Sherrie Cronin Hi. Thanks for giving us new authors a place to show our wares.

I'm an independent author writing a magical realism collection in which each novel describes the adventures and special powers of a member of an oddly gifted family.
Each book involves a different real life, little known location (little known to readers in the US at least) and contains multiple links to photos, music and information to enhance the electronic reader's experience.

The first novel, x0, concerns telepathic Lola as she finds herself the unlikely hero in a rescue mission in Nigeria. It has been available online since March 2012. Here's the blurb:

x0 is an ancient organization that prefers to stay hidden. Yet, when a young Nigerian seeking her captive sister draws upon her telepathic powers to forge a link with an unwilling Texan geophysicist, x0 reconsiders. The two women are both far more powerful than they realize, and the sister has become a strategic pawn in a conspiracy that threatens to alter the course of a nation.

The second novel, y1, tells of 24 year old son Zane who, unbeknownst to his family, has always had an odd ability to alter his appearance. This turns out to be very handy when Zane finds himself in danger while working at a pharmaceutical company in Chicago, and even more helpful when his situation threatens the lives of his friends in the South Pacific.

Both novels, y1 and x0, occur somewhat contemporaneously and either can be read as a stand alone book. X0 is available now at or through my website at y1 will be available electronically by the end of summer 2012. The third novel is currently in progress.

Thanks for creating this thread.

I'd like to tell you a little about my book King's Warrior - a YA Fantasy book that introduces its audience to the world of Tellurae Aquaous. In the first chapter, the realm of Aom-igh is threatened by the darkness of an ancient enemy that was thought to be only legend. A peaceful nation, Aom-igh stands little chance against the impending storm. A king, whose reluctant rise to power has lead to years of peace and prosperity, is given no choice but to seek desperate measures to defend his people. He calls upon his feisty daughter to venture out into the kingdom to seek the aid of a lost warrior; one who had defended Aom-igh in the past. The princess, who relishes the thought of the adventure, is in for more than she could have imagined as she embarks on the quest with her maid and a young squire. Along the path of their voyage they meet strangers with mysterious secrets, enemies whose wickedness would weaken the knees of the stoutest soldiers and creatures of lore long thought not to exist. However, the marvel of the adventure only just begins when they meet the man they have been sent to find, a man with a past as mysterious and a future as clouded as any they have ever known in life or legend. The hope of their world rests on the steel he wears at his side…

Maura Riley is a single mother in an abusive relationship. Then, one day she finds herself with the ability to fight back. But that day changes not only Maura, but the entire world around her. I would really love for anyone to take a look at my first few pages and give me some honest feedback. Timothy (TimothyNiedermann) | 5 comments I’d like to introduce the first volume in my new “Werewolf Priest” series, A Purer Evil. It’s dark, different, and, I hope, a little more challenging than the usual paranormal fare. It is about a man fighting against his inner urges, trying desperately to channel them before they destroy him.

The story line revolves around Arthur Lehmann, an Episcopal priest in rural Ohio, who is despondent after losing his pregnant wife in a car crash. His bishop has given him a small parish in order to help him recover. His progress is slow. One night, walking his dog at dusk, he is injured by an onrushing animal of some kind that is chasing a deer. Lehmann is unhurt except for a deep scar on his arm that for some reason is very slow to heal.

Subsequent to the injury he finds his zest for life returning, almost too much so. His senses become alive once more but then seem to gain a hold over him. At times, he has to struggle to retain his priestly composure. He wonders what is happening to him.

Meanwhile, in the course of his priestly duties, he stumbles upon the hidden trail of a serial child molester. One child is pregnant; another, he eventually discovers, is dead. As Lehmann pieces the clues together, they point to a trusted teacher who it appears has been demanding sex for good grades. Lehmann’s moral outrage fuels something stronger within him, and when the teacher is found horribly mutilated, Lehmann wonders what he has become. But to the reader, it is clear, he is a werewolf.

This is intended to be a series of books that reaches deep into Lehmann’s moral being as he discovers, denies, then accepts what he is. He then encounters other supernatural creatures. But these creatures are very different; they are flawed, tortured, and vulnerable despite their powers. All through the books, Lehmann encounters evil as well, but the evil, more often that not, is human.

