February Pick It For Me
Reserved for Sign-Up's
Take your phone number and add all the digits together, and continue doing this until they resolve to a single number (you don't have to post your actual phone number), and then post that number. For example: 834-576-9213 as a phone number (no, its not really mine)
= 8+3+4+5+7+6+9+2+1+3
= 48 - so 4 + 8
= 12 - so 1 + 2
= 3 (so I would give the number 3)

Like many of you (except with maybe the exception of Photojim since he never keeps a TBR list), I made a vow to try and clean out my stacks of books this year, so in light of them, I present the categories:
A. Out with the Old
1. Pile’s O’Books – Pick a book from your selectee’s list that is lengthy (or that you think could cause damage if it were to fall on them!)
2. Mt. TBR – You have to take a single step in order to start climbing a mountain – pick a book that is smaller (to test out the waters so to speak)
3. Steadily gaining – Pick a book on their list, that you have read and enjoyed
B. In With the New
1. Cresting the Rise – Pick a new book in a series (that is not already on their shelves) that is still in progress and that you continue to read
2. Reaching the Summit – Pick a new to them book that you read in the recent past that you rated 5 stars
3. Its All Downhill from Here – Pick a New to them Author/Genre
C. Go It Alone or With Someone
1. Recommend 2 books that you haven’t read and would be interested in reading. If your partner decides to read one of these, then you should aim to read them as a buddy read.
Explanation of Pairings – you were all paired with someone who’s phone number resolved to the same single digit as you by utilizing a random generator

LOL! Prime numbers. Nice. I can understand why you like them.
As for why I hate multiples of 3? I'm more than a little OCD & have somehow convinced myself that multiples of 3 are BAD! It's ridiculous, right? I added up my house, cell & my fiance's cell numbers & kept getting 9. Dang.

I used to set up my alarm using prime numbers for the minutes and it drove my husband nuts. He would always ask me...Why do you have to set it the alarm for 5:47 or 6:23? LOL!
Sorry, just got home from work. And let's see, I left for work... almost 14 hours ago. OK, rant over. I have the best gig in the world.I'm In and I'm a 4.
We're with you Jim! Once school goes back, I'll be leaving home at 6am, and leaving work at 6pm, getting home just before 7. Luckily, it's only 2 nights a week.3 works really well design-wise. Does that help?

I'm home! I'm excited to do this. A new month and a new book!Still waiting for this month's books to come in from the library. If I don't get it by the end of next week, I'll have to buy it. We'll see.

What's a Pick-It-For-Me Challenge?
It's a group recommend a book thing - works just like a Secret Santa or Xmas Exchange, except that the gift is replaced by a book recommendation. The givee-giver pairings are assigned by a super-secret method with some randomness thrown in (or not so much!). So you recommend some books for whomever you get and somebody else will recommend books to you. After you're done reading your Pick-It-For-Me book, a short post with some feedback - a mini-review of sorts would be appreciated.
Please sign up by posting in this thread. Sign up period will remain open until January 28th at 8pm EST. When you sign up, please provide the following:

For this challenge, you need either HAVE YOUR PROFILE SET TO PUBLIC (preferable) or make the person who'd be doing the recommending to you, your friend. On top of that, I strongly advise keeping your bookshelves updated, otherwise you might end up with a recommendation for something that you have already read.
You'll have until February 2nd at 8pm EST to make your recommendations. Everything will be done in this thread so check it often. Also, please be sure you really want/have the time to participate. Once I pair up people, it makes it difficult to re-pair when someone decides not to participate.
