"Or perhaps in Slytherin
You'll meet your real friends,
Those cunning folk use any means
To achieve their ends."

"And power-hungry Slytherin
Loved those of great ambition."

"Said Slytherin, 'We'll teach just those
Whose ancestry is purest.'
...For instance, Slytherin
Took only pure-blood wizards
Of great cunning, just like him."

Students in Slytherin are cunning, sly, and have a fierce rivalry with Gryffindor. Their colors are silver and green, and a silver, coiled snake is present on their crest. All students must have...

Name: Kayleight Daughtry

Age (year): 15/fifth year, almost at sixteen in a few weeks

Physical Description: Kayleight is tall with long, black hair. She has a pretty face with clear blue eyes, with a tongue that is as sharp as her skills with a wand, and she always has a smirk playing on her lips. Prone to snarky comments, she always has a witty remark ready for fire. She doesn't speak unless necessary, however, and likes to save her words and conversations for really good topics. Many times, you might see Kayleight with a haughty sneer or a coy smirk on her lips, as she does love being one of the most popular (and hated) Slytherin fifth years.

Personality: Kayleight is bright, but doesn't do well in Care of Magical Creatures or Herbology. She prefers solid concepts like Transfiguration and Arithmancy, which seem less abstract to her, a girl who likes her concrete reality. Much of her dislike of other magical beings comes from her father, who heads a corporation that specializes in the sale of magical creatures (mostly legal, of course). She is haughty and proud, but can be kind at times, and though she despises Gryffindors and thinks Hufflepuffs soft, she admires Ravenclaw students' lofty attitude and witty tendencies. She prefers to think that, if she were not a loyal Slytherin, she'd be placed in Ravenclaw.

History: Not much to report. She has always lived with her mother and father, the pampered only child. Father was always away working for his company, though in the recent years since he became head of said company he's had more time with his daughter. Both parents are magical, and her mother is expecting a child within the next month. Kayleight's best friend is Brooklyn, and the two harpies can usually be seen wandering the halls together, playing tricks ickle firsties from Gryffindor, their favorite pastime.

Of course, Kayleight has had her share of heartbreaks, but nothing like her best friend, Brooklyn has. Therefore, Kayleight's tender side can rarely be seen, when comforting Brooklyn or waiting out a fit. She's patient, yet can be terribly cruel. Watch out for the heartbreaker.

Owl, Cat, or a Toad?: Owl, of course, named Faulco

Wand: Maple, with a unicorn hair center, 11 3/4 inches. Strong, good for Transfiguration.

Patronus (optional): [image error]

Other (like blood status): Pureblood, naturally.

Name: Daniel Summers

Age (year): 18 (seven)
DOB: 17 October*

Personality: Daniel is not one to take losing easily. In fact, that is why he does not do so very often. He is always on top of everything, by grades or otherwise. He is also exceptionally good at Defense Against the Dark Arts and is not one to be crossed.

Because of hid blood status, Daniel was obviously ridiculed by others--older, his age, or younger--but after badly hexing student in his third year, he managed to earn a bit of respect from his fellow housemates. Slowly, he made his way up the latter to where now he is proudly one of the most respected of his house, though there is still a bit of skepticism.

Not one to socialize, most of his time is spent in the library or dormitory, studying or reading. He isn't a fan of sports but does support his house in Quidditch matches.

History: Daniel grew up as a relatively happy boy with a normal life up until the day after his eleventh birthday when a strange woman* dressed in robes and a witch's hat as if it were Halloween showed up, claiming to be from what she called the "Ministry of Magic." She explained to him and his parents that he was in fact a "wizard." Of course, being the level-headed family that they were, they did not believe her until she quite forcefully imposed the idea upon them.

Soon enough, Daniel found himself at Diagon Alley purchasing an array of odd instruments, books, and, of course, a wand. The old man at the shop had told him that it was made from Elm and that he should be wary of rumours floating about Hogwarts of its properties.

As soon as Daniel was sorted, those immature of his house and age decided it best to pick on him. Later of course he got his revenge and cast a Jelly-Legs Jinx on one of his housemates in their common room.

Appearance: A mess of brown hair sits atop Daniel's head. A pair of cool hazel eyes stare boredly through a pair of glasses (not shown) wherever they look, as if he couldn't care less about his surroundings. He has pale skin and always wears an unwavering frown (not shown).

Wand: 11 inches, elm wood and dragon heart string, quite flexible.

Pet: He was always a bit rubbish at Care of Magical Creatures.

Other: 7th year Slytherin house prefect.
Just wanted to clear up any possible confusion:
*One must be at least eleven years old before entering Hogwarts, hence why he is 18. Hermione Granger and I also share this issue.
**I believe it is a representative from the Ministry of Magic goes to each Muggle-born wizard and explains the magical world to them instead of them receiving an owl.

Jenna | 1 comments Name:Journey Alora Phoenix

Age (year):15

Physical Description:Journey has reddish-brown hair that flows in natural waves just below her shoulders. She has pale skin and high cheekbones. She has big piercing grey eyes which keeps any guy locked on her. Pink plump lips which tells people that she's a good kisser, and any guy that knows her well enough, knows how good she kisses. She's tall, but then again, short, which causes her to be called shorty. She's got a small tattoo on her lower back, which only a few guys have seen.

Personality: Journey's known as the good girl/bad girl at Hogwarts. She's sweet and kind to her friends, but when you tick her off, you'll get your head bitten off. She knows how to make people happy, or how to make them mad.

