2786010 I can not decide if I like Twilight or Hunger Games better? Twilight was a mesmerizing romance about believable vampires, Hunger Games was also a romance filled with action and suspense. What are your thoughts guys?

2381120 Hunger Games. Twilight poses no competition at all.

On a scale of one to ten:

For Romance:
-Hunger Games: 9
-Twilight: -9.34432

In General:
-Hunger Games: 9 1/2
-Twilight: 3

2582987 lol.

2381120 I love the romance in the Hunger Games. It's my favorite romance in a YA book, and one of my favorites in general, slightly behind Jane Eyre, Pride and Prejudice, and Elisabeth (a German musical).

The romance in Twilight bugged the heck out of me. Someone really should have slapped Bella. I would say that someone should push her off a cliff, but she does that for us, and is still annoying. I don't get what she sees in Edward, although I'm glad she doesn't end up with Jacob because Jacob deserves better. Edward is really annoying. He is so condescending and he treats the boys crushing on Bella like dirt.

2582987 That gives me a lot of reasons not to read Twilight. Thank you. lol. If your annoyed with Bella, I would surely hate her.

2786010 I would really recommend them. There r th people who love twilight, and the people who hate it, I am a person who loves it. U have to start it not thinking about what others say and that veryone is so obsessed with it. Otherwise it is really good. Hunger Games was a lot more impressive though.

2582987 something to chew on...

message 8: by Sydney (new)

2786010 I love it!

2381120 Hmmm...I think I would still recommend it. The minor characters rock, as does Jacob. It's really just Bella and Edward that drive me nuts. Really, really nuts.

2030118 um.... twilight- not at ALL! hunger games is MUCH BETTER!

woohoo go team jacob

message 12: by Sydney (new)

2786010 I am most definitly team Edward and Peeta, they have the same type of role I think and so do Jacob and Gale. Edward and Peeta are who the girls really love but have a very complicated relationship. Jacob and Gail would probably be better for the girls and very easy relationships and really, really care. I am still on team Edward/Peeta though.

message 13: by Adam (new)

2030118 twilight isnt a good match against the hunger games. i think the giver. so which do you think is better the giver or the hunger games?

message 14: by Adam (new)

2030118 the hunger games has more action, but the giver has more mystery- its an even match, they r my two fav books

message 15: by Sydney (new)

2786010 I haven't read the giver. I am reading next year in class.

2381120 Wait, when you say someone is "Team ....", does that mean that they like that character better for themselves or for the main character?

In Hunger Games, I like Peeta for myself, and Gale for Katniss.

In Twilight, I like Jacob, although I wouldn't date him myself, and I think that Bella stinks and that Jacob deserves better, meaning that Bella should end up with Edward. Even creepy stalkers and clingly, unhealthily dependent people have soul mates, right? ;)

I LOVE the Giver!

message 17: by Silverblaze (new)

2805775 I think it's for the main character...

Anyway, I'm team Gale and Jacob. Jacob in general, Gale for Katniss.

Yeah...that seemed kind of confusing.

I read the Giver, it's really good. *goes to add to bookshelf*

Both for me

2381120 It's so annoying trying to figure out how to answer when someone asks what team I am. XD

Thanks. :)

2582987 I love the Giver, but the Hunger Games is way better in my opinion. I mean, it gives you more to so much to ponder inbetween books and has more character developement and more complicated relationships. I mean, the Giver was wonderful but the plot was slightly predictable whereas with the hunger games I have no idea what is going to happen. It's new to. I've heard the giver a couple times over and it's what you'd expect with a utopian society and a leak. Have you read gathering blue and messenger?

Sydney wrote: "I am most definitly team Edward and Peeta, they have the same type of role I think and so do Jacob and Gale. Edward and Peeta are who the girls really love but have a very complicated relationship...."

I think the relationships are a bit different though. I mean, Katniss openly admitted to herself that she'd choose Gale over Peeta and I don't think she really loves Peeta in that way. From what I understand, Bella really fought to have a realationship with Edward but Katniss is trying to get out of a relationship with Peeta. Jacob and Bella didn't really have a romance did she? I mean, wasn't it kind of like she was always fighting to have Edward back. I think they are two seperate matters in themselves (the hunger games and twilght). Idk, I haven't read the books but that's what is sounds like to me.

2714747 can't choose, i love them both..

imagine having Edward or Gale for your boyfriend...yum! lol

message 22: by Summer (new)

2582987 lol. sorry, robert patterson isn't my dream guy. now if we could mix the artistic parts of peeta in to gale... he he.

message 23: by Faye Ann (new)

2714747 no Summer! :)

when i said Edward, i mean the EDward Cullen in the book, not the Edward from the movie.. :)

just imagine.. Edward on you right, Gale on your left... :)

message 24: by Summer (new)

2582987 what does edward look like in the books then? i must now this because for the moment gale is standing right in front of me lol.

message 25: by Faye Ann (new)

2714747 a page a book isnt enough to describe Edward.. lol

How about...Gale on my left, Peeta on my right, Neville in front of me, Marius behind me, Enjolras between Neville and Peeta, Luke between Gale and Neville, and Cinna between Peeta and Marius. XD

Sorry, I just watched Chicago yesterday. "I'm gonna get me a whole bunch of boys!" XD

2717206 yeah watever.....im out of this conversation

message 37: by Summer (new)

2582987 Chicago actually looks like a good movie but my parents... sigh. oh well. Random I know but I just saws Outbreak and I officailly love that movie.

2381120 That stinks. If you ever get a chance to see it, I recommend it. I also recommend the stage version.

Outbreak?

message 39: by Summer (new)

2582987 It's about a virus, causing hemoragic fever in this small town in California. I liked a lot of the acting. It had Morgan Freeman, Cuba Gooding Jr., Dustin Hoffman. I don't know, it's kind of actiony and scientific at the same time.

I love to see the stage version. That'd be awesome.

message 40: by ~♡Katie♡~ (new)

2484386 for the books it just has to be the hunger games as there is more going on loads of action and in the love stakes you dont really have any idea who katniss is going to pick where we always knew who bella would end up with deep down. i cant wait to see the hunger games as a film to decide which of the actors i will prefer

message 41: by Summer (new)

2582987 Ya, I'm so anxious. They better be good. I really don't want to go see a butchered version of HG. It's madenning.

message 42: by ~♡Katie♡~ (new)

2484386 yeah am really hopeing they will do it justice am sure they will (fingers crossed)

message 43: by Reed (new)

2717206 well sc is screenwriting i hear, so i dont think it will be butchered

message 44: by Summer (new)

2582987 She's writing the first couple of drafts but not the final I don't think so...

message 45: by Reed (new)

2717206 aaaaaaahhhh!!!!!!!!! nooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

message 46: by Summer (new)

2582987 At least she'll probably have a say in most of it. She says that they ask her oppinion and consider it. She may have some say in the actors as well but they make the final decicion.

message 47: by Reed (new)

2717206 well, we can always hope and pray i guess

message 48: by Summer (new)

2582987 true true.

message 49: by Mieley (new)

1855973 Haha is this a joke? definitely the Hunger Games.

message 50: by Summer (new)
