This will hardly even make an indentation in my Mt. TBR, but here's what I'm hoping to do:

Sept. The Saddlemaker's Wife by Earlene Fowler
Oct. Having a Mary Heart in a Martha World by Joanna Weaver (also for book club at church)
Nov. Grace in Thine Eyes by Liz Curtis Higgs
Dec. Beloved Disciple by Beth Moore (small group is currently studying this)
Jan. It's Not About Me by Max Lucado (easy, but January is always a horribly busy month for me at work)
Feb. Winter Solstice by Rosamunde Pilcher

Wish me luck!

59357 Welcome to the group! I don't know the titles except I own a book by Rosamunde Pilcher, The Shell Seekers.

Good luck for the reading :)

168347 Good luck! I've read "Winter Solstice" and loved it.

I finished my September selection last night - yeah! Motivation is a wonderful thing. :-)

The Saddlemaker's Wife by Earlene Fowler is her one "mainstream" book that has been published. All of her other books are part of the Benni Harper mystery series, which I love. I'm glad I read The Saddlemaker's Wife, but I didn't enjoy it as much as I have her others. The beginning and the end were good, but the middle seemed to kind of "struggle." I must admit, though, that I didn't have it figured out ahead of time.

351830 I've enjoyed the Benni Harper books, haven't heard of "The Saddlemaker's Wife".

I've got "Having a Mary Heart in a Martha World" by Joanna Weaver on my to read list, but I don't own it, so I didn't count it on my list here. It was highly recommened by a friend.

I like Max Lucado, but haven't read "It'a Not About Me". Heard of Beth Moore, and have heard she's good, but haven't read any of her books yet.

Looks like you've got some good reads ahead of you :)

Finished Having a Mary Heart in a Martha World tonight, so met my first two months' challenges, at least. :-) I liked the book; it has lots of good material in it.

I'm slowly reading The Beloved Disciple by Beth Moore, which is my December challenge. It consists of 50 6-8 page chapters, so I'm reading one each weekday, to correspond with our once-weekly group study, and am enjoying it immensely.

Now I get to read some fiction for my November selection. While I've appreciated the non-fiction of late, it will be pleasant to immerse myself in a story line again.

Whew! I just finished my November selection, Grace in Thine Eyes, by Liz Curtis Higgs. I had started it earlier this month, then set it aside to read others with earlier deadlines, and was afraid I wouldn't get back to it in time. Once I picked it up again it went very quickly. I very much enjoy Liz's historical fiction. This is the fourth book she has set in 18th to 19th century Scotland. Her research is thorough, her prose is flowing, and she literally transports you to that time and place.

I did manage to finish my December and January picks, Beloved Disciple by Beth Moore and It's Not About Me by Max Lucado. Both were excellent, inspirational and helpful. They have short chapters so are easy to pick up and read in small segments of time. I hope to read more by both authors. I've pulled my February pick, but want to read a few other things first. Wondering why I chose such a long book for the shortest month of the year!!
