I didn't think I was going to be able to get into them either and almost took them back to the library right away. But I am glad that I pushed part way through the first one and was caught after that.
For some reason I couldn't get into this series. I'm not sure if I just wasn't in the mood, but I think I will have to go back and try it again at some point. I pretty much liked all of Robert's other books except for a select few.
I just finished the last book. It was awesome! I was happy when all six made it through the war and even more pleased with the ending. You all were right, the third book tied them all together and the ending was perfect. You have to love Nora!
I am loving these books! I read book 2 yesterday and I started book 3 today. This is out of the box for Nora, Emily but I'm enjoying them a great deal. I'm not sure I'm prepared for who is going to die in Valley of Silence of not, I'm such a crier.
Yeah Emily it is a bit different for Nora. I love the fact she can write romances in so many different settings, be it horror / paranormal, modern, mystery etc. I think it's a great skill and it makes for more variety when reading her work even if the basic plots can be formulaic at times
I am just starting Morrigan's Cross. I have liked all the NRs books I have read so I have no doubt I'll enjoy this series too. I can't wait for the kids bedtime so I can read and relax!
This was one of my favorite series. I loved Cain's character. I loved how they were able to back in time.
I finally finished the series this past march ( i have two babies under two so it takes me a little while) and i loved them! I was surprised about the topic because that's not a topic that i thought Roberts would've ever written about. But enjoyed all three so much! I think i liked Cian and Moira's love story the best because you knew that i was going to get looked down upon but she didn't care anyways, and the ending was awesome!
I loved this series. It's also great to come here and see so many people that loved Cian (glossery spelled it as KEY-an to pronounce) I actually loved the name and character so much that I named my puppy after him. I even sent an email thru Nora's website to get permission to name him based on this series ... and GOT A RESPONSE!
Summary: A group of 6 destined characters must join together to fight a powerful vampire who is intent on destruction.1. Morrigan's Cross
2. Dance of the Gods
3. Valley of Silence

Cian broke my heart, All I could think when he left was what the Goddess Had promised Hoyt at the beginning and I got so mad it didn't happen , then of course she went to visit Cian, I think the end of the series was just right
Just read 'Valley of Silence'. Thought it was brilliant- stayed up 'till 4am to finish it! The letter that Cian leaves for Moira (after the final showdown) was perfect...I almost cried.. lol! I thought it was easy to see why she fell for him...
GREAT TRILOGY. My mom suggested these books to and I thought she was crazy. Apparently the crazy one was me! They were great. Cian's story was my favourite by far!
I just finished Morrigan's Cross and i loved it! I thought it was such an intruiging story and you instantly fell inlove with the characters. I am impatiently waiting to read the next two books in the series. I can't wait to see what happens next!
I loved all three. I did find the last to be a bit on the slow side, but once the action really got started, holy cow! LOL!
What I truly adore about her novels is that all her characters have distinct personalities, making them all their own individuals. Kathrynn, I hope you won't be disappointed.
I really enjoyed this trilogy. I was impressed with the topic Nora chose - Vampires. The characters were funny and the story was great.
I thought the third one was slow, too. My least favorite in this trilogy. I got irritated with Cian's charater. I couldn't see how the woman would want him so badly.
Dang, book 3 is going too slow for me. I keep putting it down and doing other things. I'm on page 74...normally, I would be finished with a book by now...yikes.
A lot of talking, rehashing the past (books), shows the love of the others, vampires still killing, still preparing for war, still training and still making runs out in the "danger" area to scope out the vampires.
Maybe I should have read something different then come back to this book...
Does it pick up? Hard to tell with such mixed reviews. Some loved it, some were "eh," some hated it, some read it but not the previous in the series. And most didn't write a review but gave a star rating. (darn it!)
I was so looking forward to Cian's story, but he's in a "ho-hum" mood and now I am too. ;-)
I did the same thing--didn't see it til the end, then flipped through to find pronunciations and meanings. I thought it was great that she included that in there. I think she did something similar with the Gallaghers series.
Oh, in case anyone (like me) didn't notice the Glossary of Irish Words, Characters and Places in the back of the book--it's there. I didn't see it until the end, then flipped through some phrases that are said in the book to catch their exact meaning.
FYI
I finished "Dance of the Gods" (book #2) and it was very good. Can't wait to read Cian's story. BTW in book #1 he went by both Cian and Cain--remember that he changed the letters around to blend in with present time...I noticed in book #2 he reverted back to Cian.I laughed out loud at some of the comments the characters made in this one. Funny characters with very distinct personalities. I like that.
When I was reading those I got so mad that one came out each month because as soon as i finished one, I wanted to read the next one, and a month was way to l0ng to wait. Plus I had to wait until my mom was finished (although taht was only a day often)....
This might be a trilogy that I regret trading. Oh well. I can always get it again. It was really good and a very fast read for me. I totally ignored most everyone while reading it so I wouldn't have to stop. lol
It is Cian, pronounced like keyann, it is Irish. Love that name! Nora thinks of some pretty good hero names.
