669573 Did you know Julia Quinn has second epilogues on her website?
I've enjoyed her Bridgerton books.
Here's one link.

1186086 Julia's website is such fun. I really enjoy her costume section as well as all the Bridgerton background.

923550 I have really enjoyed a lot of her novels especially the Bridgerton series. My favorite was The Viscount Who Loved Me the best. This newest one was The Lost Duke of Wyndham was just eh for me. I feel bad saying it but I was looking for something a bit more juicy. I am looking forward to the second one though.

message 4: by Jennifer (new)

1262181 I agree with the previous posters. I really have enjoyed JQ's novels. She even sent me an autographed copy of the Duke and I (I won a contest) but Lost Duke started out great and then just eh....

I do like the second epilogues for the Bridgertons. When He Was Wicked was my least favorite Bridgerton novel but the 2nd epilogue to that story has been my favorite so far.

message 5: by Eastofoz (new)

939365 I've just discovered the Bridgertons and I totally love THE DUKE AND I :D I ordered the rest including the fist Lady Wistledown anthology--she is a riot that one! I'm hoping they're all as good as book 1 though there don't seem to be that many good reviews for book 8.

message 6: by Crystal (new)

1312592 East, I think you're going to love The Viscount Who Loved Me too! The first and second books in the series were my favorite. Actually I loved them all except for the 8th one which was kind of hard to get through. :)

message 7: by Eastofoz (new)

939365 Crystal I can't wait for my copy to arrive--hate when there's a series I just discovered but I don't have the other books right away!

message 8: by Jennifer (new)

1262181 I loved ALL the Bridgerton's even the ones that were so so only because you see all the other characters. I happened to like book 8 I think it had some funny cute moments and the hero seems like an everyday type of guy who has this great family. Eloise's book To Sir Phillip with love was my favorite while when he was wicked was probably my least.

I think Julia Quinn is such a good writer and so sweet! I won a contest of hers and she sent me a copy of The Duke and I autographed and another author's book autographed and some bookmarks. I emailed her and she emailed me back! She is one of my favorites

message 9: by Jennifer (new)

1262181 Oh! and I have read the 2nd epilogues and even though When he was wicked was my least favorite book- it was my favorite (so far) 2nd epilogue.

message 10: by Saadia (new)

1299302 I read JQ for the 1st time several years ago and fell in love with her witty and whimsical approach to stories. I ran out and read all of her books as soon as they were published after that. She is one of my favorites. Sort of like a favorite dessert...

669573 I see that someone added a few of the second epilogue's to Goodreads for Julia Quinn's books. Neat! They are e-books and here's the link to her Site for more info: website.

1. The Viscount Who Loved Me
1a. The Viscount Who Loved Me: The Epilogue II

2. Romancing Mister Bridgerton

3. When He Was Wicked
3a. When He Was Wicked: The Epilogue II

4. The Viscount Who Loved Me: The Epilogue II

5. It's In His Kiss
5a. It's in His Kiss: The Epilogue II

message 12: by Jennifer (new)

1262181 Has anyone read Mr.Cavendish, I Presume yet? I have it at home but haven't picked it up yet. Lost Duke wasn't one of my favorites from her and since this book takes place during the same time and has similar scenes I am hesitant to dive into it and be disappointed.

message 13: by Eastofoz (new)

939365 Neither of her new ones sounded interesting to me :(

message 14: by Eastofoz (new)

939365 I just read An Offer from a Gentleman, book 3 in the Bridgerton series, and it was excellent!!! I really was expecting a ho-hum read because not much has been said about Benedict --and I guess that was the whole point (!) The sex scene in that one left me panting I tell you! It was sooo good! It's my favourite one so far :D

Now I'm reading Colin's story Romancing Mr Bridgerton --I've been looking forward to this one since having finished book 1 :D

message 15: by Tammy (new)

