You've found us -- a group of readers who delight in the non-generic, the un-categorizable, the blended, the mashed-up, the hybrid. Call it slipstream, multicult, PoMo, the New Weird, it's all open for discussion here. What have you read lately that is interesting -- at least in part -- because of what it isn't? What have you written that you had to struggle to find a home for? What are the spaces that you like to read in-between? Join a conversation, start a conversation, meet some new friends. We're glad you're here!
I'm a New Zealand writer. My recently-published short story collection, "Transported" (Random House NZ, 2008), seems to fit under the rubric of interstitial fiction, as I understand the term. The term "interstitial" isn't in widespread use here in NZ, however, and so I'm interested to read about how people go about getting across the meaning of the term to potential readers, and to reviewers.Regards
Tim Jones