There are free sample downloads of the first few chapters on Amazon, CreateSpace, Smashwords, and Goodreads. Thanks, Timothy Niedermann A Purer Evil The Werewolf Priest by Timothy P. Niedermann

C.J. Pinard (CJPinard) Hi everyone,
I'm not an author, but I do edit e-books, and I told one of my authors that I would promote his book here for him.

His name is C.K. Farrell and he's the author of the Celtic Vampyre Saga. The author is Irish but lives in the U.S. His writing style is unlike anything I've seen. Here's book one, Disenchanted:

Brief synposis:

“Disenchanted” is the first book in the The Celtic Vampyre Saga - a haunting chronicle about bodies and souls bound by tragedy, grief, and bloodshed. The Celtic Vampyre Saga is a mythology that you can sink your teeth into, boasting a Byronic hero in the shape of Nathaniel Valour, a dogged heroine hell-bent on revenge who wears the name of Faelynn LeCroix, and a merciless villainess of the night known in the darkest of shadows as Martha Harrington. At its core, The Celtic Vampyre Saga is about eternal love and the hardships that come with such a profound concept.

This intriguing and passionate saga would be attractive to the habitual readers of paranormal romance, horror, and Gothic literary works, along with graduate readers of YA paranormal fiction.

The other two books in the saga you can find by accessing his author page on Amazon.

Thank you :)

Elizabeth Earle | 3 comments Hi guys!

My book Tartarus was published on Tuesday. It is available through Waterstones, Amazon and available to buy now on kindle.

Hate is a strong word. But you’ve never met Diane Stillman.
After Britain’s war in 1996 between the Humans and the “Freaks”, a damaged Diane Stillman is left with the rubble of what was her life. Living above a putrid world where she knows her sister’s killer hides, her existence revolves around retribution. Tartarus- the Underground City of the Vampires- the freaks- a place with their own rules and regulations.
With Government becoming deaf and dumb to her pleas for help, and constant Night Terrors of a figure she calls, “The Man”, Diane moves to the decaying world below to track her sister’s executioner herself.
But eyes follow her in choking black ink of Tartarus and something is determined to find her first. Unknowingly hunted for being last of the mysterious Stillman bloodline, and finding herself auctioned off as a blood-whore to a possessive Vampire Lord, Diane finds herself starting to evolve into the very thing she’s afraid of.
A monster…

James Loftus A debut novel: Celtic Blood, is set in 13th century Scotland amidst the reformation of a Celtic north and west and Anglo-Scottish/Lowland kingdom. Celtic Blood like MacBeth it is a tale of witchcraft and possession.  Like MacBeth, compelling.  A mesmerising tale of terror and the supernatural.  The wind howls incessantly in the darkest of night and in the blackest shadows lurk the demons.  Beware all, who venture into the realm of, Celtic Blood ...

Sara Beaman (sarabeaman) | 1 comments Hi everyone!
I appreciate the chance to talk about my book!
Please feel free to contact me if you'd be interested in receiving a free copy for review.

My paranormal thriller Redlisted is now available for Kindle and Nook and as a trade paperback!

Redlisted by Sara Beaman

Kate wakes from a gunshot wound to find herself dependent on the blood of the man who shot her. She can’t remember who she is and her own face in the mirror is unfamiliar. As she tries to unravel the mystery of her own identity, she’s swept along on a covert mission she barely understands.
Revenants, a vampiric race of post-mortals, maneuver for power in the world of plastic surgery, internet conspiracy theories, and information-stifling media conglomerates. Those who can control dream and memory muddy the waters as the mission converges on a underground bunker and the key to a source of eldritch power. Kate must uncover her past and tease apart clues to her companions’ urgent mission so she can take a stand before it’s too late to act.

What Amazon reviewers are saying:
“I haven’t gotten this caught up in a story since I read The Hunger Games. The story starts off with a bang and gripped my attention until the very last line. I actually said “No!” when I realized I was at the end of the book because I so wanted to know what would happen next. This book had fantastic writing, great characters and vivid imagery. All around, it is a great debut. I just hope there is a sequel!”