Sometimes she'll just get mad for no reason and be a bitch. Around friends she'll be hyper and bubbly, but when enemies are near, she'll start plotting.

She's smart, which helps when she's plotting pranks or schemes, some teachers actually get nervous when they see her evil smirk.

Owl, Cat, or a Toad?: None

Wand:12" Elm outer layer, Dragon Heartstring core

Patronus (optional):

History:Journey is a spoiled girl. Being the only child she's used to getting everything she wanted, when she wanted it. When she's in pain, her mum or dad will send her a letter with a present. When she broke up with her boyfriend, her dad bought her a gold charm bracelet. When she lost her best friend, her mum took her to the most expensive restaurant in town.

When she doesn't get what she wants, she'll have a BF. Which stands for bitch fit, you'll either get ripped to shreds, or she won't stop yelling.

Other (like blood status): Pure-Blood

Ⓚⓡⓘⓢⓣⓘⓝ (JaseyRae3) | 16 comments Name: Rayne Hawthorne

Age (year): 16

Physical Description:

Personality: Rayne is a go with the flow and laid back person. But, she will easily turn a cold shoulder and be bitchy towards you. No matter, she is a great secret keeper and an awesome friend. Even if she gets into little fights.

Owl, Cat, or Toad?: Owl named Puff

Wand: 10 1/2 inch vine with dragon heartstring

Patronus (optional): hasn't mastered hers yet

History: Rayne is a relatively sweet girl who at first, doesn't seem like she should really be in Slytherin. She is pureblood but was raised by two muggles when her parents were killed by some death eaters in an attempt to show they were still following the Dark Lord. She has had a relatively normal life with her muggle family but, has always wondered who her parents were.

Other (Like blood status): Pure Blood

Kat (SugarAddict) Name: Kellan Keith
Age: 16
Year: 6th
D.O.B: July 15th
Appearence: Standing at a height of 6'2, Kellan is a little taller than average, but soon to be caught up to. But he's a little on the slim side, so it makes him look more lanky that he is. An intense, icy gaze that can warm hearts or shatter them makes up for what he lacks in body physique. Sharp, precise cuts in his jaw and facial features make him look oddly mature and proffesional and older than he is. A caramel tan from days in the sun that runs deep in his skin contrasts his defined but thin blush lips. Dark sandy hair sweeps across his forehead in jagged waves, adding to the angular complexion. He has wide hands and sharp, obsersive eyes. With a grin or a scowl that always gives away what he's thinking.

Yeah, It's me.
Personality: Four words to sum up Kellan? I could care less. He does what he wants, whether it's rolling with some ladies or doing some hard-core paurkor. Growing up into a family of wealth in a city, there were a lot of options for a quirky adrenaline junkie like Kellan. He never cared about anything, and was always trying to prove himself better than other people. Having those little things that set him apart from other people- an ouiji board, a unicycle, rock climbing, BMX biking, who cares? In the end it's all the same, he just adds another skill to his library of everything. He loves a little competition, but he also loves attention. It's part of the adrenaline! He likes to wear aviators and does not like school robes, and usually doesn't wear them, but magic is just another hyper active out put for his wackiness. He takes on this devious, why would I care attitude, with little details that make him stand out from the crowd. Loves to get in trouble, and is used to getting what he wants. If you don't give him what he wants, you can end up in a sticky situation.
Wand: A bleached ivory tone of thick pine wood surrounds the delicate core of a Griffin's feather, with a nasty ability to amplify hexes.
Patronus: To be added at a later time
Pet: A sly, small, clever owl. Unnaturally pitch black with glowing, creepy eyes. Cunningly swift and fast.
History: Kellan grew up with his older brother, Maxwell, and his business woman mother. On the top floor, in their young age. He was always a quirky boy with confidence, even dating girls in the third grade. Whatever qualified as dating back then was. He didn't know his father that well, but his mother was a sleek woman always dressed in a suit that wanted nothing to do with magic. He barely spoke to his father. His mother often spoiled them, and was always bringing home a new boyfriend. Whether it was running around the city unwatched or throwing parties for their private-school friends, it was always something. He had a friendly competition with his brother, of who could be the 'baddest'. Basically he learned how to cruise by himself, and doesn't really depend on anyone.
Blood Status: Pure
Other: Kellan and Brooklyn have a patchy relationship. One day their together, the next day their not. To Kellan, Brooklyn's just another girl that he seems to get along with fairly well. But their fierce attitudes often butt heads, though they both can belong in the 'in' crowd together quite harmonically.

Usako (bbmeltdown) | 219 comments Name: Lillian "Lily" Middleton
Age (Year): 15 (5th)
Blood: Pureblood
Wand: 10" Rosewood Unicorn Hair
Patronus: Seneca White Deer
Pet: Auberon, Monteverde Golden Toad
According to Muggle Records, this toad went extinct in 1989. And that's the way the Middletons would prefer those records to remain. They stowed away this rare breed for their extravagant gardens, full of many other rare or near extinct flora and fauna. Families count themselves among the "In Crowd" when invited to Charity Galas at the Middleton's Mystic Gardens, seizing this opportunity to see the most unusual creatures known and unknown to the world.

