The ALA awards will be announced Monday morning from their mid-winter conference location in San Diego. I have been looking forward to the announcement as I've been following the discussions in the GR 2011 Mock Newbery Group.

On a side note I just put 2 and 2 together that I will be in San Diego that day. I'm not in the ALA and neither am I a librarian (although that's my dream job, maybe one day).

Any predictions?

Intersting that Manifest has only 42reads and Crazy Summer has715.

Leigh (LeighB) Well, Crazy Summer won two awards, so it'll be around for awhile. Manifest looks good, but I was really surprised. My reaction was "huh? Never heard of it!" Several good non-fictions were eligible and I was sorry a non-fiction didn't win. I'd like to see more non-fictions win.
