A running gag in the series is how someone keeps getting into Eve's stash of candy bars. Who do you suspect is the culprit?

I think that it's a whole bunch of different people. I think that the whole bull-pen has an initiation, that when you get transferred to homicide you have to find and steal the Lt.'s cand without getting caught or leaving any evidence.

BTW, i love how she dusts for fingerprints, and there are none!!

I think its Commander Whitney.
I'm pretty sure it is not Peabody. I will have to double check,but I'm pretty sure it started disappearing before she was transferred over. For that same reason, it can't be Trueheart.

I hope we never find out who it is! It drives Eve crazy! LOL

I think Eve is stealing it! I think she hides it and goes and gets it when she is hungry and forgets that she ate it OR forgets where her last hiding place was and goes to old places. She is generally busy and forgets those sorts of "useless" details. Just a thought :)

Becky, that could definitely be what's happening to the chocolate! I never thought of that!

I like the initiation idea of the disappearance of the chocolate, but then I think everyone is pretty fearful of Eve so that might be "homicide" for the newbies! LOL! The idea of Eve forgetting that she's eaten is brilliant as well. I remember when I was teaching middle school, I always had to move around my personal stash of candy because everyone knew where to go when they got those "sweet urges!" :-D

I admit I thought it was Peabody. You have good ideas though. I like the initiation idea and the idea that Whitney is behind it.

Wow! I'd never thought of it as an initiation thing. What a great idea! Of course, now I'm wondering if it could be Eve's former partner, head of E division, whose name, of course, now escapes me.

That would be Feeney. He IS a very good suspect. Hmmm....

I think it's somebody we either haven't met yet or is not a main character who shows up from time-to-time.

I'm not sure its been decided, but I am sure it is a character we have seen at least a few times. To have it be an unintroduced character would only be fun if it was one of Eve's nemesis from Maintnance, Mira's secretary, or Feeney's mysterious wife. Perhaps Summerset is sneaking in to her office and stealing the candy just to drive her crazy. Although, I still favor Whitney as the culprit... or perhaps his wife.

Hmmm...it couldn't be Summerset as it must be someone who can move in and out of the squad room without being noticed.

Whitney wasn't around originally and they began to disappear early on...it can't be his wife, either - she'd be noticed.

No, it started disappearing before Peabody joined Homicide. Roarke brings Eve chocolate so it can't be him. Could it be the maintnance and requisitions crew? They do seem to be out to get her. Remember when she thought she caught the thief and he CLAIMED he was there to set up her new computer. Sure he had the computer, but perhaps it was just a cover in case he was caught. Perhaps it is a group effort between more than just one department. Homicide, the e-detectives, and maintnance. Baxter and Feeney are in on it.
