I wanted to link to the Boyarsky (Chandler) event, but now I see nothing has been updated here since this summer! ALAS!

I asked Patrick a question about the Vroman's group lapasing. Here's his response via the blog (I hope he doesn't mind me re-posting this here):
Yes, I’ve largely let the Goodreads group go to seed. I’m not exactly sure why, but I think it has something to do with not wanting to have the same conversation in too many places. When Facebook fixed its fan page functionality, it allowed me to syndicate my blog there and have discussions in much the same manner as we have them here. So that made two places where people could come to talk about books. The third place is Twitter, where I’m always around. I guess I couldn’t see the purpose of the group anymore. I know there are people who would prefer to use Goodreads over Facebook, but in the end, I have a lot of demands on my time and I have to make choices. It also might coincide with my own personal Goodreads usage declining as I’ve gotten more careful about what I say about books online (a side effect of working with a lot of authors and publishers; I can’t really offend anyone, as I might have to work with them at some point down the road. Makes Goodreads much less fun for me.).
PS: Vroman's is doing a Black Friday event:

I've decided to post certain events here. I can't post all of them, so I still recommend checking one of the billion other places I post them, but I think this group could be useful for discussions or online book clubs. I'm going to try to think up some uses for it in the coming weeks. Suggestions?

Oh, I'm still getting the emails. :)
It was just useful to see events here as well. But I bet updating 20 different places is a huge pain, so I completely understand letting this one go!