Physical Description:
A Venetian Swan
This statuesque and muscular beauty could shatter the looking glass with a heartbreaking blown kiss. Her deadly icy demeanor has likened her to the Black Swan, a raven-haired damsel of alabaster on the threshold of insanity if crossed. Cobalt eyes sharpen with a distant glimmer of a smoldering passion but usually settle to cool indifference when regarding her surrounding. Not a wrinkle can be discovered on her uniform, being absolutely pristine and perfectly in place. Diamonds usually sparkle from her ears and fingers, flaunting the family jewels whenever possible. And her gowns are the stuff of dreams - straight from the latest fashion wizardry magazines.

Lillian could care less for anyone but herself; Middletons rarely are known for their modesty and mostly for their egotism. Few can honestly say they know Lillian aside from the persona she chose them to believe -- an icy witch that graces the pages of a fairy tale. In truth, she safeguards her true personality out of sheer survival. When born as a Middleton, it is expected to never EVER become an individual and instead join the denizens of practically, perfect in every way Purebloods. And so her passions for the ballet, acting, and writing get squashed in favor of her expected studies -- Herbology, Potions, and Defense Against the Dark Arts. Naturally, she excels at anything she does and is favored to become Head Girl, if only, she'd learn compassion and kindness.

Grace under Pressure
Middletons are the Pureblood family, at least in their own minds. But isn't that what every Pureblood family would say? There hasn't been a Middleton who hasn't achieved status worthy of their bloodline -- be it the first Herbologist to discover and cultivate a previously extinct butter-rose or the youngest Auror to capture a savage werewolf. It was this pressure to BECOME which molded Lillian into the icy princess that the students of Hogwarts expected. Little by little, her childhood affections for the Muggle ballerinas who danced her favorite stories to life or the wonders of Shakespeare were torn away from her future stories. It simply was NOT expected.

When she was eight, Lillian met a Muggle girl named Jill in London. The pair snuck into a dance academy and agreed to secretly meet on the academy roof to watch and play out what the ballerinas below performed. Lillian's nanny caught her in the act, dancing with Jill, and the two shocked girls fell through the glass roof. The near scandal and thousands spent to prevent this story from reaching the gossip rags forced Lillian into the prison called home. She was disallowed associations with lesser beings and only permitted friendships with girls THEY deemed worthy.

And that is what Lillian did. If she could keep her family pleased, by the time graduation came, she'd be more able to flee and escape to the life SHE wanted. This became more apparent when in her third year, the Room of Requirement appeared to her as a place to train. It is her true dream to become a ballerina like the ones she saw as a little girl. And her only guide are the house-elves that mysteriously leave behind books and magic-projections on ballet. It is here she becomes her warm, carefree, and dreamy girl.

Julian McGovern, the boyfriend
The Middletons and McGoverns encouraged their daughter and son to interact, hoping to cultivate what they expected as a future union. The two appear as the picture perfect couple -- Snow White and Prince Charming. This romantic fairy tale Slytherin couple seem destined for marriage after Hogwarts and neither seem to dispel such rumors.

Marcelina Espinoza, social acquaintance
Purebloods tend to run among the same social circles and among these gatherings, the two met. Or rather Lillian was required to make pleasantries with the Spanish wizard. The Middletons now and then need to acquire rare antiques which Marcelina's mother has the right knack of finding the perfect one especially under extreme short deadlines. As such, the Middletons are willing to slightly overlook the Espinoza's muddled pureblood. Marcelina's wit rather surprised Lillian when the two struck a conversation so acknowledging each other's existence is less of a pained requirement and more of a pleasant encounter.

Whimsicality (onawhim) | 1143 comments
Name Ingrid Iolanthe McGovern

Age & Year 15, born August 26th year five

Appearance At first glance, Ingrid enchants. She seems to shimmer with health and beauty; small, poised, and delicate, with loose, perfectly formed golden curls tumbling to a stop to her mid back. Underneath these locks of honey and spice peek out wide, azure eyes, almond-shaped and innocent, framed by sweeping lashes. Taught to walk with grace and unmistakeable poise, Ingrid turns heads as she moves, which always brings a self-satisfied smile to her plump lips (usually enhanced in a shimmering peach or red). She always seems to be clothed in styles that reach the magical world a few weeks later, and rumour has it, an Undetectable Extension Charm was cast on her wardrobe.

A rare grin

Pet Sebastian, her Eastern Screech Owl.

Patronus A European mink.

History Born to one of the most (if not the most) affluent and wealthy families in the wizarding world, Ingrid has always been the princess of the household, second only to the prince, her brother – Julian. Overshadowed by his talents and shining achievements, Ingrid resorted to being petted and held as the prettiest member of the family. As a result, she is very vain and extremely spoiled. The McGoverns’ family tree can be traced to the Stone Age and is as pure as pure can be; in this respect (and many others) Lazarus and Hildegard McGovern have raised Ingrid to look down upon those who aren’t as wealthy, fortunate, or pureblooded as they.

Since she was a child, Ingrid was encouraged to try her hand at many things – singing, dancing, musical instruments, academic subjects, and athletics. Unfortunately Ingrid really only excelled at Potions (and the more specified details of social behaviour – how to host dinner parties, which dress with which shoes, and who’s who and who mattered among the families of the richer wizards), allowing Julian to take the lead in everything else. Having grown used to this, Ingrid knows she’ll watch as she sees Julian take over the McGovern luxury trading business while she’ll marry into another pureblooded family.

Wand A nine inch wand of willow with a core of dragon heartstring.