“I was intrigued upon reading the description of this novel. I wasn’t sure what to expect other than a good read, but this book is amazing!
The backstory unfolds through the recovered memory and dreams of Kate, the protagonist, who finds herself caught in the conspiratorial crossfire of competing undead factions. In between, Kate and her captors (or rescuers?) face a journey full of challenges and left4dead-style creeptastic action as they try to prevent their nemesis from consolidating enough power to destroy them all and subjugate humankind.
This is quite possibly the best vampire fiction I’ve read in nearly a decade. It reminded me a little of some of the 90s authors I enjoyed, such as Tanith Lee and Nancy Collins, but Beaman has created a refreshing modern vampire mythology that is all her own, and she has the talent to draw the reader in and make them want to stay until it’s over. The heroes are flawed, believable, and endearing. The villains are terrifying on a scale that will raise your arm hairs and churn your stomach.
I’d give it more stars if I could, and I can’t wait for the sequel (and hopefully many more)!”

Steven Luna Steven Luna here, author of JOE VAMPIRE from Booktrope Editions. Looks like you've got a great group of people...I'm honored to be among you, and a little wary of having what maybe qualifies as the first anti-vampire novel in the group. It's not as "wha?" as it sounds, though...a little more about the story:

Hey, folks. I’m Joe, and I’m a vampire – not by choice, mind you, but by accident…a fate-twisting, fang-creating, blood lust-inducing misunderstanding.

It started with a group date, a case of mistaken identity and far too many sake bombers, and ended with a ridiculous set of circumstances that I just can’t seem to wrap my head around.

Maybe you can tell: I’m not real happy about it. But I’m certainly not going to let it get in the way of my life.

So I’ve thrown my ranting into a blog. I’m hanging out my dirty laundry in an effort to explain the real deal about being a card-carrying member of the Undead Elite. Maybe it will help others understand the truth about vampires. Believe me, it’s not all satin capes and naked ladies…none of it is, actually. Instead, it’s just one nasty little surprise after another. The truth bears exposing, and I’m pulling back the curtain on all of it. If I can figure out how to keep it from mowing me over in the process, then that’s groovy, too.

And that thing about vampires sparkling in the sun?

That is a bunch of bull.

I'm on Twitter @JoeVampireBlog and Facebook if anyone wants to follow along. Thanks much for the opportunity to post - best of luck to everyone!

Jhada Addams (ninjacooter) | 5 comments Greetings and salutations! I'm an author that writes more in the erotic horror/erotica arena. I've been reading, and loving, stories about vampires since I was a teenager - and decided to finally add my own voice to the mix with my first novel - It Never Ends.

50% of the book is available online to read on Goodreads, and it's available for both Kindle and eBook readers.

If you're a reviewer, please contact me and I'll be happy to get an ecopy out to you for review.

Through the catalyst of a vicious, soul-rending act of personal violence, a new Vengeance Avatar is crowned. The full weight of a karmic sword of judgment now resides firmly nestled in the soul of a despoiled, angry young woman.

Seeking out the desecrators of women and children, she makes her nightly appointed rounds - inflicting punishment upon her prey with the fury and strength of a dark, bloody primal goddess.

Now if she could only get her social life in order.

The first book in The Vengeance Cycle series, It Never Ends, is a tale that explores the fine lines between redemption and damnation.

During a particularly brutal attack, an entity offers to intervene on Dani Jillson's behalf. Dani agrees to the rather strenuous remuneration for the services rendered and soon finds herself thrown into a supernatural world of violence and vengeance. Now pressed into service as this entity's Avatar; a servitor and vessel for its wrath and power, she is sent out into the world to reflect the evil that men do back at them. With interest.

Several months in, her nightly rituals start blending into a monotonous blur of gore, prompting her to take a night off, in which she runs across Argent Valentine, a solitary vampire who once ruled over the prefecture of New Orleans under the auspices of the European Council.

Argent finds himself irresistably attracted to this new predator that now hunts within his chosen feeding grounds, but Dani is repulsed by the attraction she feels for the interloper.

Meeting each other is only half the battle.

