them!

message 14: by Roxy (new)

1130679 you've got to be quick to get all of Shawn's ref. I love, love, love his and Gus's chemistry/relationship. So funny!!! It makes me want a friend like that....you know the kind that is always getting you into some kind of odd ball situation. I need some Shawn-and-Gus-Adventure in my life!!

message 15: by Jessica (new)

1163343 that would be fun!

message 16: by Melissa (new)

325271 I'm loving the development of Juliette and Lassaters partnership too. They are getting more and more funny and I find that I'm looking more forward to their scenes. This is a really great show and one of my all time faves.

message 17: by Madison Brooke (new)

1402033 That show is so cool! I love the model one! that is so hilarious! Go black and tan! lol who agrees?

message 18: by Melissa (new)

325271 That was a good one! Especially since Shawn was Black and Gus was Tan! I loved the American Duos episode where they went on the reality talent show. I laughed so hard it hurt watching that!

message 19: by Roxy (new)

1130679 I agree, Melissa Juliette and Lassier are getting funnier.
How about this past week with CHeif's sister and Lassie. Think that will go anywhere? They are making Lassie more and more odd....
"do you think she [chief's sis] saw me tackle the suspect? Wait till she sees me discharge my weapon!"
LOL

message 20: by Melissa (new)

325271 One thing I've missed in the last few is Shawn and Juliette. On the reunion show, they made it clear that Shawn really likes her and they haven't made any progress with that yet. The US Open is trumping Psych for a week or two, but then they are back. Can't wait for more!

message 21: by Roxy (new)

1130679 curses! NOT a tennis fan so it toally unerves me to see tennis on for days at a time.

message 22: by Melissa (new)

325271 Finally, Shawn and Juliette make a connection. A small one, but one none the less. Sad to see that next week is the season finale already. Good thing all the falk shows are starting up!

message 23: by Jessica (new)

1163343 yeah.

message 24: by Roxy (new)

1130679 next week is the season finale? Damn!
I've been kind of hoping Juilette would wise up to Shawn's crush on her and use it to her advantage. Like this week, she wanted him to work the case her way, why not throw a little sex-appeal his way when you ask. I think it would be real funny to see Shawn get a little quivery over a forward Juliette.

message 25: by Mystery Girl (new)

1278787 Hey any of you know where I can watch most of the psych epidoes online? I started watching it at one point but then the channel discontinued playing it. Now I can't find it on any of the Dish channels we have. but I really like it.

message 26: by Melissa (new)

325271 The new season is taking a break for the fall. New episodes should be on again during the winter starting in January. The latest three episodes from season 3 and a few episodes from old seasons are on USA's website. I have my DVR set for it and it keeps catching reruns at 1 or 2 a.m. once a week so it's still out there.

1157941 I can't wait for the new season to begin. Pysch just keeps getting funnier with each show. Gus and Shawn have beat the two guys from Scrubs as my favorite same sex, interracial comedy duo.

message 28: by Roxy (new)

1130679 They do have great chemistry!! I'd be shocked if they didn't get on as well off screen too.

message 29: by Allen (new)

623239 This show is great. Has anyone checked out Mentalist? It seemed like a drama driven rip off of Psych.

The actor that plays Lassiter is actually from my town and my parents are friends of his parents.

message 30: by Mystery Girl (new)

1278787 I've seen the last couple eps. of The Mentalist. It's about this guy who used to go around claiming he was psychic and managed to anger a serial killer who killed his wife and daughter. Now he works with some people from CAD(I think). It is basically a more drama oriented series than Psych. It is ok.

332925 Okay, HA-YOU-JAH (huge) fan of Psych! So exceedingly hilarious!!! All the pop-culture references slay me. I can't get enough of this one! It's the first good comedy in a long, long while in my book!

As for The Mentalist, GAH!! Such a complete rip-off... and really is pretty bad. I've watched it, just because I like the idea of a "real" person who is that attentive to details, but it isn't even done well and the acting is fairly horrid. No thanks!

Give me Shawn & Gus any day of the week - and twice on Sundays!!!

message 32: by Elizabeth (new)

1223448 He doesn't even so much notice details as he manipulates people! Which is actually pretty cool that he can do that so well and smoothly, but so different from Psych! I miss them! Although I liked the first season better then the second and third. Shawn's just a little...different after the first season. But the show is still totally hilarious! What do y'all think? Anyone else like the first season the best?

message 33: by Melissa (new)

325271 I watched the first two seasons virtually back to back on dvd so it's hard for me to say which I liked best. They all blended together a little. I'd say there was more comedy in those two versus the newest season. I think all of the characters have become more important since the beginning of the show so it's changed a bit. I still watch the reruns. I don't think new ones start again until January. That's a long time to wait!

1157941 I barely watched the first season because I really wasn't interested in the show. I started with the second and haven't been able to catch many first season repeats. I'm really mad I missed out on the first shows.

message 35: by Kathy (new)

1544498 I'm looking forward to the holiday special next week. Anyone else gonna watch??

message 36: by Roxy (new)

1130679 Oh! there is a holiday special?!! I'd better go set my DVR!! Thanks, Kathy

message 37: by Roxy (new)

1130679 Christmas episode was ok. Nothing spectacular. But the Peanuts dance after they saved Christmas....hysterical!

message 38: by Kathy (new)

1544498 I agree, it was not their best episode. I loved the Snoopy dance too.

1157941 lol i loved the peanuts dance. they're just so silly

message 40: by Trudy (last edited Dec 17, 2008 10:26AM) (new)

1036503 They stole that from Buffy - lol... who of course stole it from Snoopy...

message 41: by Gaynor (new)

1471564 I'm in the UK and am a recent convert to Psych, but I really love it, and the references to the 70's/80's, which i can really relate to. I also love Big Bang Theory and Chuck too!

message 42: by Roxy (new)

1130679 Hi, Gaynor. I don't get to catch Big Bang often but it is actually much funny then one would think it. i've also recently got into How I Met Your Mother.

1812452 very funny show

message 44: by Gaynor (new)

1471564 I have to say that I didn't really "get" Big Bang the first time I watched it, but I guess my nerdy side has kicked in and now I love it. I haven't watched How I Met Your Mother, though I have heard of it. I'm a bit slow with US shows, it's only now that I'm getting into American Dad haha

message 45: by Roxy (new)

1130679 How I Met Your Mother is on after Big Bang around here. And I agree about Big Bang....you have to let your inner nerd peek through.

message 46: by Allison (new)