Lillian Middleton
Encouraged to become friends with only those of the greatest families, Ingrid was introduced to Lillian Middleton at a very early age. Subsequently, her brother Julian was encouraged to garner a relationship with the svelte beauty, which he has. Ever since then, Ingrid has been Lillian’s loyal friend (though others would prefer the term ‘henchman’).

Cecil Graham
Though their families are very close (as two of the most high-ranking families in the wizarding world would tend to be), Ingrid and Cecil have somewhat of a tumultuous relationship. At age six, Ingrid filled the seven-year-old Cecil's cream of mushroom soup with pumpkin fizzes, landing most of the contents of the bowl on his face when he dipped his spoon in. Unbeknownst to Ingrid, Cecil was horribly punished for the incident, and has developed a potent hatred for the Slytherin girl. On the other hand, Ingrid portrays an outer, vitriolic passion for hurting Cecil - masking a childhood crush that was the reason for pranking him in the first place.

message 9: by [deleted user] (last edited Apr 19, 2012 06:57AM) (new)

Name: Luthien Windermere
Age: Sixteen. He’s currently in his sixth year.
Pet: A young Eagle Owl by name of Athelas.
Wand: “Hmm, interesting choice… 12 ¼ inches, elm, and let’s see here…Ah, a core made from the crimson plume of a male basilisk. It was a rather sticky job, trying to get a hold of that feather. But I digress. I suspect that this will make for quite the elegant wand; resilient, but still fairly swishy. Splendid for Charms work, I should think.”- Ollivander
Patronus: A Runespoor.

Physical Description: Exquisitely fair in both face and form, Luthien is the pride of his family and draws attention from others like moths to a flame. He carries himself with an easy grace at all times, but can move as quickly as a snake when so inclined. He’s slender and lean of frame, with a sinuous build more inclined towards grace than bulk while his face is that of one born to nobility, displaying soft, delicate features and high cheekbones.

Luthien’s skin is flawless, and though it was once quite pale, long hours spent at the lake have darkened it slightly to become a warmer, more natural shade of cream. His eyes are a cool blue-grey whose depths rarely show emotions other than those of mild amusement, irritation, or contempt.

Luthien’s most distinctive feature is his hair, which falls down to the middle of his back in a heavy river of silver-gold that is usually restrained by a low ponytail or braid, and by a loose bun during Quidditch matches. Although somewhat effeminate in appearance, anyone who dares even mentioning as such will swiftly find themselves eye-to-eye with the dangerous end of his wand.

Personality: Possessed of a certain charm that combined with his striking looks, ensures that he can never hope to travel anywhere unremarked, several have speculated that veela blood runs through Luthien’s veins. Of course, he is always swift to assure them that no Windermere would ever breed with a monster. But there is an undeniable allure about him that attracts others, something that he takes full advantage of when there’s something he wants.

He has all the natural cunning and intelligence a Slytherin is expected to have and makes full use of it in turn. And although he’s known for being quite charismatic, Luthien is also bound to be rather short-tempered and irritable at times, ready to snap at someone simply for walking too close to him, particularly during examinations. Given enough time though, he will doubtless mellow out.

But what most people don’t know, and that he does his best to keep under wraps, is that Luthien has a soft spot for children, and will often go out of his way to protect the first and second years from being bullied.

History: Born to the highly-esteemed and wealthy Windermere family, Luthien has never been out of the lap of luxury. His father, Oropher Windermere was quite the prominent man in society, considering that he held the coveted position of being the Ministry of Magic’s French ambassador, a career that led to Oropher and his family often spending their summers in France. His mother, Elanor, was from a prestigious family and though hers was an arranged marriage, she and Oropher were lucky enough to have fallen in love. Once he was born, his parents were ever indulgent and doted on him incessantly. He grew up comfortably, taking lessons in every conceivable activity, though he eventually found a special passion for the arts.

When an owl carrying his acceptance letter into Hogwarts arrived, he received a special gift in an eagle owl from his father, and a baby sister from his mother. Her name was Aredhel, and Luthien adored her at first sight. During the few months before the school term was to begin, he assisted his mother with caring for the little girl between shopping for school supplies and having his father take him around to meet the children of other pureblood families.

Upon arriving at Hogwarts, he was immediately sorted into Slytherin. In his third year, he was selected to be the Seeker for the Slytherin Quidditch Team, a position that he has kept for quite some time.

Cecil Graham: Cecil. One of the few 'friends' that were pushed on him in childhood whose company he actually enjoys. Not that he would ever admit it.

Other: He speaks French fluently.

Name Rosaline (Raw-za-lin) Kelly

Age (year) 16 (6th Year)
DOB: January 18th

Physical Description Loose and tousled cinnamon curls fall to Rosaline's elbows, framing a delicate face. Rounded cheekbones, and a pointed chin lend a tone of softness to those rare, endearing smiles; on most occasions, a smile from Rosaline is full of playful allure. It's a bit hard to take her seriously when she's angry, given those pert features that scrunch adorably when peeved. Pearlescent grey-blue eyes hold a constant vivacity, making it difficult to differentiate from anger or joy. Although, it's quite easy to decipher her mood from her body, more specifically, her shoulders, held visibly taut when stressed. Rosaline stands bold and statuesque at a height of 5'6", built svelte and graced with slender curves.

Personality She is a charmingly roguish person at heart, complete with a dry, sarcastic humour, although Rosaline generally tends to keep this charm to herself. Not the most outgoing person, but certainly not shy; Rosaline is not afraid to show what she's made of, to the point where it's difficult for her to refuse a challenge. That dogged determination, coupled with quick wit and a strong will for achievement, placed her in Slytherin.

