message 3: by Sharayah (new)

1306002 I really liked the midnighters they were awesome. The Chanters of Tremaris Trilogy, and all of Tamora Pierce's books are awesome fantasy books.

Nophoto-m-25x33 His Majesty's Dragon by Naomi Novik
Dragon Avenger by EE Knight

Both of these were excellent reads. I am completely hooked on Novik's Temeraire series.

As I think about it, I also put the 3 books of R.A. Salvatore's Demon Wars series in a list of best books.

message 8: by Geoffrey☼ (new)

903043 so...
I think its still a great series

message 9: by Noelle (new)

1232732 You'll only find atheist undertones in His Dark Materials if you're looking for them. It's mostly just a unique and well-done fantasy series. Besides, there needs to be books out there that send all kinds of messages and have all kinds of themes. C.S. Lewis's Chronicles of Narnia sent a Christian message and Pullman gives a different perspective.

1545747 OH! i got it, you were making fun of how much i use the word amusing!

well for future reference i like the word loathe, slander, shocking, diabolical, catastrophic, demented, demobilized, plume, shadow, century, dynamic, depleted, defenestration, diphtheria, and amino acid.

message 45: by Hannah (new)

1568374 katie you use those words all of the time but i think that 'the sky' is your favorite phrase
