Laura | 48 comments I agree Leea, except that they are both strong male leads? Maybe that's the connection? I had no idea that Fifty was being turned into a movie! Wow!

Sue Erickson | 110 comments No not like TBH at all. Didn't know if it would be a book for me, but I gotta tell ya I love Fifty!!

message 403: by Leea (new)

Leea the description does mention that it is the final installment. It comes out tomorrow! Can't seem to find where to buy it though :(

message 405: by Sue (new)

Sue Erickson | 110 comments Oh Leea I totally understood the difference between TBH and Fifty. I think it was Megan who asked. And Laura I got my Fifty Shades on Kindle but I think Amazon have the paperbacks.

message 406: by Leea (new)

Leea | 317 comments Sorry Sue! Haha! I can't wait to read the final book.

message 407: by Sue (new)

Sue Erickson | 110 comments Me either!! 4 1/2 hrs. till midnight!!!!!

message 408: by [deleted user] (new)

Wow, didn't mean to turn this into a Fifty forum! I just find Alexander and Christian similar in that they 're "kind of" controlling and yet really really really besotted in how they'd do anything, ANYTHING to protect and promote their lady love's well-being and happiness. The plots and storylines are completely different, but I do find Christian resembling some of Alexander's personality.

And also, Christian and Alexander are under the 30 mark, that's quite unusual in the romance genre especially for alpha males.

message 409: by Sue (new)

Sue Erickson | 110 comments I agree Rena. They have a lot in common!

message 410: by Sue (new)

Sue Erickson | 110 comments I've been watching Tudors and there is a guy named Culpepper that aids the King. He could be Fifty! Even gray eyes. His name is Torrance Coombs. He has a dark side in the show which even makes him more Fifty if you know what I mean!

message 411: by Leea (new)

Leea | 317 comments Torrance Coombs:

(While searching for his picture, I found one of him naked... hello! haha)

message 412: by Sue (new)

Sue Erickson | 110 comments That's great Leea. I don't know how to get pictures. What do you think?

message 413: by Leea (new)

Leea | 317 comments He's not my Christian

Jessie Pavelka:

*I just always pictured him strong, muscled with a sharper boned face.

OR

Sue, copy and past this, then remove the ! in the beginning. You can also click (some html is ok) button on the top right of the comment box and copy/past the image code :)

message 414: by Sue (new)

Sue Erickson | 110 comments Leea you lost me at copy and paste! Haven't got a clue to what your saying. But thanks for trying to help. I'm hopeless on the computer.

message 415: by Leea (new)

Leea | 317 comments Okay... I mean copy and past this:

Into the comment box, then remove the ! in the beginning of the code.

It's easy!

message 416: by Sue (new)

Sue Erickson | 110 comments Leea I know it probably seems impossible to think that I could be so in the dark, but alas it's true! I don't know how to copy and paste.

message 417: by Leea (new)

Leea | 317 comments Well, you don't have to copy and paste to be here :)

Right on, Leea! Totally agree. You gotta love angles on a man. ;)

Sue, do you know how to highlight a text? Cause that's the first step of copying and pasting!

Kelly | 636 comments I heart fifty too, but I couldn't even put him in the same sphere as Alexander.

message 420: by Sue (new)

Sue Erickson | 110 comments Thanks Leea! :) And Rena ya I can highlight(I think) but scared to try too much. I'll just depend on you girls!!

Lizbe | 8 comments I'm currently reading the latest Fifty book! It seems to be at a different pace then the first two, but I'm enjoying it so far :) I had no idea what type of books they were when I started reading the first one (I saw it recommended on a thread here), and then was very surprised at how entertaining it was and very hard to put down! Very different from TBH, but great none the less!

Does anyone watch Hell on Wheels? I think that the main actress in that show, Dominique McElligott as Lily Bell would make a great Claire!

message 422: by Leea (new)

Leea | 317 comments I love Hell on Wheels. Here is Lily Bell, Dominique McElligott:

She would need to die her hair but she might work.

message 423: by Sue (new)

Sue Erickson | 110 comments I've never heard of Hell on Wheels. What network is it on?

message 424: by Leea (new)

Leea | 317 comments AMC... I also love the Walking Dead.

message 425: by Sue (new)

Sue Erickson | 110 comments Thanks!