She bears a temper that is easily kindled, and refuses to admit it. Rosaline has trouble admitting to her mistakes, but she can (begrudgingly) acknowledge them to herself - you can trust that Rosaline will devote herself to fixing that mistake and bettering herself.

Driven to rebelliousness by her mother's limiting nature, Rosaline is easily tempted into doing something her mother would cringe at. Although, curiously enough, Rosaline still seeks her mother's approval, and that is what pulls at her will to be successful.

History A halfblood, born to Slytherin mother Audrey Huntz and Muggle father Mitchum Kelly. There was unhappiness in the marriage before Rosaline’s untimely birth – during the period of signing divorce papers. A baby complicated the equation, but eventually Huntz and Kelly decided on a plan of action that suited the both of them.

Kelly would get Rosaline on occasion, less and less as she grew older. She loves her father dearly, and prefers him to her mother - although Rosaline knows that she cannot live with him happily under Muggle circumstances. Rosaline was raised on a short leash, rebelling against her mother since childhood. Huntz wanted a proper lady, even if she wasn't pureblooded, then her daughter might have a chance with a proper man to lead a decent life in the wizard community. Rosaline had other ideas; on countless occasions she would defy her mother's wishes, sneaking out at night and making close bonds with Muggle friends.

When Rosaline received her Hogwarts letter, there were things that needed to be taken care of. What would, her traditionalist mother thought, the other families think of her and her half-blood daughter if Rosaline ended up in Slytherin (which, surely, she would)? Rosaline tried her best to keep it quiet, for her mother’s sake, but the truth leaked out. Of course, being a first year as well, it was the source of being teased for the longest time (Rosaline wasn't as familiar with the magical world as some of her peers). In time, Rosaline came to prove her true superiority with magic, especially in dueling, with her quick-thinking and frighteningly fast retaliations.

Owl, Cat, or a Toad? A snowy owl named Eiriol. Mostly her mother's pet, although he does dutifully bring her mail.

Wand Blue spruce and crystallized boomslang venom. A rare and particularly nasty wand that excels with hexes, jinxes, and other wicked spells. Twelve inches long, inflexible.

Patronus A fluffy but rather aggressive mongoose.

Esther Park:
Rosaline's best friend. They met on the Hogwarts Express; Esther a nervous first year, and Rosaline wanting to make the newcomer feel welcome. She had hoped for Esther to be in Slytherin, though Rosaline did not terminate their friendship because of where the sorting hat had placed her.

Cecil Graham: Formerly loathed and despised by Rosaline for his arrogant nature; however, the Gryffindor's persistence did not go unrewarded. Quarrels tamed to affectionate banter, and now Rosaline has come to love Cecil Graham. His popularity pushed her into his circle of friends, with whom Rosaline is now well-acquainted with.

Clara Ainsworth: A childhood friend. They met on a night where they both sought something more, and found the unexpected: a kindred spirit. Rosaline and Clara would speak sparingly as they grew up; she savoured the quick glances into the world she was meant to be a part of. It was chance that they were sorted into the same House, and though Clara has become somewhat distant, Rosaline still considers her a good friend.

I hope you don't mind, but I used my own format because it was a lot easier than retyping all of it out in a different skeleton. But if I have to change it, I will.

Name: Amity Irene St Clair
Age: Fourteen
Gender: Female
Date of Birth: April first
Year: Fourth
House: Slytherin
Personality: The three things that Amity's full name suggests to you should be friendly, peaceful and saint-like. Unfortunately, this isn't how the girl turned out. Sphinx-like, sarcastic and unsociable, she is a pessimist who tends to think for the worst outcomes; which in her case are mainly morbid ideas as dark has her hair. Telling Amity to socialize is a hopeless case, therefore her restlessness is caused by her sheer anxiety which comes as a price of being so pessimistic about everything. Steadfast, when she has set a goal she will no doubt complete it to the best of her ability, and will focus on it too; so much that she is called on in class for daydreaming. She tends to be a little bit of a scatterbrain mainly because her mind is always on a more important scheme than whether red ink is suitable for a Transfiguration essay. She is complacent about her own things but tends to dismiss plots of other people not out of rudeness but out of truthful opinion. Amity is very intelligent - telling you that would not be a lie - but she is often harassed in class for her spidery handwriting and other flaws in her work. Even in darkest times, Amity is never despondent or self-doubting; she always thinks that she can do it and sends away anyone who doubts her, hopefully with a very powerful hex on them. Furthermore, while she is a naturally smart girl, she is lazy in classes and not at all a teacher's pet like 'those snobby Ravenclaws'. Humorless, determined and confident are yet another three words which should have her name as a dictionary definition, and being a naturally curious person is not at all compliant. She hates rules and sees no point in them. Being Amity, she tends to blend opposites in her personality to make the phenomenon that is known as Amity Irene St Clair.
Appearance: Amity is pretty to some degree, but not unnaturally. She is of average height for her age at five feet four, and slender, built with an athletic frame, although she is also very skinny and looks like she's never had enough to eat in her life. Her eyes are pools of ice blue, glassy like marbles and show no expression, but only a stare forward as though the whole world is beneath her notice. Amity has dark brown hair that some would say is raven black, cut to around her shoulder. She dresses oftentimes in black, simple black, with no fashionable cuttings, trimmings or fabrics, and avoids excess jewelry or makeup when she can. She has quick, nimble hands, with long, slender fingers that tend to drum against desks with agility rather than hold a quill.

