i read the dark is rising last winter and thoroughly enjoyed it, i remember being struck by what an excellent writer she is, then i read greenwitch and wasn't as taken with it.
something about the depth of detail in her work is very satisfying.
great that shes still being read- not a series i knew of when young...
i fell in love with this series from the first time i read them in seventh grade! i love the thin line between two worlds. how time is circular and always in motion. i love the main character! he is a normal child in the beginning and grows into a strong warrior, a man. the evil element is black and the good is white. i love the simplistic nature of good vs/evil. and the courage it takes to stand up to evil no matter how small you think you are.