I am an American ex-pat with a Ph.D. in Balkan History (UCLA, 1995) who has lived and worked in the former Yugoslavia for over 18 years (Serbia, Bosnia, Montenegro, Croatia, etc). In addition to my work as an historian, editor and political analyst, I have recently e-published a novel ("Kiss of the Butterfly" -- paranormal, historical/literary fiction, suspense) set largely in the former Yugoslavia during the 1990s. It is based on my research into Balkan folklore and history, as well as my experiences in the region during the wars. Although the book begins in 1476, much of it takes place in Serbia and Bosnia, and yes, there just might be a love triangle or two along with assorted Balkan oddities such as vampires.

Hi All,

I am an Australian speculative fiction reader and writer and I am the author of 15 books. I’ve written non-fiction on family violence, pregnancy and youth homelessness and – maybe paradoxically – I’ve also written 12 teen romances.

My latest book, The Light Heart of Stone, is an epic fantasy novel that explores many contemporary themes. The Australian Broadcasting Commission’s, Prue Bentley, calls it “very Australian”. (I’ve included the blurb at the end of this post)

If anyone is interested, I’ve just been interviewed by Sean Wright (Galactic Chat) and the interview gives a bit of an overview of The Light Heart of Stone – without giving too much away!

I’ve been writing professionally for more than 20 years and I consider myself to be a very collegial writer - in other words keen to be part of a writing and reading community. I have an author page on Goodreads, a Facebook page, a blog and a website for the book.

Blurb – The Light Heart of Stone by Tor Roxburgh
11-year-old Fox lives in Kelp province where her father is the Indidjiny keeper of the land and sea. When the 84-year-old Oak Companion arrives to test the camp’s children for talent, Fox finds herself wrenched from her family, forcibly adopted into the famous Oak clan, and thrust into the slow culture of the city of Komey.

Fox’s adoption should signal a life of bound motherhood, aimed at returning her talent to its rightful owners, but nothing is as it seems. The Companionaris’ ability to grow plants and breed animals is failing, a murderous ambition has been sparked, and there is a stirring of old magic in the air.

Chani (TempestChani) | 5 comments Hi everyone!

Just wanted to mention my new book, Echo Island! It's got vampires, werewolves, shapeshifters, witches, etc... Here's a short blurb and where you can find it! :)

Having been alive for seven hundred years, Cassandra Anders has made giving into her carnal needs a dirty habit. She's been using men since the day she was turned, and loving every second of it. Known by most Mirror Warriors, or supernatural beings, as a bit of a party girl, it's no surprise to anyone when she instantly starts up a new fling with a shapeshifter during this century's Fundur, a meeting including members of all supernatural sects.

Harper Donnelly might just be in the market for a little pleasure himself, and he's never been with a vampire before. But just as things are starting to heat up between the two of them, other Fundur attendees start disappearing, or worse. Now not only does he have to figure out his feelings, keep out of the way of a jealous demon, but also figure out whose attacking them all before he or Cass end up being next.

Can these two survive their trip to the island long enough to see if what's between them is real? Or will they die before they ever get the chance?

Mistral's Race into Time Thank you Adele for giving me the opportunity to mention my book to everyone. It is all about an adolescent called Chloé (a bit too smart for her own good) and her time travel adventures in space. It is a bit spacey as it involves space pirates, murderous black holes, a nutty scientist, etc. The paperback and Kindle are on Amazon. So the first three chapters can be viewed. I thoroughly enjoyed writing it but then the author is always that way inclined.

R. Tezak | 4 comments A Taste of Fire by R. Tezak Hi my book A Taste of Fire was just released a few days ago.
What if you were scarred and you didn't know why?
What if your blood was the aphrodisiac of the underworld?
What if your life line is not years but centuries and you couldn't remember any of it?

You might not recall that you’re seriously involved with a sexy and dangerous vampire (although really he's hard to forget). You might not know why his ex-girlfriend wants you dead, or why an attractive yet psychotic detective is out for your blood. But that's the pitfall of amnesia, I can't remember four years into my past let along four centuries.

But I know this my name is Zara, my blood is fire, and everyone's dying for a taste.