Appearance Reference: Phoebe Tonkin
School Robes, Hat, etc. She has two sets of black robes that match her status as a pessimist, and one in a dash of navy blue (almost black) which she tends to forget in the back of her wardrobe all year. Her hat is also black, as is her cloak, for she feels that silver and black mix very well together and she should match. She often has many school things such as a copper cauldron, silver scales, crystal phials and a silver telescope.
Friends: Being called Amity, as any dictionary will tell you means friendliness, you would expect her to have a lot of friends but you are wrong. Amity's only friends are among the cast of the immense books that she reads curled up in her dormitory every night (and she wouldn't want it any other way). Her status as a Slytherin and a reputation for a snarky tongue that can bite back a snappy retort to any insult don't help either.
Pet: She would prefer not to have a smelly, dirty pet but as her mother insisted she decided on a small, ruffled brown owl which she named Nutmeg in hail of her mother's favourite spice. Nutmeg serves no apparent purpose or place in Amity's heart other than to deliver the mail every day for Amity's Hogwarts career.

Wand: 10 inches, wood of walnut, core of dragon heartstring, unnaturally flexible, good for defensive and offensive spells

Blood Status: Pure-blood and proud of it. Incidentally, her blood type is B positive.
Broomstick: A handsome, easily balanced, handsome Comet 2012, painted in a beautiful shade of russet brown. It is always cared for and polished with not a twig out of place. A compass is always clipped onto the broomstick just in case. Amity is a very 'just in case' type of person.
History: Amity Irene St Clair was born to pure-blood parents; her father Myles who was in Gryffindor at school, and her mother Lotus who was in Hufflepuff. She grew up not like an orthodox pure-blood supremacist, with an older brother Limerick. (I know, Limerick. She always used to tease him about his name.) Limerick was Sorted into Ravenclaw and there were jokes cracked that they wouldn't be surprised if Amity was Sorted into Slytherin. A cruel twist of fate proved their jokey prediction correct. She has a strange relationship with her family; they all want to reconcile but can't; Amity is a Slytherin and her family Muggle-lovers, and although Amity is not prejudiced she still feels that stereotypes will keep her from her family. The tension was caused by many things; Muggle stereotypes, Slytherin stereotypes and most of all peer pressure on Amity to dislike her family.
Relationship/crush/etc. None as of yet, and Amity isn't really too fussed about one. Boys would just pose as a distraction.
Patronus: A pigeon

I'm sorry I've only just now seen this. I'm still a little confused as to what her relationship is with her family. Like, clearly there's tension, but I'm not entirely clear as to what caused that.

Hope Name: Clara Esther Ainsworth
Aliases: To close friends, she is sometimes called Peridot, a nickname which stems from the slightly unusual coloring of her eyes.

Age: Sixteen (16)
Date of Birth: October 28th

Year: Sixth (6th)
Blood status: Pureblood

Appearance: Clara is the type of girl with looks that make her the envy of the classroom. Very tall for her age—5’9—and with a smooth, fair complexion, she’s the type of person who can spend all the time she wants in the sun and still never get tan (a trait she appreciates rather than hates.) She’s got a figure a dancer would be proud of, and moves with a subtle grace that most people say reminds them of a cat—which is not surprising, considering her other features. Though her face is oval-shaped and almost narrow, round cheekbones and full lips accompanied by slightly arched eyebrows give her a characteristic look of catlike amusement—a sort of Mona Lisa smile that is so often attributed with the Russian Blue. This face is framed by long brown hair—the color of which ranges from light to dark depending on the lighting—and it can often be seen pulled up into a long ponytail which reaches down to about her shoulder blades. But by far, Clara’s most distinguishing features are her eyes. Bright green in some lightings, almost yellow in others, this is the part of her which reminds people so much of a cat. Whether they’re narrowed at you in amusement (not uncommon) or wide with surprise, there’s absolutely no mistaking them.
Dressing Style: When not in her customary emerald-and-silver robes, Clara prefers to wear long, easy-to-move-in dresses or skirts coupled with blouses (both of which outfits, she thinks, complement her figure best.) She favors soft, pale colors like mint greens and baby blues over the brighter, more eye-catching colors like purple or red. When paler colors aren’t available, she goes straight for blacks and browns and grays. When she can get away with it, she likes to move about barefoot.

Well hello.

One of her rarer, more vulnerable moments.

What are you doing?

Personality: Clara isn’t exactly what one would call a stereotypical Slytherin. Aloof, proud and still bearing the curious streak she was so known for as a child, some even say she would have been better off had the Hat made her a Ravenclaw. After all, it isn’t often you find a girl wearing emerald and silver in the library, looking for new spells to perfect after classes. Nonetheless, if you get to know her, it’s fairly obvious that the Sorting Hat made the right choice: below her curious interior, Clara definitely shows the characteristics of a snake. Much like the reptile, she has a silent mysteriousness about her that is often cowing (especially towards younger or more inexperienced students) and she is known—especially among her fellow Slytherins—to have a temper which shows through both her barbed tongue and extreme sensitivity to insult, even if it’s only perceived. Indeed, when Clara finds that playing nice will get her nowhere, her amused, soft-spoken demeanor vanishes and gives way to a cunning, downright vicious girl who seems almost designed to take out her enemies. Few become acquainted with this side of her—but those who do never find the experience a pleasant one. As the witch herself likes to put it, “This rose has thorns—and if you’re not careful, you’re going to get cut.”

