I have no idea if this group will do anything, but I was bored, and I read a lot of romance series.
I hate having to go digging through the net for a list of books that are part of a series so having a place to post lists seemed like a good idea. Who knows if it'll work ;-)
To anyone who joins and adds lists, thanks for the help!
Right now, I'm just trying to get at least 1 list added to each folder so all the existing folders are visible.
Isis what a smart idea! I'm always scouring the net for the right order of a series so when I saw this group I just had to join! Thanks for starting it :)
EastofOz - Your welcome! And I know what you mean. I've spent way too much time searching for series info. I was looking for info this morning and driving myself nuts. So I figured, GR Group time ;)
This is an excellent idea! I, too, am always searching the Internet (or asking Auntee) for series order.I hope more people will consider signing up as librarians, too. Can put the order series by the titles for GR's and type in the synopsis, character info, etc. I notice the page numbers are 9 times out of 10 WRONG. Go figure.
Kathrynn - yeah, I'm ALWAYS having to go searching. I pick up a lot of random books at book sales only to find they're connected to other books. I've been doing my Librarian part :) Right now I'm still working through my category romance books, cuz they're by far the most neglected genre (Amazon's fault...they can't even get titles and authors right half the time).
I'm curious, if we have a series where we list all of the novels already out, but there are more planned, should it go in the regular folder or in the partial lists folder until it's complete?
You can put it in the regular folders since it's complete to that point.I've been trying to remember to add a note like
**Active series
when I know that there are going to be future books in the series.
Hey, ISIS! I'm here.
Quick question: Why would you put Beverly Barton's Protectors series in 'Multiple Genre' rather than 'Romantic Suspense'? Just curious...
Colleen
Hey COLLEEN! Welcome to the group!re: The Protectors - I put it there because a large part of the series was category romance (Sil-IM) and the newer ones are full-length romantic suspense (RS). They could probably be listed as RS, but I know there are some people who won't read any category romance books.
ISIS: You mean there are snobs among us?
It's impossible to read the later full-length books without the back story provided by the SIMs. Especially, Sweet Caroline's Keeper. David Wolfe is so much more enigmatic if you start with Egan Cassidy's Kid. And you definitely miss the best stuff if you don't read Sam Dundee's story, Guarding Jeannie.
I have a complete list, including the names of the heros and the ISBNs for each, but I'd like to post the entire list together in RS. Can I do that?
Colleen
COLLEEN: I've comes across some particularly nasty comments romance readers have made about category romance. Not here, but on other sites. If you've got additions, or adjustments to the Protectors list you repost the list then I'll ditch the one I made. The ISBNs aren't really needed, but the other stuff is welcome. And I can get behind moving it to RS. Just include some note or something that lets people know that a lot of the books are category romance.
Isis just to let you know that there's a double post in the Historical Romance section for Sandra Hill's first Viking series. My entry is the first one (oldest date order) and Julie's is the last one.
Oops! Sorry about that. During our recent discussions about Sandra Hill's two Viking series, I was asked to post them here. I know you'd posted the Viking II series, East, but when I looked for the Viking I series I didn't see it. Guess I didn't look hard enough.;)
