787532 Hi Jacqueline,
The Rognvalds Lith have a website. They might have photos available. At least the cover artist would have an idea of who to contact.

The photo shoot was a great way of getting the right photos for my covers.

This is a book trailer I have put together from some of the shots. The photo shoot took a few days, but it was a terrific experience. I learnt heaps about creating a storyboard, direction and photography as well as having a great time.

Now I am waiting to see what the publisher offers for a cover design. In the meantime I am tempted to post photos online, but I have to use watermarks... cause I have a feeling others will want to use them too!!! The feedback I have had is all positive.

There are heaps of these re enactment groups all over the USA as well as here.

1359115 Rosalie - do give us some info on these wonderful people. I can think of one American cover artist who would certainly like to have them on file.

787532 GREEN with envy.
Will expect a report when it is over. OK?

I am not sure if this is where to mention this, but I have been in contact with a wonderful character who is willing to pose for my fantasy novel covers. He does mediaeval reenactment stuff and has armour and weapons and is just right for my main character!!! I have started to work out a story board and hope to have a photo shoot with him on his property in a week or so.
It's going to be terrific. Now all I need is to think of the RIGHT covers. I need four for the series. Want to get them all done at once.
So... while I wish I could be in Canberra, I will still be working on something I am passionate about.

Just wanted to add that the Osprey Guard and the Rognvalds Lith are great people. They love what they do and are awesome. They make their own chain maile, among other things. If you have a local group of mediaeval enthusiasts they are a great source of information.

Anyhow,
Take care,
Rosalie

787532 It is on my wish list. Can't see it happening this year.
Would love feedback if anyone does attend.
Are you going?