785960 I actually just pulled Romancing Mr. Bridgerton out of my TBR pile a couple days ago. Sounds appealing now that I know it is a reunion romance (of sorts). The theme is probably more along the lines of childhood crush turns serious? I'm looking forward to your updates, East!! Keep us posted. =)

message 16: by Kathrynn (new)

669573 I enjoyed The Bridgerton's, but have not read #6, #7, or #8--yet. Enjoying your reviews, East. ;-)

message 17: by Eastofoz (new)

939365 Thanks Kathrynn --I sort of want to whip through them and savour them at the same time (lol!)

message 18: by Eastofoz (new)

939365 Just finished Romancing Mr Bridgerton and it was good too but I liked the previous one more even though some "big stuff" happens! Was anyone else super surprised when the "secret" was revealed??? I was totally floored!

message 19: by Pamela (new)

884792 I had suspicions, East. :)

message 20: by Isis FG (new)

946249 All this talk about this series is making me wish I had them to read! I read the first one a while back (loved it and gave it 5 stars, which is rare since it takes a lot for me to rate a historical at 5 stars). And I have numbers 5 and 8 in my gi-normous TBR pile, but I haven't come across any of the others at used book sales since I started looking for them. I may have to cave and buy some new.

message 21: by Pamela (new)

884792 I'll keep my eyes open for u, Isis. Just send me a list of those u need :)

message 22: by Eastofoz (new)

939365 You did Pamela! Oh wow! I was hit right upside the head when I found that out. I heard that she doesn't appear in the other books which sucks because I really liked her "column" (lol!) Have you read her anthologies? Are they good too?

message 23: by Pamela (new)

884792 I must confess I have not read the last few in the series and I have not read her anthologies. I got her books from the library and if the library didn't have it I didn't read it. I have gotten other books by this author but haven't broke down yet to seek out the ones from this series. :)

message 24: by Kathrynn (last edited Jan 20, 2009 04:19PM) (new)

669573 Me, too, Pamela. I don't know why I stopped reading her books. I lack reading #8 and #9. Must have gotten bumped out of the way, then buried in the TBR mountain ;-). Out of sight...yadda, yadda....

I enjoy her books and her humor.

The Secret Diaries of Miss Miranda Cheever

message 25: by Eastofoz (new)

939365 Well lets hope the next half is just as good as the first half then --anthologies included :)

message 26: by Andrew (new)

1218110 Hello Isis. I may have the books that you are looking for. I have a HUGE collection of historical romance books so if you could send me a list of the title of the books to ilmksc@yahoo.com I would be more than happy to send them to you at no cost to you. I will pay the shipping. Have a great day!

message 27: by Robyn (new)

2184902 About the Bridgerton series, can you read them out of order or is it better to start with the first one.

message 28: by Pamela (new)

884792 I read them out of order and enjoyed them but I think I may have liked it better to read them in order.

message 29: by Robyn (new)

2184902 Thank you, that helps, I think I'll read them in order then.

message 30: by gina~* (new)

2051170 I love love loved the Lost duke/Mr.Cavendish It such a neat idea and i wasn't at all disapointed with the second one in fact i think i may liked it better Thomas distracted me throuth the first one because he was so dreamy lol Its such a neat concept.

message 31: by zHaNe (last edited Apr 09, 2009 09:41AM) (new)

1941169 in my opinion, you should read Mr. Cavendish 1st then the Lost Duke of Wyndham next. i just don't know... i guess i just really liked Jack and Grace and never got interested with Thomas. That's why i think i should have read the 2nd book 1st.

as for the Bridgertons, i like Gregory's story. I think that's romantic. Well, the girl is married but he still went to her to fill the holes. Then, i like Colin's personality.

message 32: by Robyn (new)

2184902 Got The Duke and I yesterday for my b'day, started it last night. Really enjoying it. Tried to find #2 at book store, they had every other one but that one. I have so many in my TBR pile but everyone started talking about the Bridgertons couldn't wait to read one.

