1237196 I Know I Should be Reading but I'm actually going to do some work instead.

2135995 I Know That I Should Be Reading But I'm On GoodReads Catching Up On Unread Topics. (and I was thinking of revising my 1001 Books Excel sheet to include the Finnish titles if applicable.)

message 136: by Lori, Super Mod (new)

369169 I know I should be reading, but instead, I am hooked on Youtubing all my favorite music and listening as I troll around goodreads.....

message 135: by Petra X (new)

1237196 lol@Logan.

message 134: by Lori, Super Mod (new)

369169 so Im dredging up this thread.

I should be reading and havent cracked my book for more than 5 pages today...
Xmas shopping like a last minute maniac, but finding tons of great sales. We bought the kids new winter clothes (jeans and hoodies and long sleeve t's) that was worth about $400 bucks but got it all for about $140.... everything was 50-70% off. I hate waiting, but sometimes, last minute shopping is great for the wallet!

1530627 As I visiting older threats I came to this one and was reading posts about something I wanted to write some days ago: the time difference. it is such a great but weird thing....
Charity wrote something like...How is tomorrow? and I had to think about The lake house where Keanu reeves plays someone that lives in 'the past' but for him it is present and Sandra Bullock lives in her present but I think four years later than the one of Keanu reeves...and they meet... I love that movie because it such a great story about time differences in some way...

And I want to read it but don't seem to find a book of it!!!!!!!

934927 OMG Tisha! Where did they all fit. That is good for the heavier babies. I am glad it wasn't me. I had three single births and that was enough for me I can't imagine 7 at one time. OUCH!

message 131: by (G)Emma (new)

611251 Wow! I'm just buying some books online right now.

message 130: by Tisha (new)

1282145 I should be reading but I was getting my current events and came upon this...

Where did they all fit considering their size??

This women gave birth to 7 babies ranging from 3.2 - 6.17 pounds! 6 pounds is an average size baby!

message 129: by (G)Emma (new)

611251 Hmm, well, I think I could finish at least 4 more chapters of The Secret Countess if I started now, but, I haven't roleplayed in so long...

message 128: by April (new)

1405910 Forgive me fellow readers, for I have sinned.
I should have been reading these past few days, but the call of a Sea-Doo (jetski) was way too hard to resist. However, I read by the campfire and in the car and during downtime, haha, does that count?

message 127: by Stacie (new)

137467 Oh. And did I mention that I have 2 more to go through - 2 rows deep!?

message 126: by Stacie (new)

137467 I should be reading, but instead I have decided to catalog ALL of my books. I have a database for those that are read, but not unread. And, I have been lax on putting the read ones in there as well. So, I have spent the last 2-3 hours cataloging books and have only gotten through ONE bookshelf! I am almost done with my second.

Why am I doing this when I could be sitting in my backyard, sipping a glass of wine and reading while my daughter is playing with the neighbor?

Oh. I know. I am crazy.

message 123: by Mandy (new)

649999 Yes, reading books time seems to fall a little once you're in the group and there's definitely more time on the net.

message 122: by Liz (new)

1181304 I agree - once on the site, it's addictive! When does one have time to read???

message 121: by Lori, Super Mod (new)

369169 Bluedaizy.. Hey there. Welcome back. I hate going to work, cause i always have hundreds of posts to catch up on when i get home... I can only imagine how hard it will be after being gone as long as you have!!!

311496 I'm not reading my book because we had to go to the store, have lunch, go to orientation for 6th grade, make supper...Now, this is my computer time, lol.

message 111: by Logan (new)

70078 Wow, that's explosive! I can't believe we've grown so much so quickly.

message 110: by Tisha (new)

1282145 I should be reading, but I have been watching Lost instead.

message 109: by Kataklicik (new)

1334243 I should be reading but mayhaps Catch 22 has killed my favourite pastime.

message 108: by alicia (new)

668363 I should be reading but those damn Olympics have got me hooked.

message 107: by Lori, Super Mod (new)

369169 Emilee, add me to the oldest child syndrome as well.... I had it rough, my sister not so much and by the time my brother came along it was like he was raised by a totally different set of parents!

Im sorry, a little dirt is ok, but I still make em come in and clean up when it gets to be too much. I think I have the cleanest kids on the block!

message 106: by Sherry (new)

949090 Too true!!

message 105: by Emilee (new)

934927 Sherry

good point.

Actually when we go camping roasted marshmellows are best on a dirty stick!

message 104: by Sherry (new)

949090 If you think about it couldn't you always gauge how much fun you had with how much dirt you were covered in?

message 103: by Emilee (new)

934927 Lorena I completely agree. I think you, Charity & I have oldest kid syndrome. We were the experiement with strictness kids!

message 102: by Lorena (new)

948934 Charity this was awesome! I am the oldest and I always say that my baby sister was raised by different people ... LOL

message 101: by Santina (new)

1182302 When my daughter was 3 months old she got her first cold. I was terrified and thought, what kind of mother lets her new baby catch a cold. My docter said, if she doesn't have 3 colds in her first year of life she's 3 times more likely to get asthma. That was it for me, the child was out in germs and dirt from then on...lol, even had chicken pox at 10 months, I'm a bad mother...haha.

I totally agree with you Mandy, it's all scare tactics...then they come out later and tell us they were wrong, and now what we bought is making us sick. Like in Canada, they're on a campaign to get us to drink tap water, after years of telling us it wasn't safe.

message 100: by Emilee (new)

934927 Dirt isn't that bad at all. I must agree. we need germs to get some immunity.

message 99: by Mandy (new)

649999 I completely agree, dirt isn't bad, especially when you're a kid. This day and age is really a scare campaign kind of thing, you better buy this to keep the kids clean, you better buy this to lose weight, you better buy this and this and this. I really dislike it.

message 98: by Santina (new)

1182302 LOL...well there is something to be said about that. Studies have shown kids have more allergies becuase we're too clean. Maybe dirt isn't so bad...haha.

message 97: by Sherry (new)

949090 Stacie,Passive Immunization what a great way to put it.

message 96: by Emilee (new)

934927 Charity that is so funny!

I was also the oldest of 4 kids and the younger ones did get away with everything.

message 95: by Stacie (new)

137467 I have always called is Passive Immunization. I grew up pulling carrots out of a garden and eating them, as did most of my family and we are all pretty healthy.

message 94: by Jesse (new)

721727 Dirt's good for the child..builds up immunity...lol..j/k

message 93: by Sherry (new)

949090 Charity that was so funny!I had to post it in the Modern Mommies group. The thing is,it's pretty much true.Erma Bombeck did something similar. The first baby, you sterilize everything,by the third, they can eat dirt and you don't care. LOL

message 92: by Val (new)

1339853 I was also the third child, and yes, I got away with so much! My sister (the middle one) still resents it. :0)

I have two girls of my own, and I must have known I would only have two, as I treated my first one with kid gloves, then went straight to thinking "third child" with my second. Poor thing. She's lucky we have pictures of her.

message 91: by Charity (new)

129343 I'm the oldest of four kids in my family and I always thought the younger ones got away with waaaaay more than I ever did. I always claimed that I just 'broke my parents in'.

My dad always says, "We followed the first one around with a safety net. We let the fourth juggle knives."

Sounds about right.

message 90: by Tisha (new)

1282145 hilarious. I passed it on to my friends. So sad that I am the third born in my family!
