1215086 A great quick read. Beautiful themes of family, mercy, justice, prejudice, loyalty. All of the characters are very real. I love when the husband and wife have differing opinions and then each changes to the other opinions. The child is exposed to adult problems and grapples with them as he comes of age.

118177 One of my favorite short novels. So much to think about and it's one of the only coming of age books I've ever read that seems like it was written from an actual child's point of view. I've recommended this to many people and my book club read it earlier this year.

255913 I love Larry Watson's books but haven't read this yet. I feel like he is one of the best 'unknown" authors writing today. I will definitely add this to my summer reading list!
