Marie-vicky (grimace) | 48 comments Hi,
Great idea to keep track of the number of pages read.I think I will start to do it.I'm currently reading The Museum Of Innocence by Orhan Pamuk 531 pages.

Amy | 75 comments 2. A Northern Light - Jennifer Donnelly (383 pages)

Amy | 75 comments 3. How I Live Now - Meg Rosoff (194 pages)

Vicki What did you think of Gone and A Northern Light? I have them both on my shelf to read.

Good Luck with your goal!

Would love to hear what you think about this book. I started it, but couldn't finish it. I felt it was very plodding, and just didn't hold my interest. Unfortunately, I've had the same problem with Pamuk's other books, although I keep trying!

Amy | 75 comments 4. The Forest of Hands and Teeth - Carrie Ryan (310 pages)

Hi Vicki! I thought Gone and A Northern Light were both so-so.
Gone was an interesting story, but nothing was ever explained! It drove me nuts having more and more mysteries pile up. And, when the author tried to give an explanation it seemed vague and didn't make much sense... Maybe the sequels will answer more of the questions?
A Northern Light was beautifully written, but the story seemed dull to me.
Maybe I just wasn't in the mood?! I would love to know what you think when you get to read them!

Vicki Thanks for the input. I think you may be right about the sequels with Gone. I just read Forests of Hands and Teeth recently. I felt there were a lot of questions with that one. How'd you find it? I will let you know what I think when I get to them.

Amy | 75 comments I thought the same thing about The Forest of Hands and Teeth - a lot that wasn't explained. I really enjoyed the story though - the idea of constantly being surrounded by zombies trying to get you, completely freaked me out. I thought the characters were the biggest weakness - they were all so unlikable (especially Mary!) and/or unrealistic. But, I am actually looking forward to this sequel and hoping it will explain some of the mysteries!

Vicki I heard in one of the groups that the sequel was about Mary's daughter, so I don't know if it will answer anything but I am interested in checking it out. It took me a long time to actually think more of Mary than she was being selfish. I was interested in the book though and will give the next one a try.

Amy | 75 comments 5. Book of a Thousand Days - Shannon Hale (320 pages)

Obviously, I am getting caught up on my YA books this month!

Amy | 75 comments 6. Wintergirls - Laurie Halse Anderson (282 pages)

Gorana | 98 comments How did you like Shutter Island?
I plan to start it as soon as i'm done with book i'm currently reading.

Amy | 75 comments Hi Gorana. Shutter Island was so-so for me. I wont tell you why until you have finished because I don't want to give anything away. :) But, my husband read it, loved it and thought it was very suspenseful! Hope you enjoy it!

Amy | 75 comments 16. Howl's Moving Castle - Diana Wynne Jones (329 pages)

Alisha Marie (endlesswonderofreading) | 715 comments How did you like Gone With the Wind? I have this on my bookshelves and am worried that it won't be intriguing enough to hold my interests. I also have a goal of reading more classics, but haven't yet read one this year.

Amy | 75 comments Hi Alisha! Gone With the Wind was *amazing*! I'm kicking myself for not having picked it up sooner. Don't let the size scare you because I guarantee you will be disappointed when it ends. Enjoy!

Amy | 75 comments 17. The Picture of Dorian Gray - Oscar Wilde (256 pages)

Kehinde Adeniyi (kadeniyi21) | 12 comments really (about the gone with the wind) i am about to start it now but i find books that i have watched the movie already a bit tedious cuz there's no suspense but thanks for saying that about the book. now i can read it *full-heartedly*

Amy | 75 comments I've never seen Gone With the Wind, so I really didn't have anything to compare it to. But, I know what you mean that it can be tedious to read the book if you already know the storyline. Hopefully, you'll still be able to enjoy it!