History: Born to a long line of witches and wizards (long enough for her parents to brag about it, which is saying something) that Clara would grow up in the wizarding world was a definite given. It’s all she knows—all she can remember, at least. Her first pet was an owl, her first toy a plastic wand, her first friend a young boy by the name of Parris whose parents were also purebloods. She led a rather secluded life as an only child, in a neighborhood that (of course) was made up only of wizards, witches, and their children. She wanted for nothing, at least not at first, and was captivated by the hidden world of magic from a very early age. When she was old enough to begin school, her parents offered her courses in very basic magic (Clara was constantly asking them and neighbors about spells and charms) along with the more usual academic courses. By day, she was a nearly perfect child, nothing short of what her parents had longed for—she was polite, curious, proud to be a witch and, perhaps best of all, uninterested in Muggles and their affairs. At least, that was what Clara had them believe.

At night, however, she was an almost completely different person. She (along with her friend Parris, whose parents were also rather narrow-minded) made it her goal to find out about the people the elder Ainsworths so actively distained: Muggles. Under the cover of darkness and with her owl at her side, Clara snuck out of home, always with the destination of a nearby Muggle town in mind. There, she made new friends, true friends, and aspired to learn everything she could about ordinary folk, their lives, and their secrets. It was these nighttime excursions that, according to some, account for Clara’s lack of excessive pride and acceptance of the general human community—and for that, she couldn’t be more grateful. Being an aspiring witch was wonderful, of course, but the last thing Clara wanted was to be like her parents, close-minded and cold—towards Muggles, at least—as they were. By the time her owl arrived announcing her acceptance into Hogwarts, Clara had learned all she wanted to know (though she would secretly request to be placed in a Muggle Studies class upon arriving at school.)

Life, from then on, was…well, magical. Clara was sorted into Slytherin, pleasing both her parents and her friends, and she took to her studies with an eagerness that was both endearing and a little exhausting—at least for the Professors who taught her. She became adept in the art of Transfiguration (able to turn a mouse into a goblet by the beginning of her second year) and Defense Against the Dark Arts, where what she might have lacked in skill was made up for with creativity. She made several friends, though she drew apart from all of them eventually—even in her childhood, she’d hardly been able to make any long-lasting friendships—but hasn’t, even as she grew older, shown any negative side effects to being alone so often. These days, you can often find Clara wandering the grounds, practicing spells or, if not, searching for something (or someone) interesting to occupy her.

Wand: Clara’s wand is a rigid, 10” piece of ebony, with a dragon heartstring core. It seems especially suited to the more mysterious branches of magic, such as Transfiguration.

Patronus: A wolf.

Pet: A large great-horned owl, Talon has been Clara’s animal companion for as long as she can remember. He’s not a very sociable creature, but his silent, almost brooding nature is something she has come to love.

Other: N/A

1. There's already a character named Clover; it'd be best to change it and avoid confusion.
2. Why is her hair green? And is her hair dyed, because 'silvery hair' is, I believe, not natural. Maybe something a little more the lines of white-blonde (if you mean natural colour)?
3. Why is she so skinny? I would even call that underweight, which is rather unhealthy. :/ If that's what you're going for, explain why.
4. Expand on personality. This isn't just listing traits. Explain, explain, explain. Look at above examples.
5. Whoa, whoa, whoa - describe the environment she grew up in, because it's pretty ridiculous that they (including her mother, who has just given birth a day ago) they were drinking and got in a crash.
6. Please read the rules and group description. This RP happens years after the books' plot. The times don't work.
7. What do you mean by pure in moral?
8. Patronuses, as you pointed out, are supposed to be silver. Please adhere to that.
9. *Resemble her mother's patronus.
10. If her mother is Veela, they aren't pure-blood wizards/witches.
11. Fix capitalization and grammar, please. This is basic.

Thera (therjolras) | 1872 comments {Name} Katherine Elaine Silverman
Aliases Kit

{Age} Sixteen
Year Sixth
Date of Birth December twenty-seventh

{Gender} Female
Orientation Demisexual

Kit's eyes are her most notable feature on a face full of notable features, piercing-keen electric blue eyes that some suggest are infused with magic to make them even keener and more piercing. Thankfully, that is but a myth; they need little help as it is. She has a sharp face, more interesting than pretty, somewhat thin and pale. Pitch-black hair is a gift from her mother, worn long with pride; she is built small, five foot four, but lithe into the bargain. Busy as often as possible, she’s a mess more often than not, her hair unbrushed and her face screwed into concentration.

{Personality} ("A hurricane of a girl." "A bad influence." "A prodigy." "A danger to herself and others." "A charming young woman, capable of being terrible.")

Kit is all of these things, an abrasive bit of good luck bred in Bulgaria but born in Manhattan, brilliant to eccentricity and honest up to harshness. She makes it her hell-or-high-water mission to do everything there is to do and a lot of it she does well, which is only sometimes charming. Her stronger points are dueling and dancing, quidditch and language, with sticking her nose into other people's business and almost always escaping with her hide coming close second. She is loyal to a fault to those who have proven themselves deserving of loyalty, a distinctly Slytherin characteristic -- as is her ambition.