Viola | 58 comments I had never heard of the Fifty series until just now when I read these posts! Just looked them up and they sound great! Your pictures helped to get me interested too. :)

message 427: by Sue (new)

Sue Erickson | 110 comments Viola when I read the description I was "iffy", but I love Fifty!

message 428: by Milena (last edited Jan 21, 2012 01:15PM) (new)

Milena (love_tea78) | 133 comments I really don't see how Christian can be compared to Alexander, he has nothing on Shura. It is true Alexander is overprotective, but he is not creepy or disturbing like Christian. I am only on the first book of Fifty and I have mixed feelings about Christian, he is too dark, too disturbing. So far I have not seen what so special he did to protect Ana, except buying her a new car... and it so cliche. Don't get me wrong, I am enjoying the book, the writing is good, and I don't want to put it down becauseI I think if I keep reading Christian will redeem himself eventually. Also I did kind of guess why he is the way he is.

message 429: by Sue (new)

Sue Erickson | 110 comments I think they are both victims of their past, but in very different ways. Both very protective though of the women they love. Keep reading. It only gets better. :)

message 430: by Milena (last edited Jan 21, 2012 02:37PM) (new)

Milena (love_tea78) | 133 comments Another thought just occurred to me... what kind of movie can they make based on Fifty Shades? Porn? ;-)

message 431: by Sue (new)

Sue Erickson | 110 comments Milena hopefully they will leave alot to the imagination!

message 432: by [deleted user] (new)

Milena, in the second one, Christian gets a lot better. You're right that Alexander isn't creepy, but I think the same sort of possessiveness marks them both.

Annie | 15 comments Guys! what about Joseph Morgan as Alexander??? I really like him!

ohhhh yeah!!! ;-)

Kelly | 636 comments Annie wrote: "Guys! what about Joseph Morgan as Alexander??? I really like him!

ooohhhh he is a cutie, maybe a wee Jamie??

Annie | 15 comments uhm...who's Jamie??

message 437: by Sue (new)

Sue Erickson | 110 comments Oh Annie now you've opened up a can of worms! Be ready for your answer!!! :)

message 438: by Leea (new)

Leea | 317 comments Hahha!! Jamie is from the series, Outlander (Outlander, #1) by Diana Gabaldon. It's a wonderful series and you should check it out :)

Megan | 409 comments Haha! Let the deluge of Jamie related messages begin! I must get back into the series...

Sarah (Sweetredhead) | 17 comments Megan wrote: "Haha! Let the deluge of Jamie related messages begin! I must get back into the series..."

LOL I as just thinking the exact same thing about the deluge of Jamie messages when I saw you beat me to it! I will read it again in a few months. I discovered Outlander series first and then discovered TBH and haven't gone back. Alexander is my main man now LOL but Jamie may win me back yet!

Megan | 409 comments I'm stuck on #4 - it's definitely a marathon, not a sprint! I'm currently reading the Harry Potter series so I might pick it up when I've finished HP...

message 442: by Sue (new)

Sue Erickson | 110 comments I'm kind of fickle. It depends what I'm reading at the time. If it's TBH I'm all Alexander, then when I'm reading Outlander I'm all Jamie! They both have my heart.

message 443: by [deleted user] (new)

I don't like the Outlander series, sorry! Scottish boys just don't do it for me...

message 444: by Leea (new)

Leea | 317 comments To each her own :) So what 'does it' for you?

Milena (love_tea78) | 133 comments I do love Scottish boys and when I read Outlander I really liked it. The first 4 books are very good, but I got bored with later books. I read TBH after Outlander and fell in love with Alexander and the story. Alexander is my number one hero!

Kelly | 636 comments Oh Annie sorry I just assume everyone knows dear Jamie! Yes, Outlander is a fantastic book and if you haven't read it give it a go. It is a bit slow at first lots of information to take in but very important info!

I like your photo for Jamie but his nose is not right!

Most of us are in Love with Jamie and A lexander,

Jamie was my first love I read Outlander first! Never thinking I would read or fall for another hero again, Alexander came along and stole my heart!

He is my #1 but Jamie, still holds a small spot! LOL

message 447: by [deleted user] (new)

Leea wrote: "To each her own :) So what 'does it' for you?"

Tehehe. That's an easy one. Someone like Alexander! Plenty of American confidence, a touch of European sophistication and a good dose of Russian irony. To me, he and Jamie are worlds apart despite all the glaringly obvious similarities.

message 448: by Megan (last edited Jan 26, 2012 04:23AM) (new)

Megan | 409 comments The difference for me is that I love Jamie - for Claire, but I want Alexander for myself. Some romances build such a strong male character that you automatically compensate by disliking their love interest, but Paullina Simons was very clever in creating a protagonist in Tatiana where you couldn't help but love her innocence and inner strength in such heartbreaking situations. They were perfect for each other, but I still would've liked to have a piece of Alexander to myself hehe ;) And well, I just get angry when I think of Jamie with anyone other than Claire.

message 449: by [deleted user] (last edited Jan 26, 2012 10:49PM) (new)

Yay! Tatiana all the way. She's the bestest best heroine. She is a QUEEN. I love love love Tatiana. Cause seriously, you can find dark, dangerous, edible, heroes at every corner. But an intelligent, cute, gusty, personality-shining, relentless, courageous, innocent, cheeky, heroine? For me, that's not so easy to discover.

Catherine (cathycakes) Henry Cavill wins for me! I think he's the perfect Alexander. His looks are so similar to the way I imagined Shura while reading the book. If he doesn't get the part, i'll be devestated!