message 33: by Chasidy (new)

1386709 I finished reading When He Was Wicked and LOVED IT! I knew I should've started with the first Bridgerton book but I couldn't wait until I found the first five. When He Was Wicked definitely got me hooked!

message 34: by Daneesha (new)

1178736 I have avoided the Bridgerton books like the plague..and yet I love Julia Quinn! Which Bridgerton book is the best?

message 35: by Eastofoz (new)

939365 Daneesha I avoided them too for awhile (stupider than stupid move on my part!) My fave so far is An Offer from a Gentleman. I think though that it's the kind of series that should be read in order to avoid some big spoilers and to get a good feel for the family.

An Offer From a Gentleman (Bridgertons, #3)

message 36: by Kali (new)

2145808 I loved all the Bridgerton books, but I have to say The Viscount Who Loved Me and Romancing Mr. Bridgerton are probably the best. But I also have a soft spot for When He Was Wicked and In His Kiss.

If you liked the Birdgerton series, you'll LOVE her new one What Happens In London...I've read an advanced copy and it's absolutely wonderful. It's just as good as any of her Bridgerton books. So look out for that one later this month.

message 37: by Angelc (new)

1445462 Kali, I agree with you on 'when he was wicked' and 'in his kiss'!!! Those are both amazing! I'm glad to hear that 'what happens in london' is good, because i was disappointed in 'lost duke' and 'miranda cheever'. I was about to give up on her new ones!

message 38: by Kali (new)

2145808 Angelc -
Don't give up. Take my word for it, give her one more good shot with "What Happens in London." I promise you won't be let down. I will also say if you liked "In His Kiss", that this new on is in the same vein and has a lot of similarities. I felt the same way about "The Lost Duke."

message 39: by Angelc (new)

1445462 Kali, I'm glad to hear that! I was so disappointed and genuinely loved the other books that I've read by her!

message 40: by Joy (new)

1857647 Is everyone excited for What Happens in London??? It comes out on June 30th!!!! I am so excited! I collect all of Julia Quinns books. She is an amazing author!

message 41: by Keia (new)

953921 I LOVED what happens in London!! Olivia is such a great character. I was laughing almost the entire way through!

I just bought that! I haven't started it yet though, b/c I have a few books I need to finish first...

message 43: by Robyn (new)

2184902 I just bought that one! I'm in the middle of the Bridgerton Series right now. Reading about Collen and Penelope and loving it.

They are all as good as the first... the series is addictive!

message 45: by Monet (new)

Nophoto-f-25x33 My favorite of Julia Quinn's is Romancing Mr. Bridgerton. I liked most of her Bridgerton series. She has a great style of writing. Not too over the top sexy and all of her books (that I've read so far) are humorous.

message 46: by Laurie (new)

958329 I just finished _The Duke and I_. I'm new to HR and had no idea what I was missing! What a delightful story and couple, reminds me a little of Jane Austen. I plan to read the entire Bridgerton series in order.

message 48: by Pamela (new)

884792 I really enjoyed the Bridgertons and Wallflower series, though the last few Bridgertons were not not quite as good. #10 and 11 of ur list were ones I liked but I know some people didn't. I didn't care for #9 personally but some people like it. I have not read # 16 thru 23.

message 49: by Suzanne (new)

1029924 Thanks Pamela, for giving your opinion on some of the books on my list...I hope I like all of them, but I know there is a very strong possibility I might not...I'll just have to give them a try, I guess :)

message 50: by Eastofoz (new)

939365 Suzanne, the Bridgertons is a great series. My favourites so far and #3 & #5. The only other Quinn book I've read is #9 and I liked it overall but I didn't care for the wimpy hero all that much. I have her latest one on order.

The Wallflowers is another excellent series. My faves are #13, 14.

I read "And one Wore Grey" and I didn't like it it. It seemed like a copy of one of her books from her Viking series and the heroine was TSTL at times.
