Babette Cole | 5 comments "Captured " published this week by Mabecron Books is a fantastic new adventure picture book. It is a true story of a cornish boy captured ad sold into slavery to Africa. His adventures are astonishing. He returns to Falmouth in England as a prince covered in diamonds and pearls !

Beverly (bjbixlerhotmailcom) | 587 comments Duncan, the Story Dragon is soooo cute!
It is about a little dragon who loves to read, but never makes it to the end of a book, because he gets so excited he breathes fire and burns up the book!
Adorable illustrations as well.

So sweet, with very cute illustrations of Alfie pretending to be different animals in his garden.

This is a very nice addition to Geisel's long list of books. The children look at usual and unusual pets in the pet store. And after the story, there is information on how the manuscript was discovered after Geisel's death, and how it was developed into a book.

Michael Fitzgerald | 100 comments The Mabecron website has no knowledge of Captured by Babette (Cole?). Neither does Goodreads (and it's almost entirely invisible on Google). It sounds interesting, though. Someone needs to pay for some appropriate publicity.

Turns out it's not by Babette Cole. It's by Craig Green with illustrations by Oliver Hurst. The full title is Captured! The Incredible True Story of Thomas Pellow. The ISBN is 9780957256064. Here's a useful website:

Beverly (bjbixlerhotmailcom) | 587 comments Mother Bruce was actually published in 2015 but I agree that it is an adorable book.

I thought that The Typewriter by Bill Thomson was a great wordless book about three children who find a magic typewriter.
