1014704 Thanks, Julie. I had an informal reading at friends' house on Sunday and that was really fun. Of course, friends are the easiest audiences.

42841 Hello Jane,

Poetry Slam MN holds a Poetry Slam at Kieran's Irish Pub the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of every month. You should stop by and check it out.

Also check out this web site for Poetry Slam MN:

948896 Hi Jane,
You might want to contact The Loft in Mpls. I know there have been poetry slams at the Gingko coffeehouse on Snelling in St. Paul. Hook up with the poetry writers group through the Open Book or The Loft Literary Center--they oughtta know! Good luck. Poetry month is over, but poems continue year round.

1014704 Hi. I'm new to this group and new to good reads. I've put together a collection of poems called I want to Show You: A Memoir in Poems.

I want to read from the book at poetry slams. I've never done a reading or a slam.

Does anyone have recommendations about a good place to do slams? Does anyone have any advice about how to read at a slam?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Jane Gilgun