As to other pursuits, her grades are excellent and her relationship with her teachers less so. Her charm would be an advantage at this point, were it not for her habit of questioning everything and wanting more. She makes friends well enough, although keeping them is another matter entirely, because if it's not pride it's recklessness and if it's not recklessness it's inquisitiveness or disloyalty or determination of expendability. Kit likes to compartmentalize, keeping detailed mental files on everyone she meets, making frank analyses with or without request, which could make her a fair counsellor but only if the counselled has no need for pride. More often than not said counsel has earned her a smack in the face.

{History} Kit’s life up to this point has been somewhat chaotic, to say the least. Her father, James Silverman, is from a younger (but still rich) pureblooded house, an independent American reporter who spends most of his time traversing countries for ‘fascinating’ stories, spending his wealth on foreign school tuitions and travel expenses. Somehow in all this he managed to marry a lovely woman called Kara Sargeant who was about as sane as he was absent, and the pair of them produced two sons, a daughter, and another son. The daughter’s name was Kit. When Kara Silverman’s youngest son was seven years old and her only daughter Kit was nine, Kara Silverman accompanied her husband on a business trip and was killed by a man whom her husband had recently exposed as having criminal activities.

About this time was when Kit was showing promise in things like math and music and deduction. The muggles had a word for it, prodigy, but her elder brothers simply used annoying and her father promising. Without her mother (a muggle-born) to acknowledge that promise, Kit got into bad habits. No, not so much bad habits as much as a rut of neglect. Math and music went out the window in favor of habits slightly too violent for a nine-ten-eleven-year-old, and once she got a wand and was sent to the darkest wizarding school in Europe, well. Her father’s disappointed looks were more fuel to the fire than anything, unbacked by any real parenting. The native Bulgarian students found her interesting (well, cute came first, but interesting followed) and encouraged her habits, letting her in on finer points of dueling and local magics. What they didn’t tell her, she figured out for herself. She learned dangerous things like dueling, and graceful things like dancing, and then more dangerous things like minor dark magics, and then her father came back from a long excursion of Very Dangerous Things That Children Should Not Come Along For and announced that they were moving to Britain.

It sounded promising, at first. Dear old dad came back with a promise of a steady job at the Daily Prophet, a house in London, a pile of books, and four tickets for the Hogwarts express. Jimmy and Jordan, ever the favorites of a man unskilled in fatherhood, agreed at once; Joshua, eleven and naive and convinced of the importance of family, heard his father’s promise of making things better and swayed. Kit always joked that she came for the firewhiskey. She tagged along, was sorted into the third year in Slytherin, and distanced herself from all her family except young Joshua, whom true to all prediction sorted into Hufflepuff and was welcomed there. Jimmy and Jordan let her be, and she ignored them. That brought her some sort of peace.

Fifth year brought the tumultuous arrival of the boy named Irvine Porter. He was a rich pureblooded bastard of a boy, born in London and raised in Versailles, murmuring flatteries in a French lilt and insulting her in poetry when she told him to back off. It took four duels, six Quidditch fouls, two missing books, and a shared cigarette to persuade either of them after that, although the shared experiences-- reluctant transfers with poor lots in parentage-- should have made it obvious from the start. Were it not for Joshua, and the fact that she’d still had someone to be human for, Kit wasn’t sure it would have happened at all. Sixth year brought with it a sense of sanity, a friend/boy waiting and only one brother to wrangle.

{Wand} Ash, dragon heartstring, eleven and a half inches, somewhat rigid.
{Patronus} Ocelot.

[I'm putting her up for Slytherin seeker promptly.]
Pet None, although she has somewhat taken shared ownership of Irvine’s enormous Siamese, Joly.

{Irvine Porter} Boyfriend (ideal), plays for Gryffindor, good grades, plays chess, speaks French, reads good books. Comes with cat and hero complex. Apply within.
{Joshua Silverman (NPC)} Brother, only one in school, could be twin. Loyal, does not play quidditch, a good reason to hang on to reality. Not available for resale.

Here's a list of things that you can improve on:
1. I'd like more expansion on her personality. Right now she feels a little flat to me--"she's mean and obnoxious on the outside, but soft and sweet on the inside" cliche. This also doesn't allow much room for new interactions with people--how did her friends become her friends if she was that stuck up? If she's rude and spoiled, why doesn't she act that way with her parents?
2. Ministry of Magic
3. 5'2" for a 14 year old is not particularly tall so much as average.
3. minor alteration to history: how did her parents get rich? For continuity's sake.
4. What exactly is her boggart? Her death? Her family's death? A personification of death?
5. Only one pet per student.

Emma Name: Alina Ridgewood
Age: 15
Year: Fifth

Appearance: Alina has blonde hair and piercing emerald green eyes. She's tall (about 5'10")

Personality: Alina is smart and cunning, like most Slytherins. She plays Quidditch and her position is a Chaser. In her free time (when she's not playing Quidditch or doing school work), she likes practicing magic, reading and writing.

Wand: 10" mahogany with a Phoenix feather core

Pet: Owl named Emery

History: Alina is a pure blood witch. Both of her parents were Slytherin, so it wouldn't have been acceptable to have a different house. Her parents both come from very rich families, making Alina extremely popular at Hogwarts. Alina's parents spoil her with everything at home. She never had trouble buying anything that she needed. Her family is one of the richest families of her time.

Her grandmother had to fight for her money. Her grandmother made a living teaching people dark magic, which is where she met Alina's grandfather.

Alina's family has always been into dark magic, never hesitating to use an unforgivable curse.
