I live in the south of England, however have connections with Scotland through my Niece who married a Scott. I managed to persuade my niece to read Outlander and she loved it. She gave the book to one of her male friends who is a red haired, kilt-wearing Scott and he loved it as much as we did.
I was born in Connecticut moved to New Jersey. At 18 moved to Maryland, then Montana, next Oregon and back to New Jersey where I currently reside. Don't rightly like Jersey but work for a family business and can't find a way to leave just yet. But I will be heading west again at some point hopefully to stay.
I absolutely love Australia and Alaska so maybe...

That is sooo cool!
I've lived in Connecticut all my life (except 4 years at college in New Hampshire). I live in a little town called Roxbury. For our honeymoon we went to Scotland and saw the NE where my ancestors came from and the Western Isles where my husband's ancestors came from (Mull, Coll and Tiree). Now we raise Highland Cattle!

It's nice to meet you too. I used to be a part of the religion when I was younger but have no interest in it now and am annoyed that I was ever a part of it. I don't participate in the winter sports either, I'll leave that to other relatives. :) Sorry to hear about your dog, it's so hard to lose a pet. She must be a really great friend. I know what you mean about trying to get others hooked on it. It's one of those rare ones that is so very worth sharing.

Well that's awesome, It's nice to meet you. It was a long shot having somebody else be from SLC on this forum so I'm glad you're here. And i know exactly what you mean about the religious and political climate here, it is really just overkill you know. I love the mountains too, but i don't ski or snow board, and i'll most likely get kicked out of Utah for that at some point. ;)
My best friend introduced me to this series. She gave it to me that day my dog died, to cheer me up and now because i love it so much i've been trying to get everyone i know hooked on it. I want to share the love you know.

Hello Alicia,
I'm also in Salt Lake City, Utah. I can understand what you mean about not wanting to stay here forever. The prevailing religion and resulting political climate is a bit much. I love the mountains, weather (for the most part) and beauty of it here, plus my family lives here and we are close. I'm planning on staying. I introduced both of my parents to the Outlander books and they are hooked. I found the series through a work associate and I will always be grateful to her. :)
Thanks for writing Christina. Being a Lowlander myself I have never worn a kilt (the kilt being Highland dress), even though my wife admits to going wobbly at the knees when she sees a man in one. One thing I have found out is never to tell a big Highlander he is wearing a skirt. Once you have picked yourself off the ground you will always remember never to repeat the insult.

Hey, I'm about an hour south of you in Lacombe, Alberta, Canada! But I mostly grew up in the Yukon.
Wow DG's fans are so global! I'm from Idaho myself. Haven't met any other Outlander fans here... But I have you all and I appreciate you. :)

I appreciate your efforts, Dougie, but after the last series of Scottish novels my husband is leery of being compared to kilted Gaelic-speaking Finn MacCool-types (hard on a man's ego, y'know). I will soldier on though.
I was born in Iowa, lived in Boston, now live in way upstate NY on Lake Champlain, one hour south of Montreal.
I was born in North Carolina and when i was just a baby we movied to Salt Lake City, Utah. I've been in SLC my whole life but hopefully wont stay here forever.
Born and spent most of my life in Glasgow, but now (shame on me!) I have moved to England. I notice again that everyone writing is female. I am continuing my campaigh to get more men to read DG's books. Encourage the man in your life to read GB and he will never again need to turn to Wilbur Smith for his excitement.

I live in Sacramento right now. Do you still live there?
I grew up in LA, and live in Florida (Ft. Lauderdale area) now. All my friends are reading the series, including my husband, who complains that he is reading "book 75, thousands of pages", etc., but has also read a few of them a few times!! We were both somewhat disappointed in Echo, and both said "stinks of sequel"!

Not that it matters in this blog but Fiona is my favorite name. I am of Irish descent living in Washington, DC. We name our GPS systems in our cars and our latest one is named Fiona. So a tribute to you, I guess because you're the only Fiona I "know". :-D

Did all the K&W's close, the ones here in Winston-Salem are still open.
I'm in Wellington, New Zealand but spent 8 years in UK prior to this and then Australia prior to that.
Born and raised outside of Chicago, moved to Texas at 18, lived in Kansas and Georgia thru our married life (job related moves). Now living back in Texas just outside of Fort Worth.

We got our two Siamese cats from a breeder in Greensboro. I keep telling them that in a couple of years they will be going back to their birth state. :-D
P.S. Has anyone ever figured out why the K&W cafeteria there closed?
Greensboro, NC with the exception of living in France for two years (and then working with the French for the next 11, but here in NC).
I grew up in Detroit, Michigan, then moved to Houghton, Michigan, then Virginia and now live in the District of Columbia (yes people really live in the District). We will retire to Brevard, North Carolina in 2012 and that is the last place we plan to live.
