Janny (JannyWurts) | 979 comments I've got Deceiver by C. J. Cherryh on preorder.

colleen the fabulous fabulaphile (blackrose13) The Affinity Bridge by George Mann looks pretty interesting, and I'll probably be picking that up at some point.

The one book I'm really looking forward to for May isn't on this list since it's YA, but it's The Siege of Macindaw: Book Six by John Flanagan.

message 4: by Leighann (new)

Leighann (zhelenstilo) I'll be getting The White Road by Lynn Flewelling. I'll eventually get around to reading it, but I still have the one before it sitting there on my bookshelf waiting for me. One of these days, I hope...

Ken (ogi8745) | 1161 comments I am with Leighann, The White Road for me too. I havent read a flewelling in a while.

message 6: by Kathi (new)

Kathi | 1775 comments The Lackey/Flint/Freer book may be on my to buy list.

message 7: by Kerry (new)

Kerry (rocalisa) | 461 comments I'd quite like to read Flood sometime, but I have no idea when I'll get to it.

message 8: by Edward (new)

Edward Butler | 19 comments C.J. Cherryh's new Foreigner book for sure, sooner or later; Jo Graham's new book, Stealing Fire definitely. The Lackey/Flint/Freer book caught my eye, inasmuch as I just got done reading Lackey's series of historical fantasies written with Roberta Gellis, which I enjoyed thoroughly; don't know if I'm ready to dive into another just yet, though!

My own list: I'll definitely get the CJ Cherryh books. I've read the first 6 in the series, and have 7, 8 and 9 unread on the shelf. I'm still planning to re-read the first 6 at some point before tackling that third trilogy, and by that time, the fourth one will probably be done and out in paperback.

I am planning to read the Dave Duncan novel, and definitely will read the Robin Hobb one at some point. I read Haze when it first came out in hardcover and loved it (and I think the next Imager book is due out later this year). I also read Rollback by Robert J. Sawyer when it first came out.

I just realize that Ship Breaker by Paolo Bacigalupi is missing from the list. It's a YA SF novel, due out in early May.

Phoenixfalls | 187 comments I'll be buying the C.J. Cherryh, but it'll be for my parents' library, not my own -- I've only read the first in that series, and while I'll get to the rest someday it'll be a while. ;)

Other than that, nothing from that list. . . I guess the early summer releases I've been looking forward to are June releases. :(

Bought The Affinity Bridge for my hubby when it came out in the UK back in 2008 (I think), we both read it and enjoyed it. Then he read the sequel which is more a novella and a couple of short stories.
Light weight but enjoyable

message 12: by Ron (new)

Ron (ronbacardi) | 302 comments I was quite interested to see on this list, on my second look-through, the first having been quite disappointing, a new book by Alison Sinclair, whose science fiction novels of the mid-90s I quite liked. But on following up I found that not only is this the first of a trilogy, but that the gist is paranormal Regency romance. To quote Snoopy again, "Bleah."

message 13: by Mcnighteyes (new)

Mcnighteyes | 1 comments Trudy Canavan, Robin Hobb and Lynn Flewelling are definitely going on my "planning to read" list. With Robin Hobb though I still have to finish "Liveship traders" before starting this new trilogy.

message 14: by Melissa (new)

Melissa Hayden (MelHay) | 20 comments I have an just currently started reading:
Lord of the Changing Winds by Rachel Neumeier.

That is a large list of amazing books! Some of them I still have to get to the first book yet. :) Thanks!

message 15: by Jacinda (new)

Jacinda (alynnakasmira) | 15 comments Flood and The Unincorporated Man are both on my to-read list.
